We had a meal here last Sunday outside. We were told we could have the table for an hour which is fair enough with the restrictions in place now for limited dining outside only. The food was really good, we had the buttermilk chicken burger...and a chicken/chorizo burger. The service was excellent, the lad serving us was very friendly and even though we left on the hour we didn't feel rushed. Well done.More
I've been a regular customer at this venue for a while, where they do a decent chowder, reasonably priced wine and salads, and it's quite nice to sit outside a stone's throw from the Lighthouse cinema. They also earned kudos from me for refusing to...implement the absurd time restrictions on diners, even though they've lost a few tables in what is a biggish restaurant with social distancing rules. My recent experience was both disappointing and offputting, however - and caused me to miss dinner completely owing to the hour - and means I'm disinclined to return, which is a loss of business for them and a pity for me.
On this visit, I ordered the steak sandwich 'medium rare' from the manageress off their 'Butcher's Table', which she raised no issue about. As it turned out, it was a poor value sandwich at 15.50e, with just a few small strips of allegedly 'prime beef' and hard-to-detect chorizo in a smallish bap, when one would expect a good piece of 5oz meat at least plus toppings. It also arrived well-cooked, and, when I queried this with a waitress, I was told it had to be cooked that way 'by law' (it doesn't), though she took it back anyway and then quickly returned to say it couldn't be changed. Back came the manageress, who, when I asked her why she hadn't advised me about the cooking issue when I ordered, literally told me 'you've been here before so I thought you'd know'!!! After I'd spluttered a bit at this, I then asked about the beefburger as an alternative and was impatiently told that because it was 'mixed meat' (so not a 100% beefburger, then), it also had to be cooked till it was grey. When I advised her I had been to other restaurants where this was certainly not the case and suggested that they might consider revising their policy in a more customer-centred fashion, she clearly didn't want to know, pulled a face, told me 'that's how we do it here' and abruptly cleared the table.
Showing their customers - and certainly their regular customers - a good dollop of respect would go a long way, and it's disspiriting to see the manageress setting such a poor example here. Though the waitresses seem sweet enough, it's also an attitude I've picked up a bit from a male staff member who I think may be a co-manager. Sadly, this is one of many places these days, from dentists to restaurants, where the feeling is of people working for their own convenience rather than looking after you properly and respectfully. For value for money and service, Dubliners should be able to find better.More
I went with my girlfriend to have a beer and chicken wings and there was a sign in the entrance saying that was a 20€ deal.
When we asked for that the waiter was so confused, left the table and start attending other people. After...that he came back and we order the same thing but without the special offer and the waiter told us that we have to order 2 plates as we were 2 people (Covid law in Ireland says that we have to order at least 9€ of food per table if we want to drink and the chicken wings were 12€)
Very dissapointed with the serviceMore

Thanks for leaving such a great review, we are thrilled with the five stars. Unfortunately, my phone screen is cracked so I am having difficulty reading your feedback but I get the gist.
Anyhow, you and your girlfriend were the nicest wedding couple...More
Went here after movie. No booking and no problem.Social distancing guidelines followed well.Staff friendly.Had Charcuterie board to share with glass of wine which was perfect.Salmon and fish and chips were both excellent.Lovely to get back out for a meal and back to near normal.
A small group of us ventured out on Saturday to celebrate a friends birthday. There was 15 of us and I was very impressed with the Covid measures. We had a lovely little envelope with our cutlery, Salt and pepper, and a wet wipe in...it. There was strict guidelines for seating, ordering food and drinks. We all had a variety of dishes, the chicken supreme was GF and was lovely. Others had the scampi, burgers and bruschetta. The staff were so friendly and attentive. Definitely worth a visit.More
Last night myself and my partner went here for dinner, we chose it because the location suited us and it looked good.
My partner booked our table around 30 hours in advance and to say we were given the worst table in the house is...an understatement. We were seated immediately on the left hand side of the door, which was about 2 feet from the waiters station (there were free tables and boots around us). At one point a waitress joined in on our private conversation.
When we were seated we asked could we order drinks while we looked at the menu, we were told no we couldn't, we had to order our food first.
The food looked great but was very tasteless and my partner ordered the supreme of chicken, to say the chicken was tiny, it wouldn't fill a child.
But the best part of the evening was when a male manager and another male member of staff decided to shake out a rug/matt right beside our table, whilst we had food on the table!
As soon as we could we moved to the outside area.More
