What can I say about this place it opens at 6am in the morning. It serves fresh Irish Breakfast, great coffee and does a Proper Irish coffee made with real Irish cream. Alan and Graham and the staff make you feel really welcome here whether you're a solo traveller in a group or a local who works in the area. This place is a must to visit. Genuine great atmosphere and good Irish banter. There is a reason why there is a queue outside to get in 10/10

The Stage Door Cafe was recommended to us by a friend, we were told to expect a decent breakfast and the Irish craic. It delivered on both fronts! On arrival we were greeted at the door by the waiter, a broad Irish speaking young man. He told us there would be a ten minute wait and could we wait outside, he asked us where we were from and we replied Birmingham. He then shouted through the cafe to look after your belongings because Birmingham are coming in. The chef, and I assume owner was working away behind the open counter in the kitchen, he regularly interacts with the customers, I won’t ruin the surprise too much but he is very interested in people’s nationality and whether they are vegetarian or vegan and shows a real interest in people’s preferences, which makes for hilarious conversation. The food was served in good time, it was a good price and a big portion, the Irish breakfast had 2 of everything. As we were leaving there was probably 12 people queuing outside, so it’s clearly a popular choice, and for good reason too. If you are visiting Dublin and you like the craic, you simply can’t miss the place for an unforgettable experience.

My partner and I attended on a Saturday mid morning… probably one of the busiest times given some of the sore heads and yawns taking place around the area from the night before. A short wait outside on the seats to get a table inside (maybe 10mins from four tables worth ahead of us), so not bad! We were ushered inside and to our table into the tightly squeezed but comfortable bar/cafe/someone’s living room come dining room vibe! We were handed the short and to the point menu with equally as short and to the point hospitality from the guy running front of house! Honestly - this sounds bad, but he was friendly and informative, just knows what’s on offer and how to get it to you in a way you know damn well the place is a well oiled machine! Two full Irish breakfasts, one with tea one with coffee sharply arrived after a short wait (not too long not too quick that allowed glancing around and seeing how cheap a pint of Guinness cost when we were born from some of the framed pieces around the room… spoiler alert - WAY cheaper than nowadays on Temple Bar!) The food was what it was! No sparkles or top class ingredients, just regular sausages egg bacon black pudding and all the other bits done well! The coffee was way better than expected given I’m generally the hipster coffee snob type & according to my partner, the brew was up to Yorkshire lass standards. We knew it wouldn’t be a sit around and have another coffee taking our time kind of place (nor would that have been fair to the queue of folk behind us). Again, this was clear with a quick taking of plates and handing the bill at the same time! Know you’re going in and out but gonna have a giggle at and with the staff telling everyone else how the place runs and that’s just how it is, and you’ll have a great time! Don’t go in if that’ll get your back up, but you’ll miss probably the perfect way of recovering from a night on Guinness & Whiskey!

My boyfriend and I went for breakfast here on Sunday 23rd February. The staff are lovely, there was a short wait to be seated because it is a small place but the wait was 100% worth it. We both had an Irish breakfast, both requested our bacon well done and my boyfriend asked for no beans. The bacon was perfect when it came out and because my boyfriend got no beans they gave him extra bacon. It was honestly one of the best breakfasts either of us have had… ever. We gave compliments to the chef, and he told us his name is Ralph. Ralph deserves a raise! Beautiful breakfast, nice place and atmosphere and lovely friendly staff. Plus the doorman/waiter was lovely, gave us a good laugh and was a great character. We didn’t remember to take pictures of the beautiful food because we just wanted to dig in but just take our word for it! Couldn’t recommend more!!

I found stage door on Google when looking for somewhere to have breakfast when we arrived in Dublin as it had already had great reviews. We got there just before 9am and it was already full and it was only a little place. The young lad who was serving asked us to wait outside and he would get us a table. After less than 5 mins we had a table. We ordered 2 full Irish breakfast and scrambled egg on toast. The food arrived quickly, was very fresh and plenty of food. The Irish breakfasts tasted amazing and one of the best breakfasts I have ever had, my daughter has the scrambled egg and she really enjoyed it too. The lad who was serving was very friendly and was having the craic with everyone and what I could tell the other people who worked there was very friendly too. Stage door is a very quirky and charming little place and if you want the best start to your day in Dublin I would go here to get the best breakfast!! Would definitely recommend and would definitely come here again. Keep up the good work lads and keep up the craic!!

Went for breakfast with a couple of friends. Got asked if we were vegans because they ****ing hate vegans. Luckily we are not. I was called a princess for ordering a hot chocolate and they refused to remove the marshmallows! Brilliant. My friend who didn’t want eggs or beans on his breakfast was abused throughout. 10/10 would recommend. The food by the way was fantastic. Service was quick. Awesome.

Five of us went to The Stage Door Café as part of a birthday celebration. We were welcomed into the snug café with a healthy dose of banter and led to a table to look at our menus. We entered into the spirit of the banter with a lot of hilarity and soon the whole café was laughing and joining in. It was the best start to our day and led two of us to return the following morning (once the others had flown home). We had an Irish breakfast and a cheese and bacon omelette, both of which were delicious, and accompanied by the trademark banter and witty repartee. It was one of the highlights of our trip and we thoroughly recommend a visit to this café. Make sure you have your wits about you and your fun head on!

Lovely little cafe, delicious food and fabulous chef! We ordered two Irish breakfasts which were massive and delicious!! Such value for money, the chef/ owner came out and had a chat with all the customers, such a lovely funny man. Highly recommend this place, will be visiting again. You shouldn’t go anywhere else for breakfast!!!

The best Irish breakfast in Dublin! The team is super welcoming, both the waiter and the chef who comes to place the plates himself. A real home-like atmosphere, with the added bonus of having breakfast on the terrace in the heart of the temple bar in good weather.

It’s great to see that this fabulous cafe is still flourishing. A word of warning….don't enter if you are easily offended. There are no topics that are off limits, you just go with the flow! It’s tiny so you may have to queue to get a seat but it’s worth it. The food is good, wholesome and definitely plentiful. We both had an omelette: one with cheese and bacon and the other mushroom and cheese, absolutely huge and served with a decent slice of toast. We left with full bellies and a smile, the chef and waiter were friendly and hilarious. A very memorable breakfast. Situated right next door to our other favourite breakfast venue. Highly recommended.

We came here right as it opened at 6am because our flight got in early and we weren’t able to check into our hotel. Right away, we knew we made the right choice by coming here. We had a delicious breakfast, and the owner is so kind and welcoming that it felt like we were eating a meal at a friend’s home. We will be back for sure, and recommend it to any travelers getting in early and needing a lovely introduction to Dublin.

This place is literally on the next street from our Airbnb. Waited 5mins for a table, to be shown to 1 of the small tables outside (by Graham, the 1 with all the Irish banter!). Not offered menus initially, so I went inside to be advised that I "need to be patient, you're not in England now!" Food was amazing, and the service (with the banter) was also fantastic Highly recommend the Full Irish and the cheese & mushroom omelette Also highly recommend for the banter and warm Irish welcome 🙏

Loved this spot. Came here per a friend’s recommendation and we were glad we did. We came around 11:30am on a Sunday and we had to wait a little bit (the restaurant is quite cozy) but it wasn’t too bad. We each had an Irish breakfast, which you could see being made right in front of the open kitchen. Cash only. Indoor and outdoor dining available. The service was lovely - a bit snarky but all in good humor. I also liked how the food was cooked fresh to each order, so while there was a wait when there was a rush, the patience is worth it.

Al, the Proprieter, is a man of many talents… hospitality, cooking, travel advice and creating a memorable and authentic Irish welcome. He treated my sister and I on Friday morning like Queens and so did his adorable waitress. The food was home made and proper tasty. But this place is far more than just a place to fill your belly, it will make your belly laugh too and even more so if you get an Irish Coffee. Thanks Al and team. You are emerald gem of a place x
