Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was very excited when I heard that the Chop House had taken over Mulligans and could not wait to go. So being my birthday I booked it for Sunday evening. We arrived 7pm and as it happened we did not need to book and...it became apparent why. There were 8 people in the place two others eating and ourselves. We ordered starters and to be fair they were tasty however my chicken wings were cold. We then both ordered fish and chips well what a let down the menu said twice cook chips and the fish was to be a light batter you would not believe it both were frozen and the batter on the fish was nothing but light we sent them back and we’re offered a desert on the house which we declined and when the bill came we thought something would be deducted but that was not the case. Very disappointing all around.More

Cannot recommend. Terrible waiting staff who were clueless and untrained. After waiting 30mins for eggs Benedict which was verging on cold, we had to ask for cutlery which then came without napkins which we then had to subsequently also request as well as condiments. It...wasn’t even busy! The waiting staff did not know what the one special was on the board. Waiting staff need training on basic customer interaction such as speaking and smiling! Are these glowing reviews online from genuine customers?More

Shame that they now call themselves “The Chophouse” after a transfer of ownership, as the experience in both Chophouses are polar opposites. The team, food, and atmosphere could not be more different, with The Chophouse on Shelbourne Road being the far more superior venue. Hopefully...the new one in Sandymount can greatly improve over the coming months and it would be a shame for it to deter new customers from visiting the original Chophouse which never disappoints.More

Really nice food and service in general was very pleasant. The “manager” was horrible and really very rude a bit like a Gordon Ramsey want to be without the restaurant or reputation to back up the massive chip on the shoulder

We were hungry, had spent an hour getting there, my friend's first time in Sandymount. We saw a pub, wondered if they did food. Greeter said no booking/no problem. A cheerful chap greeted us as we were shown to our table. Suddenly, he shouted NO!...All tables are booked, eat outside if you want but there's no table available in here. I was shocked and embarrassed, said its ok, we'll go elsewhere, to which he yelled "that's your prerogative!" at our retreating backs. Mortified. Ps. We ate well at a local restaurant with beautiful service and no aggressive yelling.More

It was a busy evening and we hadn’t booked but my husband and I were given a small table which was squeezed in between two high tables (each of 4) on one side of us and a table of 8 on the other side -...even the waiting staff struggled to squeeze between our table to serve the tables around us. The menu is underwhelming with limited appeal. My husband chose the hamburger which was ok but the French fries were lukewarm; I chose a starter only of a seafood platter which was tasty. No-one attended to us after this - not even to ask us if the meal was ok etc. and when we asked for the bill the waitress couldn’t remember what we ordered and then asked us to tell her. She then produced a bill for the wrong food and apologised but it left us thinking that there is limited focus on the customer. The focus is on squeezing in as many punters as possible irrespective of the latter’s experience. There was an air of chaos throughout the pub and we didn’t leave having had an enjoyable and relaxed experience, it just felt like a relief to get out. Suffice to say, we won’t be coming back.More

This place was great for a good pub dinner, had the tacos & chips and they were lovely! The staff were super friendly and one of them said it was her first shift and she did an excellent job.

Lovely pub and village however…. When you’re paying €6.20 for a bottle of Peroni I expect it cold. To be told it’s the same fridge isn’t really the point if the beer is not served at its best. I understand sometimes staff don’t rotate the...bottles or a door gets left open but very disappointing when the same staff get shirty just because you want a cold one! I can get a warm one for €1 in Tescos. Of course the attitude could be why don’t you. 🤔More

Met friends for a catch up and a bit to eat. The food was very disappointing. The burger bun had obviously been defrosted, the twice cooked chips tasted like they had been cooked the day before and reheated. Very poor meal on the plus side...the table service was very good.More

Our second visit here, this time for some lunch and drinks before Leinster v Ulster at the Aviva Stadium. The food was first class - the prawns and chorizo was amazing and the striploin steak was excellent too. Great pre-match atmosphere too.

I would Highly recommend Mulligans for the very warm welcome, fantastic food and brilliant customer service. There were eight of us at our table and not a single fault. Everyones food was delicious and the drinks were great, perfect Guinness! The atmosphere was top notch...and every single staff member was smiling, so polite and couldn't do enough for us. Extremely good value for money.More

Was in Dublin for the match and decided to head in to mulligans for some food and drinks . It was myself , my girlfriend and another couple . As soon as we walked in the door we were made feel welcome. The food was...astonishing and Guinness was on point . A big thanks to Neil and all the staff for giving us such a warm welcome . Was worth the trip from Galway for the atmosphere , the food and the craic .More

Sunday lunchtime and a full menu and 2 bar staff on. One very inexperienced, one average. Had to wait for someone at bar and one order forgotten, due to pressure. Not the fault of staff but management maximising EBITDA and minimising customer experience. This management...approach only works for a while as customers don’t return and profits fall. Other than that major fault a nice pub if pricey.More
