Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We live close by The Merrion Inn and come here on a regular basis as a family. We are always given a warm welcome by Paul, Keith and the rest of the team. They always look after us very well and it's a testament to...the team that the restaurant is usually busy. The food is great, priced fairly, and with a great value wine list, it really is hard to fault the place. I know we will be coming here for a long time to come.More

Good food. So filling on par with Nevins Newfield Inn Mulranny. Yummy will come back here if I'm in the area.

Visited the Inn based on my daughter’s recommendation. We stopped in late on a Sunday afternoon and the Inn was full of families enjoying Sunday roasts. All of the food we had was good, but I will focus on the fish and chips which were...excellent. The filet was thick and moist and the batter crust was very crisp which is the way I want it to be. Nothing like a nice crunch biting into a well prepared filet washed down by a good pour of Guinness! The family enjoyed their desserts while I was full and finished with tea.More

We visited on both nights of our Dublin stay. The food was excellent and surpassed only by the warmth of the welcome especially on our second visit.

So deserving of 5 stars. The food can only be described as fantastic. Every ingredient of each dish was prepared and cooked to perfection. Sampled 4 separate mains here now and I can only say that I have never enjoyed food as much. The atmosphere...is great, service excellent, choice on menu is great, price - not too bad at all. I just love being able to drop in at short notice and be served the best treat in town. Yes, I did say two negatives - 1) Tripadvisor only allows a max of 5 stars when this place deserves way more. And 2) (my own fault) I should have written up an excellent review after my first visit. To the chefs, keep doing what you are doing, to the whole staff - Thank you so much.More

Lovely wee spot for lunch or dinner, it is really busy so you're probably best booking ahead. We had a lovely meal of chicken gougons with crumble and sticky toffee pudding for dessert all well presented and cooked to perfection. Staff are very friendly, we...had booked, but an error happened with our booking and the staff member sorted it out straightaway and got us a table, we were delighted with how efficient and welcoming they are. We will return again, great value and delicious.More

Went here for family lunch. Booked for 16 but there ended up being 18 of us. In spite of it being quite busy, they seated the extra 2 no problem. Service was excellent, with very friendly and accommodating servers. Everyone enjoyed their food, and the...atmosphere was very pleasant . When lunch finished, there was no rush put on our party to vacate our tables and we finished up at our own pace. All in all, a very enjoyable lunch, and I would definitely recommend it.More

I ate here with family & on my own 8 times over a 2 wk period in April while my husband was in SVUH, the food & staff were outstanding to say the least. Keith, Kieron & Paul made my time in Dublin much easier...with their kindness. I have & will highly recommend The Merrion Inn to anyone travelling to Dublin. The Beef cheek is WOW!!! & the kids are still talking about how nice the guys were to them when they came up for Easter wkend, it's the small things that these guys do daily that make establishments like this truly deserve to be have have good name. 👏 I hope the owners appreciate the good staff they have!More
