Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Not the first time I have visited Rudys, A friend & I called early afternoon on Sunday 26th August 2023 for lunch. The staff were really friendly and accomodating. There were very few customers in when we arrived but shortly afterwards a number arrived and...sat near us. Not a problem usually but they came in to wtach a football match and the TV was raised in volume for them This was the only reason I did not give a full 5 stars for our visit as the noise of the football made it very uncomfortable to stay We had our lunch and left. Food was excellent and well presented Will I be back, probably, but not if there is football on, I go to a pub to relax, if I want to watch a game, I'll stay at homeMore

Simply the best bar in Rathmines . The food was great, the beer was cool and the welcome was warm. I’ve been eating and drinking here for many years. I’d highly recommend.

A very disappointing Saturday night meal. We ordered lamb shank with veg and a lasagna. We waited for about 50 mins for our food. When it was eventually served, we had to ask for the cutlery so we could eat it, another 5 mins. The...potatoes and veg served with the lamb were cold. We were given another portion of mashed potatoes which tasted like they’d be reheated a few times. The lasagna was far too salty. We definitely won’t be returning there to eat in the future .More

The food here is just amazing, I was there on Paddy's day and we both had a beautiful Roast Pork dinner. As usual the food was excellent and the staff so attentive and professional, it was a crazy busy day in there, large groups of...people and all around Paddy's day and Cheltenham mayhem. The staff took it all in their stride and never missed a beat. Drinks and food were served without delay. I honestly don't know how the waiting staff weaved their way through the happy revellers and never dropped a plate. We were there again yesterday evening Saturday 25 March 2023. Again amazing service. Per the waiter's recommendation I chose the special which was Chicken Madras...wow...it was just gorgeous. Quite a large portion and let me tell you, they do not skimp on the chicken. I have been in other places where sometimes the chicken is a wee bit skimped on and the meal is bumped up with vegetables instead, not in Rody Boland's you get a load of chicken but also a healthy content of vegetables. If you want a really good meal and friendly service go to Rody Boland's. If you want just a pint or a drink and friendly service go to Rody Boland's. I cannot recommend it highly enough, it has it all.More

Excellent bar. Great atmosphere. The food and wine were both lovely. Staff are a credit to the place, nothing was a bother to them! If I had to fault it, I would say the chips could definitely be better.

Went here for soccer on Sunday and had the best time. Ordered the wrap and soup and it was just delicious!! Very filling and a great price for what you're getting. Also the nachos were to die for. Keith was amazing and ran the floor...like a pro, we were never left waiting for anything. It was really busy and he did a great job. We will be back.More

Avoid if you are a sports fan. Was planning to watch all World Cup games there No sound for matches 1 bar man for 2 hours Official rule all TV’s off after games so no highlights as per the main bar man Very dissatisfied in...what used to be a great bar for sport GAA, Soccer, Rugby At temple bar prices, €6.50 a lager, you’re better off anywhere else with a tv in rathmines Very disappointed While I’m at it decor needs upgrading, the same chairs since the start of the centuryMore

We were only in Dublin for 2 nights and wanted a good recommendation for dinner. Our "hosts" at the apartment we rented recommended Rody Bolands. We are SOOO glad he did. We all ordered something different and all of us LOVED our food. Everything was...so delicious. The nachos were unusual and so yummy (made with nacho cheese doritos) Burgers, curry, wrap, all so good. Dessert (make room for this) was to die for...some carmel cake and then a brownie bomb. We loved EVERY taste of it. Would HIGHLY recommend and hope to go back some day.More

I've been a customer for close to 30 years and can honestly stay have never had a bad night there. It's a family run premises who have always put their customers first. Staff are friendly and hard working, food is excellent and the atmosphere (...pre covid ) was brilliant. They have spent a lot of money making it a very safe and spacious pub during this Covid pandemic and ensure you have a pleasant experience. A great place to watch sports especially the Gaa. Would highly recommend.More
