Have been a Matt The Thresher fan long before Michelle Obama made it one of her favourites. In the package you get everything. Staff, friendly and excellent. Ambiance, beautiful balance between modern and old. Food, the best, brilliant, super (yes all those superlatives) - particularly...More

Although the mussels were the main attraction, seafood chowder and the sea trout were also high up in great tasting food. Very cozy ambience and easy to get at.

Great service and one of the best in Dublin. Anita at the bar ( we had no reservations so we ate at bar) provided smiles, advice and fast service.

We were looking for a nice restaurant to have a seafood neal. Matt the Thresher did not disappoint. Very friendly service and our meals were delicious. They took us without a reservation which was a bonus.

We enjoyed the atmosphere, service and delicious food in this interesting place on our last night in Ireland. After all the countries' favorites, it was good to enjoy some refined dishes.

I would say no, primarily because a) high heels and b) the Irish weather . I am sure Tom will only be too happy to arrange a cab which would be no more than €10 (I'd imagine) ... enjoy your trip
