Have been calling into Searsons on and off for a long time and know what to expect when I go there. Alway good food and a great pint of Guinnes so I always enjoy calling in when in Dublin and have time. Spent a few days in Dublin with the family and with indoor dining just opening back up said we would chance Searsons for food and a pint. Not knowing what to expect called to the door around 8pm of a Tuesday evening, no booking and was shown to table immediately and showing covid certs, etc. No issues encountered whatso ever and the staff were very friendly. Its not easy on staff during these covid times and with only table service available it puts them under massive pressure if things get busy. Food and drink was 10 out of 10. Great pub for food and drink and one off my favorite establishments in Dublin.

We always make a point of visiting Searsons when in Dublin, and it never disappoints. It was a lovely warm day and we had booked a table outdoors in the sun. Great spot for people watching. They are now also open indoors and have a beer garden out the back. I recommend booking ahead as it's almost always busy. Their Guinness is lovely and they have an extensive wine list. If you're a whiskey lover, their wall of whiskey is a sight to behold! The food was all delicious..we tried several items off the menu and everything was top notch. Their chicken wings are our favourite in Dublin. All meals were fresh, piping hot and service was quick, although they were busy. One of the outstanding things about Searsons is the staff, some of which have been there for years..we first discovered here about 10 years ago when living nearby, and many staff are still there and remember us by name, which is a lovely touch. Special thanks to manager Dave, and all the other staff who are friendly, professional and make this one of our favourite pubs to visit.

Absolutely cannot fault Searson’s. This is a family run proper Irish pub with the most excellent service. A friendly Irish welcome. Very clean toilets. I have eaten here a number of times recently and have never been disappointed. The Sunday roast beef must be one of the best plates in Ireland. Cooked beautifully rare and served with Yorkshire pudding, roasties, mash and a selection of premium al dente vegetables in delicious sauces. Be warned though it is a very generous plate and you need to be hungry. The drinks and cocktails are top class, with a good selection of draft craft beers. On this visit I decided to have the burger. It was excellent value at €17. It was a very generous portion. I ordered it because I had had a truly rotten burger in the Merrion Inn a week before and I was almost wondering if I was unfair in my review of that establishment. But the really excellent burger in Searson’s confirmed just what I had missed out on and it was €3 cheaper. Not that it is about the money, I just want good food and a good night out. This burger was so tasty, it was well charred, it along with the chips was piping hot. A well toasted bun. It had 3 delicious crispy slices of bacon and a very generous helping of cheese, along with gherkins and the other usual garnishes. It was such a delight to eat. Yummy, satisfying and delicious. My guests had the fish and chips, two very generous piping hot fillets each in a light, thin and crispy batter. The fish was beautifully fresh and flaky. This is the real thing and just how fish and chips should be done. Again a very generous portion but not lacking in any way in quality. The wine was good and while no wine is cheap in pubs and restaurants in ireland I think the wines here are of a good basic quality and as a result fairly priced, from the ones I have tried. We paid €33 for a bottle of French Languedoc Chardonnay which was very pleasant. The only gripe was that on this occasion the bottle must have been taken from the front of the fridge and was not adequately chilled. As everything else was so good, we were happy to add some ice and still very much enjoyed it. As soon as we used all the ice in the glass, our excellent server bought us more. You can book a table here and it is highly recommended to go on a Sunday evening between 6 and 8.30 when the atmosphere is enhanced by an excellent live jazz band. Fair play to the family owners of this pub, it is a very professionally run class act.

Ireland v Scotland 6 nations match. They refused to show the first 6 nations game with commentary. When asked, they said they play music to make people spend more money on drink. A burger was €5 euro served in tin foil only. If you are a true rugby fan.....avoid.

Hi Alan, Unfortunately there isn't a way to respond directly to your review, that feature seems to be turned off. We were shocked to read your comments yesterday. So far, every 6 nations game has been shown live in Searsons with commentary in 2020. We have also spoken to every staff member on duty over the past two weekends who have no recollection of this conversation happening. Its very disappointing to read your online review and we would be delighted to speak to you further about this. Negative comments like this can have a detrimental effect on our business, and we would appreciate receiving clarity on the situation. We can be reached at info@searsonsbar.ie or 01-660 0330. Regards, Management.

Lovely lunch there today. However the gentleman at the front desk wasnt wearing a mask and made no attempt at eye contact to welcome us just took our telephone number and asked one of the girls to seat us. All of the girls on the floor staff wore screen masks but up on the top of their heads. Kitchen staff wore no masks and the barmen wore no masks. Wasnt a very comfortable customer

We searched out Searson's of Baggot Street for a Sunday brunch near to our hotel. It worked well. The pub is atmospheric, was pleasantly busy on a Sunday at noon and service was efficient. We ordered 3 full Irish breakfasts and one Eggs Benedict that came with pulled ham hock, hollandaise as asked for on the side and a portion of fries. All of us enjoyed the food and thought it very well cooked with the use of quality ingredients. The sourdough toast was also tasty and the prices were very reasonable. We would have no hesitation in returning and it was starting to fill up for lunch as we left. A good find so all good!

I visited here recently. We had planned to have a drink before heading elsewhere but the plates of food passing by looked delicious. I have the seafood linguine which was incredible. We had the sharing Irish cheeseboard for dessert which was nicely presented. After dinner the barman (Ryan) suggested a number of whiskeys which were incredible. Great drink, food and service, A must visit!

Despite pre booking some time before visiting we were given a table at the back of the restaurant which was very cold and draughty. Even eating with coats on we were still cold. The food was average pub grub but we just wanted to leave and go elsewhere to get warmed up! Not a place we would consider returning to.

We went there for lunch. The pub was pretty empty but the service was very slow. We’d to ask twice for drinks whereas the waitresses were waiting next to the counter doing nothing. The food is pretty good, though we had to wait very long whereas we were almost alone. The pie was not grilled enough. The kids menu and the regular one are the same whereas the regular one is double price. Next time I’ll order the kids menu for everyone !!

Have been here several times. Always good. On a Sunday evening they have live jazz between 17:30 & 20:30. We arrived after racing at Naas at about 19:00 and the prospect of a table didn’t look good. I had told my friend that it wouldn’t be necessary to book. I’d forgotten it was mothers’ day though and it was really busy! Fortunately a very helpful waitress came to our rescue and we were sorted. Starter was prawns with chorizo in piri-piri sauce followed by pan-fried cod with broccoli and crushed baby potatoes. Accompanied by excellent Guinness. Superb with excellent service. I was having trouble with a debit card and the young waitress was particularly helpful. The music was brilliant too!

The food was nice but every staff member was wearing their masks on top of their head like a cap and they weren't social distancing from each other or customers. Disappointing considering they have the appropriate gear. Would also agree with below review that the gentlemen at the door did not make eye contact and again, had no mask or sanitiser. Made us feel very uneasy which took the joy out of our, otherwise, tasty lunch. Something that can be approved upon however and would not be deterred from visiting again once staff use their protective gear properly.

Had our Christmas celebration here on Friday night. Just to say, won't be having it here next year. Menu / food was OK but somewhat overpriced. Had items charged on our bill that were not ours, had them removed, with much negotiation and insistence. 4 large bottles of Ballygowan were on the tables during dinner, we didn't request these but were charged for them. One would expect these to be complimentary, at least, given the price of the meal. Overall, unsatisfactory. Requested a reserved area for drinks after meal which was perfect.

My husband and I ate here, after it was recommended to us by a local at our hotel down the street. The food was delicious - I had the roast chicken and my husband had the fish & chips. The atmosphere is quaint and fun, and I'm sure it's even more so with games on. The service wasn't amazing- big gaps between drinks being delivered (so much so that I thought she forgot about my 2nd beer!), but they were all very nice.

There's busy and then theres Searsons. Crowded. Loud. We ate here, both my friends ordered Shepherds pie and left them both uneaten. I had the Seafood Tagliatelle which was actually very nice. The busyness means the service is shoddy. The food plates were almost thrown on the table. The waitress was too busy to really give us good service, and there was a lot of "excuse me, can we..." just to get the waitresses attention. I hear this place is a big part of the "scene" with all the tech companies and there young employees

Attentive service, and a full house so the buzz was good. Food was piping hot and super tasty, I had the half roast chicken - a great feed and good price point for Dublin. Would recommend if in the area for food or just a drink.
