living on a sailboat like my wife and i do we like to eat in ports we visit along with our crew ,so we selected this pub ,it was a great choice ,great music

We went here for different purposes across a weekend. One night they had a live musician, singing and drinks flying off the bar. The next day we had dinner here. We had the chicken and the burger, both wonderful! The chicken was juicy with crispy...skin and the burger was flavorfull. Lastly we were here an afternoon to grab a beer and a coffee. The prices are fair. The place is packed most nights. Food is good. A+ atmosphere. It's crowded, the bathrooms are not often cleaned and you might be spat on by Irishmen singing and rocking on their shairs. To me, that is the way it should be.More

Great pub! Good food, friendly staff. Nice and clean bathroom. Very central and close to everything. I highly recommend this place.

Live music. Full of people dancing and singing. You need to be strong and patient to get a pint at the bar but overall the atmosphere was impressive. Good selection of draft beers, which is something normal in Dublin

Lovely traditional (yet quirky) Irish pub with friendly/ eccentric locals and live music. Reasonably priced drinks.

Honestly, sat on posting this for a few days so it wasn't written while in bad form about the Celt. We were going to the Ireland vs ABs on Saturday. We dropped in here for a meal and a pint pre-game. Sat down and had...our order in at 12.53pm. (I was keeping a very close eye on the clock as it's a 45 minute walk to the Aviva). Our food did not arrive until 1.45pm. There was a whole handlin' even getting to that point. We asked 3 different members of staff where our food was. Barman clearly couldn't have cared less as he spoke to no-one other than his heads sitting down at the bar. Staff member #2 didn't chase up. Staff member #3 was the lady who took our order originally. Her face clearly indicated she had forgotten and told us "2 minutes". This was at 1.30. I then had to watch the same food item I'd ordered sail past my by-now-starved-face and go to another table who had come in a full 20 minutes after us. We had our jackets on and were leaving when the food was rushed out. No apology was offered. No offer to knock down the price or a free drink. Quite frankly, if the food had arrived on time this place was worthy of 5 stars. And I'd have become a repeat customer and recommended the bar as such. An apology/price change might have bumped it back up to a three. As it stands, The Celt has the dubious honour of being only the 2nd-star review I've ever given out of over 50 such reviews. The only recommendations to be offered would be "beware".More

Great service, friendly staff, top notch all around. As a solo traveler from the States I felt totally safe in the Celt, lots of locals, listen and learn a ton of Irish history. Music nightly.
