Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had fish and chips and the days catch. Everything well prepared and good size portions. The place is very cosy and sits on top of a pub. The staff is very friendly and we had a very nice dinner experience.

A very special family occasion was turned into a rushed we are closing soon experience. The staff were keen to have us out from 10.30pm. Our bill was fairly hefty so the 12.5% inclusive tip was not light change. When we asked for 2 coffees...the waitress made a big deal and « checked to see if it was possible ». Very disappointing service which distracted from the good food. Absolutely will not be going back.More

One of the best meals I had on my trip to Dublin . Very nice, upscale atmosphere. We were seated right by a cozy fireplace which was nice for a cool evening. The pork chop was delicious! My sister had a traditional Irish shepards pie...and said it was great. And the Nutella chocolate mousse to end the meal was amazing. Great service too and very reasonably priced for a fine dining meal. Highly recommend.More

Ate here a few times during a short Dublin stay. Bustling, cozy, and with a great vibe, it is located above O'Brien's Bar. Fish of the day (sea bass) prepared perfectly both times, and the superfood salad was delicious. Nutella chocolate mousse and lemon posset...were a perfect finish.More

Our second day in Dublin was my friend's birthday, so I had made reservations for dinner at the Sussex. What an absolutely adorable spot near the canal; we enjoyed our walk to the restaurant at dusk very much. Both the service and the food were...amazing. The beetroot-cured salmon gravlax met my expectations, and the rib eye steak was excellent, including the delicious potatoes served on the side. My friend enjoyed her fish of the day. The servers managed to surprise us with desserts, and would not divulge how they knew which ones we wanted! All in all, a cozy space with delicious food and attentive service, everything you could want for a dinner out.More

We have found this place on tripadvisor and found it would be good due to the reviews and pictures. We had a great service, great food and also a private concert with one famous Irish singer who went there. Little we knew that this man...was big there, so it made the evening more special.More

Excellent service and meals. The fish specials were delicious, perfectly cooked and generous portion size. The two Brazilian servers made us feel most welcome in this beautiful restaurant. Have a drink downstairs in O'Brians pub.
