Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The carvery in bar 51 can’t be faulted. Myself and partner ordered the beef and the turkey, there was plenty of turkey and roast beef on each plate. The beef was so tender and the turkey was cooked to perfection. The veg was fresh and...the roasters and mash potatoes were equally beautiful. The chef was a lovely guy and made sure your plate was as full as you wished and the presentation was also lovely. Unlike other pubs that offer a carvery and just slap everything on top of each other. Bar 51 is definitely my go to place from now on for carvery and at €14.90 it’s not priced bad either. They also offer a click and collect which was extremely busy when we arrived with people collecting dinners, this shows it’s well worth a visit.More

Head down here from work its very handy and the food is good quality without the pretentions you get in Dublin these days. The prices are good too for a small mains its 10 and 13 for a larger plate.

We often go here for Sunday carvery which is served till about 5. There do large and small plates. The small plate is plenty big for me. Food always tastes lovely and fresh and really warm. The staff are great at clearing plates away and...will serve drinks at table. There are always plenty of families here on Sunday.More

The food was nice but the chef serves small portions, I got six chips on a dinner. Sometime there is another chef there and you get good size portions. I will not be purchasing dinner there when that chef is there

We were staying in the area and arrived here on a very rainy evening. We got the usual nice greeting from the staff who also gave a great service. We really enjoyed the excellent meal deal of the chicken curry and chicken goujons with chips...all of which were very tasty and plentiful. The accompanying Guinnesses and wines hit the right notes. This pub provides great value and is well worth a visit, we’ll be back.More

We went here a couple of times during our stay. The staff were always very welcoming and accommodating with your needs. We wanted to watch the National - no problem. Another time it was football - no problem. The drinks were so reasonably priced at...4.50 a pint and there was a good deal where you could get a meal and a drink for 11 euros. The pub also serves the most amazing Sunday carvery which we were so disappointed to miss. Special mention to Connor who was a great barman and so too was the friendly guy who worked on the 8 April. Great times were spent here.More

I was meeting a friend after work and we wanted something close to where we both work, which is how I came across bar 51. The interior is spacious with a cosy feel. The staff, particularly the bar man, were very polite and friendly. The...food was just what we were looking for, something simple but tasty and quite generous portions. They also have drink specials!! We’ll definitely be back again.More

Typical Irish place. Sometimes go here for lunch with colleagues. They seem to love it but I don't. Food is very bland and you have to queue up for awhile to get it. The portions are big but taste wise could be better. The atmosphere...is fine but the place lacks character. Could be any other place and you wouldn't know the difference. Best to queue for the carvery or hot food, as getting a sandwich takes even longer. Sometimes the carvery food is not even hot.More
