We were staying on the other side of Temple Bar area so was a 30min walk away but so worth it. We booked a table on the day for 8pm, after looking at a few places, and the lady over the phone was lovely. Dublin as a whole is quite expensive so it’s hard to find somewhere that isn’t mediocre and has a higher price just because of the location but I can’t compliment this little place enough. The food and wine was lovely and we were well looked after. We had the Duck Parfait and Carpaccio to start then the Steak Frites and Braised Duck Breast as a main (I was going to get the larger stake with the supplement charge) however, the steak I got was cooked perfectly and was so filling I couldn’t have eaten a bigger one. I have a nut allergy and the lady that served us even checked what my boyfriend was having was okay for me to eat incase I wanted to try- I didn’t even have to ask. Water was given as soon as we sat down and a quick explanation of the menu, I even got given a few extra pieces of bread for my parfait once I’d ran out, without having to ask.
This little place with a big personality is what I always hope to find.
It’s attention to detail, customer service and food was exceptional.

We loved our visit to PHX Bistro.
The set menu was great value for money and offered some really delicious food choices.
Marabel was really attentive and we really appreciated being squeezed in last minute.
Lovely restaurant.

Came here based on TA reviews. The food and the service were excellent. We both ordered the price fix app and main. Both apps were great...beef carpaccio and duck liver pate. The mains were also great. My steak frites was cooked perfectly medium rare and the fish and chips were also very good. This is an unpretentious restaurant that serves great food with great service .

Overall our experience was nothing to be remembered, hopefully altogether forgotten. We had arrived almost exactly at 8pm and did not have reservations. They accomadated us pretty well in which we were seated almost upon arrival. The couple we sat next to were obviously over served on alcohol to the point where one of them gagged and ran to the bathroom. We dealt with their presence the for only one treacherous hour. The whole time we sat waiting for our food which arrived an hour and a half after ordering. Knowing that the menu was set for the main dinner to be including desert the wait prompted me to order desert upon receiving our food, hoping that it would not take an hour to make as well. I ordered the steak frites and my wife the sea bass. The food was altogether decent but not worth the wait. My wife and I had high aspirations of going out that same night but having waited that long and having a less than desirable crowd we opted for staying in.

Dear Emilio,
We are sad to read your review..
We happy that we are able to accommodate you without reservation, we sorry to hear about couple next to you as it is out of our control if people cannot handle they alcohol well, you should of ask the staff to move you to a different table, which we glad to do if it is possible on the night. As for the wait: we do not serve main courses until your starter is finished (unless asked otherwise), therefore we were waiting for you to finish the soup, before we send out the main courses.
We hope you will return, and please ask us to serve you your main courses as soon as they are ready, this way you wont have to wait as long.
Kindest regards,
K+I

Arrived here after along trip to Dublin and felt like we had arrived in a Parisian Michelin Star Bistro. The food was exceptional, I had Strip loin and it was the tastiest I’ve ever had and didn’t realise it could be this good. The food was cooked to perfection and the service was impeccable. The staff were tentative, friendly, warm and made us feel comfortable whilst allowing us to enjoy ourselves with perfect attention to detail, simply fabulous! Couldn’t recommend this place enough. The chocolate brownie was akin to a fondant and the cocktails were perfectly mixed! Fine dining at its best, we went back again as we could not find anything similar in Dublin that offered the same value. Don’t miss PHX Bistro if you are in Dublin and a big Thank you to everyone including Natalia & Feridae!

Went here with a group of friends for a very important and personal event. Everything was just perfect! Service was amazing and made our dinner even better: the lady who was serving us was very polite, attentive and cute.
The food was excellent. Every time then I think about Dublin I remember that amazing steak 😀
We took a lot of different dishes, so I was able to try a lot, and honestly every dish was perfect!
As we really enjoyed our dinner in this cozy and amazing place, we decided to come back next day for lunch. Which was also surprisingly amazing. I had fish and chips - very, very delicious 👍🏻

I love this restaurant so much. Every time I’m in Dublin, I go there for lunch. Unfortunately, due to COVID and my own health issues, I haven’t been in Dublin in six months. The main thing I miss is PHX! The staff always do their best to give me my favorite table, the food is simply delicious, the prices are reasonable, and the service is perfect - attentive but not invasive. I am sooooo looking forward to going back whenever I get back to Dublin. I know that, being the kind of people they are, I will feel virus-safe in PHX.

Eating at PHX is always a memorable experience. Their heartfelt dishes are cooked and presented to perfection. Amongst various others, the dish which systematically stands out to me the most is the Duck Liver Parfait. It is served on top of a bed of sourdough toast with a luscious homemade grape chutney. Eating this dish reminds me of those beautiful occasions spent visiting my family during Christmas in Paris. Will definitely be coming back!

We decided to try somewhere that we had not eaten in before and this was just a terrific find. We booked an early evening meal on a Monday night and arrived at 6pm. The staff are very courteous and friendly and while this place appears small from the outside it is not at all cramped. Located on Ellis Quay, the traffic makes the limited outdoor seating less tempting, but we found our table for two by the window very acceptable. My house salad starter was delicious and when staff spotted that my husband could do with a bit more toast for his pâté it was produced without a fuss. He described his free-range chicken as one of the best he'd tasted in a long time and while I was sceptical about how “wild” the mushrooms in my Wild Irish Mushroom risotto were, it was creamy and satisfying.
The menu is varied and good value but I thought the wine was over-priced and I wouldn’t bother with it in future.
We parked in the Smithfield Park Rite car park which is a leisurely 5-minute stroll away. Be warned if you are not familiar with the area use your SatNav to get you safely to the car park in rush hour.

Doing a take away/delivery menu.
We came here regularly when you could actually sit down and the take away menu standard is top notch, it geuinely is sit in restaurant quality. The steak ciabbta is mouth watering and cooked perfectly. Every thing we got was restaurant quality. Now we are 5 mins walking distance so picked up the food and started eating within minutes of it being prepared which of course helps. But again it's such good quality I'm sure it would taste just as good with home delivery.

My Wife and myself went to PHX on the 12th Feburary for dinner. The venue is very nice and the staff were extremely friendly. Sarah who served us was particarly helpful with the menu and gave a professional service. The food was amazing. We both had the prawn starter which was really delious and tasted really fresh. I had the steak with chimichurri for mains and honestly it was the best chimichurri I've had outside of Argintina and the steak was perfectly cooked to my liking. My wife had the duck and she said it was the best duck she ever had. We both had dessert and drinks and the bill was very reasonable for the amount of food and drink we had. We will definitely be returning again. If I had to pick one negitive it would be the lights on the front tables are a little bright but it did not have any effect on our enjoyment of the night.

Our meals at PHX were delicious and the portions were generous. The fixed price for three (or 2) courses makes this an excellent value. We went to this restaurant because of the great gluten free options, but I would favorably compare this restaurant to all restaurants (not just GF restaurants). It is a little off the beaten path, but the walk is with it. Our hostess/server Paula was excellent and the service overall was great. PHX has a very international staff which explains the sophisticated menu with fresh local ingredients, and attentive service.

This is probably one of the best restaurants in Dublin. The staff were so friendly and professional. The restaurant is very, very clean. We had the creamy chicken and garlic bread to start both were fabulous. The hake was so fresh and the green beans were cooked perfectly. The steak frites was cooked perfectly and the fries were real Potatoes not frozen. The creme brulee was excellent. The silverware were sparkling and the water glasses were a nice shape. What a well run restaurant.

Well presented food, tasty, professional and friendly staff.
We both enjoyed our meal at PHX, it's slightly away from the typical tourist haunts, but all the better for it. However as it's only a 2min walk to the Smithfield tram stop this is no issue at all.
It's value for money, good quality food, prepared and sold to you by people who clearly care. Something not often found in tourist Dublin.

Popped into PHX to kill time while we waited for our laundry to be done. Manu looked great so my partner had a burger, which turned out to be the best veggie burger we have ever tried and Cullum was such a great host he kept our food and table while we ran out to sort our laundry. Menu looked great and I wanted a soup so we booked to come back for dinner. The soup was so delicious- Mushroom with truffle oil and Guinness bread that we decided to keep working through the starter menu with the PHX salad...amazing and beef carpaccio. Will definitely beeline to PHX next time we're in Dublin. Amazing food, Wonderful staff and Great atmosphere.
