The place is quite small to move around so you feel like when people walk around they bounce of you. The food was fine but nothing I would recommend to go for again.

Have been here a number of times and its really very hit and miss. The bar staff I find are a little slow and have a bit of an attitude about them. The pub itself is nice, very easy. Seats not the most comfortable unless...you get the sofa. Keep away from the table at the corner door, during the winter. It has a very mix bag of people but I think more student with all the foreign language schools around and also DIT, Dropped in for a bite to eat before a play. The fish and chips I order was so, so. Batter a bit much and greasy, overcooked for me. Chips nice but cold, but small for the price. Glass of wine is pricey here. The place when we eat was full and was rather loud with students, which was not enjoyable....More

Had some of the best craft ale in here, definitely recommend the siren white stout and the sour range. Staff very helpful, even when the bar was heaving. Went back second day when it was quieter and very comfortable again

I stopped in the Black Sheep on the 2nd January as my daughter is moving into to a flat near by. I thought the place looked very inviting and liked the idea of some bar food, in the hope I could recommend the place to...my daughter and her friends. I ordered Vegan Red Lentil Chilli which I love and a glass of Cava. I was served initially by a delightful girl called Larissa. When I received the chilli it was a miserable portion and it was cold. It was served in a tiny bowl which was 3/4 rice and 1/4 chilli. The barman Cormac was so unpleasant when I asked if it was possible to have some more. He was begrudging and very rude. He nearly reduced me to tears but I was hungry so I ate the food. A bowl of chilli is €14?? It was more like a teacup. I wondered if it was just me and maybe I was tired and cranky but I observed him being equally rude to a group of tourists, who, when they asked if they had a choice when it came to having a glass of whiskey were told no!!!! This is Dublin is it not? Anyway I finished and asked for the bill. I couldn't wait to leave. They tried to charge me an extra €2 for the additional chilli. I refused to pay the additional charge given my experience. Thank you Larissa for being so pleasant. Cormac it is just not good enough to treat customers in that manner.More

tasty burgers and great craft beer. worth visiting and coming back. great place for meeting with friends

We tried a couple of their own Galway Bay Brewery Beers and they were really good. There was a great atmosphere with lots of Christmas groups in.

I am not a Vegan but there are a good number of Vegan Choices on the Menu. As I am a chilli fan I ordered the Red Lentil Chilli. A good bowl of nicely spiced chilli perfect for a wet Dublin Afternoon...Served promptly with a...couple or Real Ales...Will return in the evening to sample more beers and foodMore

There are very few places in city centre where you can go with either your parents, kids on sunday afternoon, or with your best mates on a night out where you're 100% sure you'll have some good craic, staff is always very friendly. Food is...beautiful, their fish and chips (home cut, real, generous, well cooked crusty chips!) is so fresh and nice, their craft beers are brillant, good selection of whiskeys and spirits. Big tables, generous spaces, board games on offer. It is the kind of place everyone whished to have around the corner. I'm lucky to have it round mine! :)More

I particularly liked the kumara (sweet potato) fries. Good draught cider and a good range of beers. A nice atmosphere!
