I am completely confused as to how (or why) a well known (and largely respected) Irish restaurant critic could, recently, write a negatively-biased review on this truly superb dining brand. I was in Dublin for a few days and Asador is always in my dining...diary. 6 of us celebrated a family reunion. ALL SIX of us had starters (the crab on sourdough bread is spectacular), main courses and 4 desserts. NONE of US (ie 6 'difficult to please diners - including my over-fussy sister) had even the slightest complaint. Not one. ALL of us did however individually comment on how great the food, staff and restaurant is. Not one complaint. About anything. And the restaurant was completely full. On a Tuesday night. In the 'graveyard' month (for restaurants) of January. So thank you to all the staff for making this special family occasion so memorable. I know everybody is entitled to their personal opinions but surely a restaurant of this quality is entitled to a fairer (and more balanced) review. Particularly from those who make a living from reviewing dining venues in Ireland. This is a very difficult sector to make a living and the negative impact of a poor review can translate into making this journey substantially more difficult. Suppliers, bankers, customer-flow/decisions etc read and respond to such reviews. I don't expect restaurant critics to only write positive reviews BUT I have dined in many many hundreds of restaurants in my 50+ years of sicial/business dining. In many countries/cities. And trust me. ASADOR is one of Dublin/Ireland's finest. Finally I will add that I have NO equity nor passive income/benefits from being an Asador fan. I write bad reviews of those warranting them. So my words are from my experience of this great restaurant.More

Consistently, consistently great. Service is really good and the food is simple and excellent. Is it expensive? Yes but worth it. Been coming here for years and they do what they do very well.

Very overpriced. We had a christmas party here recently and we could not believe the size of the food for the amount of money we paid. We were still hungry after our meal. The lady taking the payment was very rude and was nearly screaming...at us.More

Love this restaurant. Great food. The crab starter on sourdough was gorgeous and my steak was so delicious and cooked to perfection. The staff were so nice and a great ambiance. Can’t wait to go back.

I stumbled across Asador as I was walking through the Ballsbridge neighborhood near my hotel, looking for dinner. The a la carte menu sounded tempting. Though it was past 9 pm and I was alone, I was warmly welcomed and seated at once. The restaurant...seemed relatively busy for a Thursday night after the dinner hour. The Terrace was busy and a bit noisy, but the interior of the restaurant was quiet enough that I didn't have to raise my voice to speak to the server. My beef carpaccio was perfectly cooked and attractively presented. The baby gem salad was a tasty accompaniment. It was just the right meal for my jet-lagged system. The service was friendly and unobtrusive, though I did have to signal several times to get my water glass refilled. I felt so relaxed after dinner that I indulged in a dessert suggested by the server, three small scoops of assorted ice creams. Though I did see one family with a young child, I'd recommend Asador to adults who love barbecued meats and seafood and are looking for a leisurely, intimate place to dine.More

Asador restaurant has always been a hot favourite of mine. A place where you go for excellent food, at fair prices, with super staff, and always buzzy. Its sphere of appeal runs across all social, business, and age categories. Truly a must-visit restaurant. Over the...past few years, the number of days I have been in Ireland has reduced significantly. As have my opportunities to enjoy those wonderful dining visits to Asador The Summer 2023 has/will cause me to be in Dublin for up to 5 weeks. Asador was/is an obvious dining venue for these visits. I will now keep my comments brief. The extent to which Asador was in the past full of superlatives, has been exceeded. If such is possible. It is now beyond excellent. The new chef Robert, has been a real find. The staff, while some are new, are as excellent as ever. The menu options are 'tight' but ALL are of the highest culinary standards. And while the prices are at the high end of mid-range, this restaurant competes with the best that Dublin can offer - and there are SO many excellent high-end restaurants in the City. I truly cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. A very special place for whatever occasion (business or social) you want to celebrate.More

A group of Irish realtors needed the charm that flows endlessly from my lil'ole expense account this time. Now these guys are so 5* so there's no choice but to go the whole 9 yards with them! A classy joint with really good food and,...the weather being fantastic, an outdoor area was needed. The super Maitre'd had reserved the terrace, a lovely enclosed bit of the sidewalk (yeah, the sidewalk) that works really well. Not Santorini cliff-top stunning but hey, its Ballsbridge where most of the lanscape countours come from Botox rather than volcanoes. The table was beautifully set and with loads of glass both on the draught screens and table and good lighting the whole place sparkled. I was going to give my dudes full run at the menu but Ramona recommended a simpler approach of a prix fixe at €69; 4 starters, swordfish or fillet steak as mains, 4 desserts. Sides of veg and such were extra. Watching my curves as ever I stayed with the prawns and swordfish. They were superb. As the name over the door suggests the food is flamed on a barbeque. Great service, great food and good wines. Now Asodor is not cheap. If you want that go to Burger King around the corner. We knocked it out at about €130 a head for everything, and no holes barred these guys can knock it back. (I have abounty out for the soak who knocked back 8 Monkey 47's!); but it is Dublin's embassy belt. And to judge from how quiet the surrounding pubs were drinking and going out in theis neighbourhood is dying a death. But if you want a special night out with atmosphere, quality food and service Asodor is special. Well worth it. And hey, it ain't easy running a good joint these days! I've gotta bring the boss here when he's flies in next time!More

We haven’t been to Asador in a few years & have never had lunch there before (only dinner) & it did not disappoint! The sommelier brought us the last 2010 Vina Tondonia Reserva (2011 on the menu) which was unreal! We ordered the Prawns Pil...Pil & Pan con Tomate to share for starters. Great start to the meal. We both had Delmonico steaks for our mains with chimichurri & pepper sauce, both incredible. Finished with two Whiskey Sours for dessert 👩🏼‍🍳💋More

First came here in 2019 and this is our first chance since covid to come back to Dublin and revisit. The welcome and atmosphere was as warm as ever. We were on the terrace which had a great ambiance. A reasonable sized menu; sometimes restaurants...can go overboard with too much choice but this was just right to help with decision making. Food was really good, beautifully cooked and well presented. Certainly one to try. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.More

We had booked Asador for 8.00 pm, but arrived almost 25 minutes early. Great news, this was not a problem. Great start. The waiter was with us very quickly with the menus, food, wine, cocktails. While the food menu is quite small, it more than...makes up for with quality. We choose the chicken wings for starter, excellent choice, then my wife had the burger and I had the 12-oz Delmonico steak. My wife thought the burger was excellent, and my steak was cooked exactly as ordered and was exceptionally tasty. For dessert, we chose to share the cheeseboard, as we were quite full from the starters and mains. We had the Malbec Zorzal wine, another great choice. The waiting staff were very friendly, informative and attentive. I am not sure about car parking in the area, we used public transport, but as it is situated on quite a busy street, it may prove a little difficult. And while this venue is not on the less expensive side, it is certainly great value for money. Would certainly recommend, and will return soon, hopefully!More

Sorry for late reply. If you put Haddington Road church into GPS or give taxi that location - Asador is diagonally across the road (to left if you have your back to the church)
