I rated this pub as excellent yesterday but got refused service tonight because of being English so do not go here they are racist to us. Even though loads of people in there had a drink but we got treated awfully for being English -...avoid this pubMore
We visited twice during our Dublin stay, first for just somewhere to get some lunch somewhere unique. I ordered the nachos and my husband ordered the steak sandwich. Both were really nice but the steak sandwich wow! It was the best steak sandwich we had...ever had.
The atmosphere and customer service was so nice, you order your drink at the bar and they say “take a seat we will bring it over” which is lovely, it feels more homely and friendly.
We then returned later that evening and drank gin for a few hours which were lovely and served with strawberries and blueberries in the glass. Even tried a cocktail which was great.
Would recommend gin palace!More
My sister and I came here to grab a bit of food on a Friday before heading to the cinema for her birthday. Obviously, being a Friday evening, the place was packed and we were told to wait a minute for them to find us...a seat. That was fine by us, after a few minutes, the waiter came back and added a chair to a table that had only had one chair and we both said thanks. Before leaving, he said "is that ok?", and when I replied "yeah, thanks" he remarked "you should have said thanks so". We sat there for a minute and just stared at each other in shock at how rude he was, all because he hadn't heard us when we said thanks. Unsurprisingly, that put us off and we ended up just getting up and leaving without ordering. I had always walked past and wondered what the place was like, I definitely won't be back and won't be suggesting it to anyone as a place to go.More
Popped in here with a friend for food and a pint after a spot of late night shopping. Just got our orders in before the kitchen closed (approx. 8:30pm). Lovely Victorian bar with table service. Guinness was good as was the half roast chicken and...steak sandwich. I'd come back - although I got chips instead of the garlic potatoes that I'd ordered. Kitchen was closed by then so I didn't bother saying anything. Perhaps they had ran out...More
