We only stopped for a drink. The atmosphere is as good as a pub gets. The service was wonderful. The bartender was talkative and told us about the local area. This pub was recommended to us by a local and you could see the locals go to it. We didn't eat, so I can't say anything about the food.

We had lunch at this authentic Pub and found it one of the most memorable meals of our entire stay in Ireland. The Classic Onion Soup was outstanding, and as good as what I had in Paris. The Panko breaded Haddoc was cooked to perfection, and the service was superb. We would go back in a heartbeat.

We nipped in for a quick, late lunch in the Old Bar which was busy enough with people watching the golf but we found a table in the nook at the entrance. We were greeted, drinks order taken & on arrival we ordered the food. The waitress was experienced ~ friendly & efficient. We decided on fish ~ my husband... More

Six of us stopped in for a lunch on a Friday. There was a buzz to the place, nearly full to capacity, so we were fortunate to get a table. The first waitress we had was not smiling or friendly but another waitress served the dessert and she was delightful. Luck of the draw there. The food was fine and... More

Found ourselves in Finnegans for a drink and having not been before it was clear to me that this was a very popular venue for lunch. We grabbed the last table, of which there are many and ordered some beers. Fresh fish on the menu was baked hake which I didn't have but it looked amazing and my companions both... More

Was in there today, and I know it was paddies day but the service was terrible. Was stood at the bar for about 20 min before giving up and leaving. It was only 3 in the day, but i was pretty invisible. In fairness, there were a couple of girls that were running around, but there was a big guy in... More

Bono (U2) entertained Michelle Obama at this pub and I can see why he recommended it. The perfect spot for a drink after a long walk. Terrific atmosphere, friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Had lunch here on Saturday. Still like it as a pub but food has really disimproved in the last year. Overdone, tough steak & kidney, baby food mush veg, tired tasteless smoked salmon on average brown bread. Really need to pull their socks up and it's expensive.

This is one of friends local pubs, so they took us along while we were visiting them. It as not too busy and we got table service ... which was great considering we were only having drinks and crisps. Apparently this was a favourite hang out for Maeve Binchy and there is a picture of her on the wall in... More
