We scheduled a massage at The Dawson Spa for the day we arrived in Dublin from the US. It was the perfect way to relax after a long plane trip. We were greeted to a calm environment and taken our room that was clean and the music helped us relax. The massage was sooo relaxing and seemed to pass too quickly. We were shown to the waiting room and offered Prosecco—-and EXCELLENT 1st day of our trip. I suggest that travelers make appointment before you leave so you can start your vacation very relaxed! Also, the staff was excellent.

We stayed four nights here and certainly would again. It is within walking distance of almost all of Dublin's attractions, as well as several bus and tour coach stops. The staff was wonderfully accommodating and friendly to a fault. If I ever stay in Dublin city again, it will be here.

Very reasonable, rooms very comfortable. I did miss out on an Irish breakfast though, but the continental style breakfast buffet was good. I will just have to visit this wonderful city again.

The Dawson has a great location in the middle of the busy city but still you don’t hear noise from your room. We had a gorgeous room looking out onto the Main Street. The staff were very nice and helpful and gave us two complimentary cocktail vouchers as our room wasn’t ready. Will definitely stay here again.

A hotel that was probably a hot spot years ago but has lost its glitter. Still, we enjoyed our stay. The room was big, very clean and well equipped. The staff is very helpful, courteous and friendly. Coffee and fruit are always available in the Reception area. There are newer hotels in the area, but I'll bet they are a lot more expensive. The only precautionary note would be that if you have trouble with stairs, choose elsewhere. They do have an elevator in the back but it only goes down to the 2nd floor from 3-11pm. Your Fitbit will go crazy trying to figure out the number of stairs that you will climb. Registration is one floor up from the entrance. With all the positives and very few negatives, it is in a perfect location. We would stay there again. Most attractions in town are within an easy walking distance. The Hop On-Hop Off buses stop very close to the hotel.

Looks good from outside. Central location. Staff friendly, but stairs everywhere. They do carry your cases up and down. Room numbering strange. Rooms need some maintenance. Continental breakfast. 2.40 in morning road works started outside hotel, why?? Realise not hotels fault. Car park hotel use is a good walk from hotel. Expensive even with discount, but that is city centres for you. Room was all frills, but missing towel rail, broken taps, cupboard handles etc took away from it all. Shower was nightmare to adjust temperature wise. Shower difficult to get in and out of, shower curtain clings to us, no rail to help get in and out. Was experience, hotel for fit healthy people.

The location is very good but the late night noise from the Bar below means it is impossible to get a good night sleep even with the ear plugs provided by the hotel!!!!

We stayed in the hotel which was wonderful and decided to come to the restaurant for a meal. My first complaint is that the service was incredibly slow e.g. 10 minute wait to order drinks, brings water to the table, another 10 minute wait to receive drinks, 30 minutes until the starter... you get the idea! I am not usually pass remarkable but our waiter seemed a little curt/short in his manner, however what happened really took the biscuit! Our main course was served and I immediately asked for salt because the service was so slow I wanted it to hand in case I needed some for my chips! The response was sneering "would it not be best to taste your food first before adding salt"... I. WAS.GOBSMACKED I looked for his laugh but he was not joking.... I was too astonished by the rudeness that I didn't explain that I was only asking for it now because the service has been so incredibly slow the whole night I wanted it to arrive before my food got cold. He then disappeared before I could retort and we were served by a different waiter the rest of the night. I personally think that waiters are there to be knowledgeable about the menus, the wine and to bring you your food... what was it to him if I deployed an entire salt cellar over my food?! The comment was not necessary and probably only said to make him feel superior. However, it only served to make me write this review.

The location is excellent, a stones throw from Grafton Street. There are a lot of long corridors but the rooms are interesting. The staff are very helpful. There is noise from the night club/bar area but ear plugs are provided. Breakfast was good not a large choice but well prepared and very tasty.

Rooms large and clean. Staff friendly. No problems with noise from bat as we had a room on a high floor at the rear of the building. Lift hard to find and not always accessible but staff happy to help with cases.

Fab hotel, very central, clean, excellent staff. Booked in with my husband and requested an early check in. The receptionist said she would call us at 11am on the mornin of our arrival to let us know if this was possible. Received the phone call bang on 11am and we were told that yes, they could facilitate our request. On arrival the staff were so helpful. Our room was gorgeous, spotlessly clean and with a bottle of complimentary Ballygowen water, which I though was a nice touch as this does not happen in to many hotels any longer. Breakfast was delicious with freshly squeezed orange juice and Devine coffee. I can't wait to revisit. Many thanks.

Nice boutique hotel, the beds are very comfortable and the place attractively designed. The dining and bar options are good, and there are many more places to try within easy walking distance. The situation with the lift is not straightforward, but can be managed.

As we stayed at the Hotel we decided to try the restaurant which was excellent. The first night it was fully booked with a private party which would have been good if we had been told at reception....Would highly recommend the restaurant definitely worth a try....Its a shame the hotel isn't...

Folks, Lovely hotel, plenty of character & great potential. Standards have seriously slipped since our first stay a few years back... The tv stand is now the mini bar stand minus the mini bar and the shower handle is handleless? Overall decor needs a big overhaul. Pity because it used to be a beautiful hotel and room sizes are generous !
