Just had a bowl of soup here. Worst soup I ever had. Felt like all the left over veg was liquidised and served. Advertised as roasted veg but was bitter and tasted of turnips. Decor awful. Condiment holders sticky. Toilets in need of upgrade. The...pastries for sale looked very good. Perhaps the other food was good but how hard is it to make a decent bowl of soup. Waiting staff not the most cheerful.More

Stayed in Sandymount between Christmas and New Year’s and ate breakfast at Browne’s every morning and lunch twice. Staff is personable, attentive, and helpful, and the food is Excellent. The coffee is robust. Hoping I have the opportunity to return.

I have been ordering from Browne's for my workplace for a few months now and it was always very well received by us all. However in today's order I ordered a vegetarian breakfast burrito for myself along with the rest of the orders, and unfortunately...a non-vegetarian breakfast burrito was delivered. I rang the restaurant to request the correct item be sent to me, as I was certain that the error was on the part of the restaurant having double-checked that I had ordered the correct item. However, the man I spoke to on the phone was very dismissive and told me that they don't deal with that and that I had to go through JustEat, despite me saying that I didn't necessarily want a refund, just the correct sandwich. I was very disappointed with the service on this occasion and would think twice about ordering from Browne's again.More

Stopped in for breakfast on the way to a meeting. Scrambled egg & Bacon / Toast. Dry, tasteless egg, poorly flavoured bacon. The wholemeal toast was good, the highlight of the visit. Topped off by a poor coffee. I will not be returning.

Having been highly recommended by our taxi driver from the airport, we enjoyed our first breakfast here. The food was excellent even though it was chilly with windows open! Later stopped for dessert to serve after a dinner party and the pastries were amazing!!! Highly...recommend.More

Was in the area and stopped in for lunch today. Honestly one of the most bizarre experiences with the waiting staff that’s ever happened to me. Really rude on several occasions without any reason to be rude towards us right from the off. When asked...about table availability waiter said to us “you can see yourself there’s one over there”. When one of us didn’t eat the sandwich ( it was horrible) we had ordered he asked “what’s wrong with you, are you not hungry “. Then we waited 10 mins after we had finished and I asked politely for the bill please and I was greeted with “did you not already ask me that” , I hadn’t either which was even more bizarre. Then to finish off the occasion when we got up to leave the waiter weirdly started sarcastically shouting “ Bye have a great day” at us. It was so weird the whole thing and wouldn’t dream of returning back here if I was paid. I understand hospitality staff have had a tough time of the past year but as a paying customer who was actually polite today there was no reason I should have been treated like this.More

I don't usually write bad reviews but my first visit to this cafe was a horrible experience. The paper menu was dirty, food-stained and wrinkled - obviously well-used by other patrons which rang an alarm bell about covid protocol here. I ordered a medium cappucino...and an omelette with toast. When I cut into the omelette it was raw inside - the egg just flowed out onto the plate. I waited a long while for my waiter to reappear and then went inside to find a member of staff and explain the problem. A waitress removed the plate, apologised and told me the chef would cook a fresh one. She then came back with toast and jam to apologise for the delay. (I didn't order the toast and jam, I understood it was a goodwill gesture!) My waiter then came out and rather rudely asked me what was wrong with the omelette. I said it was raw and he didn't reply, just walked off. The omelette came back to me (clearly not a fresh one as I could see where I had cut it the first time), it was now brown on top, presumably from being put under a grill, but when I cut it again it was still undercooked inside. I called the waitress, showed here and she said it could just be the melted cheese! I make a lot of omelette's and I know the difference between raw egg and melted cheese. She didn't offer to get me anything else even though I didn't eat the omelette, just said she would charge me half price! I said I would pay for the coffee and toast, which I had eaten and she was happy with this. In hindsight of course I shouldn't have had to pay for the toast. I was surprised when I saw the bill - 7.45 for a regular cappucino and one slice of toast with jam which I didn't order. I foolishly paid but have just checked the online menu: a regular cappucino and toast with jam costs 6.80. So I was overcharged and treated with contempt at Browne's. With this quality of food and customer service it's a wonder this once-popular cafe is still open.More

We grabbed a last minute (outdoor) table for two here this evening. We had 4 prawns which were specials for starters and a burger each. Food was casual but really good. What really impressed us was the service. The most enthusiastic and welcoming service we’ve...had in a long time. Despite being busy our server was excellent and enhanced the whole experience.More

I ordered the smoothie of the day which was advertised on a chalkboard outside as as kale and mango smoothie . After paying €5 euro I was handed my smoothie which I was then told was mango and passion fruit. I was very disappointed as...I ordered my smoothie purely for the kale. My sister also ordered an iced coffee that she said was watery and unenjoyable . Friendly staff ,but a disappointing experience.More
