Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Happened upon this pub today. Sat up at the bar and met a bunch of locals and the bar staff (owners?). The welcome and craic was outstanding….

We were walking by. And the doorman asked would we like a drink. Like the old days. Not seen much in pubs. Nice friendly staff we shall return

Second pint of the day was a short walk away in Mcgraths, an ordinary decent boozer as they would say. Pretty dull frontage, all brown, but inside it was nice and comfy, wooden interior and had some decent beers on tap. I sat down at the busy enough bar for that time of the day, and went for a pint of Galway Hooker Pale Ale, something I have heard raved about online, it has won awards dont you know! Served fast enough by the friendly bar man, pint was great, lovely and cool, and enjoyed my short time here having a nice quiet chat with the brother. The bar has a bit of a local feel to the place which adds to its cozy atmosphere. Apparently this place does good food too, with great reviews online, which I would never have guessed and I didn’t see any menus hanging around. Ah next time I am in town so……….. Good bar, and definitely will be back.

Worst Pub in Dublin avoid at all cost!! Called here yesterday during the Football game un Croke Park and even though they had aprox 15 staff... they felt the need to close for a hour in the middle of the day while the game was on to restock!! ... Customers where actually shocked and bemused by this situation and the owner possibly the proprietor lady aswell as elderly staff members who at this stage should be retired and are obviously not employable anywhere else were very rude in their tone to the public.. Absolutely shocking experience and this matter will be taken further because if a public establishment choose to charge these rates for drink etc a minimum standard of service should be expected and this place fell well below that...

I recently tried to buy a drink in this bar at 11 PM on a Sunday in the June Bank holiday weekend. I was told that it was closed despite bars being allowed serve until 11:30 and another good lot of 'drinking up time'. We left and went to a very pleasant bar that happily served us a drink. Given that that only one member of the group was below 50 we wouldn't even fall in 'loud' category.

Had a couple of drinks here after dinner nearby. It was pretty much empty apart from a few football fans. It was a bit chilly overall. The back part of the pub is newly refurbished and looks great.

We were passing and stopped for a beer in the warm weather. The place was packed so we drank outside, there's no tables, just a windowsill for your drink but it was nice to be outside in the cool air. Friendly service and reasonable prices.

Always enjoy going into McGraths as I did recently before a big Dublin football game. The place has loads of character and always has a nice buzz, especially on matchdays. Now to contradict myself a little bit, I always stay away on summer days when there are games on because the place will be absolutely wedged and you'll be about ten deep to the bar! But on winter matchdays when the crowds are much smaller, its a perfect place for a pre-match pint. Great Guinness, good service and good company.

Also the restaurant and bar area do not look very modern, the food was absolutely brilliant and among the best we had on our trip to Dublin. The BBQ chicken burger was fantastic, with homemade chips. The service was also fantastic and prices were very reasonable compared to other restaurants we went to.

Don’t want to be OTT but this place truly has it all. Never felt so welcomed and so well looked after while in Dublin. Did a special veggie burger for my friend even though it wasn’t on the menu and he said it was lush. Staff super friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. My first stop now every time I visit Dublin

Ate in McGraths at tea time on a Saturday night. My Wife had read very positive reviews about it online and they proved to be spot-on. Other posters had mentioned that the pub itself was distinctly "ordinary" looking from the outside and indeed the interior was fairly modest, but the service and the food...5 star! We had a fantastic meal for a very reasonable price. Home-made soup and chicken wings proved a great starter and for the mains, we had the burger which lived up to its glowing reputation!! The only downside was by the time we had finished our main course, we had no room to sample the cheesecake! The service provided was equally good, a very pleasant and attentive waiter looked after us and gave the impression that nothing would be too much trouble. We would highly recommend and will most certainly be back!

McGraths is not lovely inside, it is less than ordinary. Keeping our nerve, we both order the spicy wings, raved about lonline. Ace in the hole! Absolutely divine! And lots of them. All of the while, footy is on several TVs, which we assume to be local as the locals are very engaged, but it transpires it's Liverpool v Leicester. The main courses were just as impressive, beef in Guinness with mash. And when we asked for a bottle of red, they have a full off licence and reeled off the lot! To finish, a mango cheesecake, deconstructed, although it doesn't say this on the menu. It is beyond lovely! Worthy of a London 5* at a fraction of the price. Adding to this, the awesome, and very friendly service we had from our waiter, he was a gem by himself. What a lovely ad hoc experience! And the bill? 50 Euros between us! A very lucky find indeed!

We were staying close by and didn't want to go to far for supper. We were pursued to go by the reviews on here to give it go! We weren't disappointed! Although not the most stunning place, it was clean, the staff were very friendly & welcoming! The food was simple, but wonderful! The chicken wings were great! So good! Big portion for a starter too! I had the lamb & Guinness stew for a main, which has to be hands down the best stew I've ever had!! Great wine...though I've forgotten which one it was! Highly recommend, great food, with welcoming staff!
