Lovely food and a warm welcome from the staff! The staff made us feel very welcome and were very helpful. Such a vibrant atmosphere
Food was lovely but the toilets are absolutely mank and we went for food at half 7 so no excuse. Service was absolutely appalling - the servers hadnt a clue. We ordered a bottle of wine and got 2 different size glasses and then we...requested the same size glasses and they just got fecked onto the table. We werent even offered the coffees we had prepaid for, we had to ask for them and even when we got them it was a half cup of coffee, far too long a day to argue with the servers who obviously are not being paid enough because they didnt take pride in their job. Wont be back - good luck. Will spend our hard earned money elsewhere. And 30 quid for the cheapest bottle of wine - where are ye going ?More
My wife and I went to dinner at the Harbourside. She had fish and chips and I had the steak dinner. Both were delicious. Our waiter was attentive and the the value for the price was good.
Busy spot, well located, friendly staff. The toilets unfortunately are something like I have not seen in many many years in an establishment. Malodorous, one door out of four with a working lock. Appalling to be honest, that the owners would consider these facilities standard....I worked in Dublin City centre in the late 90’s and these toilets are what would have been considered ‘the norm’ then. Not now. I am glad I was not eating in the Harbourmaster , only meeting my sister for a brief drink, as I am a firm believer in the piece that an establishments hygiene standards in the toilets are reflective of their kitchen standards.More
Went for a 1 o clock lunch with the wife and her sister. All 3 of us ordered the chicken curry. I have never seen a smaller portion served, and you would see more chicken on a Turkey. Miserable portions. €16 and I left starving....And the red haired lad who fancies himself as a bartender/ server is a flute.More
Everything was great! Great food, drinks, staff, service and atmosphere! Warm and Cozy! We went there a total of 3 times on our holiday!
I visited the harbour master bar and restaurant on Friday the 25th November , we were greeted by a lovely girl with dark black hair we had 2 additional friends with us to add to our booking but she was still happy to accommodate us...very friendly chatty girl was happy to have a chat with us for a few minutes after seating us to our table, our waiter with blonde hair was very alert and attentive to us all night long I ordered the chicken tomato pasta which was 10/10 great portion sizes and very fast to be served . This was my first visit to the harbour master and it definitely won’t be my last would 100% recommend to a friend :)More
Was brought here by my partner for my birthday. Food order was taken after a short while along with drinks order. We had to ask 3 times where our drinks where. Food was finished before we got our first drink or water!! My drink arrived...when everyone had finished their drink and not even an apology for delay nothing... By the time I got my drink I sipped at it beacause everyone was ready to leave and couldn't tolerate any more. I emailed the restaurant that night and 4 days later not even a response. Very bad form and wouldn't recommend in the slightest. Judging by the reviews of people who had similar experiences.More
I visited with my friend from the front of house who was extremely friendly to our waiter Lee the service, food and attention to all detail was 1st class
Had pil pil prawn starter ...delicious still bubbling when it came to the table . Catch of the day with chips peas and tartre sauce ...let down to say the least the peas came in the tiniest ramekin I've ever seen barely more than a...teaspoon in volume fish was cod but the batter was thick which meant I was scraping bits of stodgy batter off and even worse frozen skinny fries at almost 18 euro a portion I'd have expected hand cut chips to be honest. The wait staff were great attentive and quick with the exception of the gentleman that came to tell us our table was required in 15 minutes...very very loudly, made everyone feel like a schoolchild being scolded and he was also quite sharp with the other wait staff when he messed up our drinks order and they tried to give him a heads up . Overall its a shame because a few tweeks and I'd have rated 5 plenty other places with probably better value in the areaMore
Food was nice (not matching of price tho!) and good location next to the station. Service not the best tho, missed out on dessert as got fed up of being ignored.
Called in after arriving off the train at Connolly, we were heading to Garth Brooks and fancied a bite to eat with a few drinks. No tables initially but we grabbed a drink and waited. Waited about 30mins and then we’re seated In restaurant. Ordered...and food arrived within 10mins. Food was really tasty and great service. Country music playing in background to get us in the mood. Great spot if looking somewhere handy to the train.More
As a family of 6 we came to the harbourmaster for a celebratory family meal , I had been before and it’s gastropub food , far from top notch but the location was convenient and it would have something for everyone, Well how wrong was...I ! The restaurant was not very full at all , I’d imagine 1 quarter of the tables in use , plenty of staff yet had to wait quite a while and ask somebody to take our order , my food when eventually arrived , arrived cold , drinks had to be asked for again and again and again , which eventually I just took myself up to the bar as the person we were celebrating was left for a long time just sitting with no drink in front of him , it was a farce Cocktails advertised were not available and the ones that were looked absolutely nothing like the picture . The manager when asked about a particular cocktail ingredient seemed quite perturbed, as if how dare we ask , his customer service skills need brushing up , Bathrooms are dated and aren’t very appealing ( smell awful ) I’ll never be back !More
5 of us went to the Harbourmaster Bar on Friday last 12 August for dinner before the theatre. It was a serious disappointment. The music, if it can be called that, was blaring so much so that we could not have a conversation. I asked...the waiter if he could have it turned down. Nothing happened so I approached him again and reiterated my request. This time he turned it off which I would say was a relief to everybody. I asked him for additional napkins which he threw on the table as I appeared to have offended him. 3 of us ordered wings which were dry and appeared to have been reheated. All in all it could have spoiled our night but we did not allow that to happen. I wont be returning.More
