I've stayed at the hotel opposite the J2 Grill many times but only recently visited this restaurant and I regret waiting so long! The food and service was excellent and I intend returning!

Worst Sushi in my life. We went for Dinner to J2, the location is very nice - great view on the river. We ordered couple of Nigiris/Makia/Calli Rolls. Service was nice. I was not expexting too much on the Quality. We received the Sushi and...Soy Sauce in plastic boxes.. no plates at all. The Sushi rice was warm/hot. The fish tasted old.. Honestly the Sushi from the Supermarket is having a better quality then this one. I would not recommand anyone to eat there. I can not judge on the other dishes they offer.More

Living across the river from the North Wall branch of J2, we have made a huge number of visits over the years. Never really disappointed, always four star, sometimes five but with a recent fear that standards may be dropping. The spot lends itself well...to a solo grab and go, a routine couple night out, and even a big family get together. Everybody I have brought here have been impressed. J2 do most of the typical Japanese staples and do them very well. From quality sashimi, sensational tiger roll, innovative crispy salmon with wasabi mash, and cheap and very cheerful wok fried udon. I even broke from the norm and tried the steak they were offering which was only phenomenal. I was sorry to see it go from the new menu! We have popped in several times since the new menu was introduced and this is what prompted this review and the fear of things sliding. We have noticed the prices have escalated while the portion sizes seem to have diminished. Some staples like the miso seem to be of poorer quality. There are a couple indications that care for the customer has lapsed. A new early bird is priced such that it is actually a little more expensive than ordering certain starter and main combinations. The bathroom area could do with a refurb at this stage as needing to visit it diminishes the overall experience of frequenting this tiny establishment. We were recently delighted to be presented with a complimentary plate when we pointed out the shrinkage of the typical seabass serving. We left hoping the not yet laminated menus indicate they are still reviewing changes to dishes and prices. Our current hope is that the management consider the impact of raising prices and lowering expectations has on loyal custom and that our chronic desire to visit this bento sized restaurant is preserved. Small little sushi place where the food is absolutely amazing, the waitresses are lovely and the view is just perfect. We had a lovely dinner there. Thanks for that, we will be back😉

Great location overlooking the river, I stopped in for a midday nosh. I ordered the lunch plate, with a combo of tuna, salmon, eel and shrimp with roe & rice. The tuna and salmon fish were high quality, the eel and shrimp were low quality....Miso starter and tea were OK.More

I’ve had a great dinner of their nigiri tuna, eel, octopus and salmon roe. It was superb! The staff were so attentive too. Next im in dublin i’ll come back for sure!!

Really tasty sushi and other options too. Delicious food, not too expensive, and a lovely riverside location. Tables a bit small and cramped together, but this is a popular place and tries to cater to as many as possible. Food is tasty. Bento box was...a great option, tasty gyozo, and a selection of sushi rolls. Noodles were pronounced good too. Very convenient from the convention center, but worth a detour too. Went here on Wednesday night and the food was as beautiful and tasty as wife on the night ! Great food very reasonable price, Well worth a visit! Have also ordered takeaway from here and is very good.
