Overall we had 5 dishes. I tasted all of them and quality / tast only just about average. There are MUCH better options than this place

Hi. We have used kanum regularly for approx 6yrs, not without issue but normally common sense resolves issues. At Christmas we ordered a takeaway for the fmaily. The delivery driver arrived, thrust two bags in through the door that promptly fell thro the base of...the bags to the hall mat and runner. This isnt the first time the food has arrived in this hap hazard manner. On the last occasion the lad was terribly sorry and helped mop up the mess. On this occasion the driver ran shouting it wasn't his fault, it was my fault. Each driver can repack the takeaway as the business provides them with spare bags, the driver chose not to repacked the order in fresh bags. The manager arrived with replacement meal, said they v busy and stood by the story the driver had told that the customer had been aware of the leakage and hadn't put a hand under the bags. Frankly after 6 yrs plus using the place I was disgusted at there lies and said they can pay for the damage to the runner and mat. The manager agreed. Invoices submitted in January 2022 for the damage.... No response from Kanum Thai. Its upsetting they don't value their customersMore
Third time getting takeaway from here. Enough to establish a pattern. Dismal food , dull and uninteresting. Such a shame as Thai should be bright and fresh. To cap it all, the chicken meat was reheated. Inexcusable as this cooking is fast.
I love this place. I got the Singapore Fried rice without onions or scallions and I have to say it was the best I have ever had. Absolutely top quality. Can’t wait to go back.
Visited this restaurant with my friends who were all extremely disappointed with this flavourless food which was extremely overpriced. We all ordered the pad prick haeng (12.50 for uncooked vegetables), in addition to chips and noodles (egg noodles and they weren’t labelled as such). Chips...were nice, but there is a chipper next door which is better value. Rice overcooked which wasn’t surprising but was disappointing. We all felt so sick afterwards too.More
Quite depressed at how hard it is to get good Thai take out in Dublin. Dishes lacked the depth and balance Thai food should have. Does anyone taste or season anything before it is boxed and sent?
tried the drukaards noodles. the beef was unbelievably tough and tasteless. Dish contained a lot of chillies, extremely hot. Noodles themselvws were nice and some if the other chopped veg were nice. Friend had curry whic was ok. huge amount of rice. Side of chips...were nice. Seemed a bit overpriced. Need to up their game. Toilets fairly clean.More
The portion size is good but unfortunately the taste wasn't that great. The Singapore fried rice was average but a bit too much turmeric powder, overpowering. The cashew chicken was nice. Not the best takeaway Thai I've had but service was good and not long...of a wait.More
I was staying in a nearby hotel and fancied some food but did not know the city so ordered online. The process was easy and they asked for your phone number to confirm order and for updates on your delivery. I have a non-Irish phone...number but I received the text correctly. All fine up to here. I ordered the food at 19.20 and they said in their message the food would be delivered in 35 minutes. Well, nearly 1 hour later, I called to check on my order and they said it was on its way, the driver had some issues with the traffic. I then later realised that my hotel was no more that 10 minutes away by car/motorbike from the place. Well, the time passed, I was starving and rang the place again after 1 hour and 20 minutes and they confirmed the driver was just arriving. And yes, 1 minute later I got my food. I couldn't eat it all as it was too late for dinner already, 20.45, so didn't go to bed with a full stomach. Hours later, when I was in bed I realised that they did not delivery a bottle of water I ordered.... I must say the food is good but the service is horrendous. The delivery guy did not even apologised. Of course will not order again online when I am in Dublin and not sure if I will get food from here again...More
Excited to see a Thai Restaurant that was gluten free. I have great experience with this style. I ordered drunken noodles and spring rolls after being told they were gluten free. The drunken noodles had no sauce, and had a small amount of vermicelli noodles....Not sure how this was named drunken free noodles, as it has not resembled any order of drunken noodles I have had. The spring rolls were 90% roll, and tasteless filling. Overall, terrible disappointment. Would not return, and would not be surprised if this place goes belly up.More
Thai food being my favorite was visiting to Dublin staying a nearby hotel. I really didn’t want to because I’m on a strict diet but couldn’t say no. They had eaten here one nights. It seems primarily to be a takeaway but there are tables...inside and some outside. We ordered, there was good variety on the menu. It was hot but delicious, all of us were delighted with everything that we got.More
Hi Inzysky, Thank you for writing a nice review! We are glad you enjoyed the food with us! Thank you, The team at Kanum
Used to be a regular client there. Not anymore. They starter to replace all vegetables with onion. So if you like onion with chicken and some vegetables, yhis is your place. But I'm not returning
Take away food quality was substandard, from the sauce to the chicken and to beef that was infused with an odd after taste. We felt our starters were industrial, and certainly not made by a chef. Wondering where Kanu sourced their chicken, our guess was...Brazil or Thailand; the latter of which may be apt A pedestrian experience and would not recommend.More
If you haven’t visited Kanum and you like Thai food then you’re missing one of the best Thai take aways in Dublin. With authentic Thai chefs (hard to always find), this little gem has held its own for many years. One of the few places...that gets my 5 star rating. I’ve been known to drive 40 miles to get a Thai curry here. Worth every penny of it. Not the cheapest place to eat, but don’t let that put you off. Have been coming here for years, repeat customer, and hope to be for many years to come. Kanum - you’re doing it right, keep at it 😊More
