The food was nice enough, the tables are tiny and you’re almost sitting on top of the person next to you. My breadboard that was attached to the table actually fell onto the floor. I was given another one though which was nice.
Ate there last night food was horrible and extremely over priced . Steak had a awful taste off it I’ve had nicer steak from aldi. Both me and my partner vomited when we got home! Would never ever go back.
Popped in on spec and had no problem getting a table. Staff were fantastic. The food was very good, but very small portions. Side dishes were small and I was still hungry after 3 courses ( I don’t usually eat desert, but had to to...fill up) my biggest problem were the prices! For what we got, I felt it was very over priced!More
Was here for a leisurely lunch with a good friend .
Firstly I was surprised to see the restaurant so quiet at a Friday lunchtime .
Menu options were not exciting and I found myself struggling to choose , and in the end choosing a...penne Pasta dish that I could easily have done at home , the starter charcuterie was better and the dessert was quite uninspiring.
As for the service , it was casual and not very engaging , furthermore when the wine was presented it was not the one I ordered but neither apology or explanation was offered.
All this might be fine in a restaurant charging lessor prices but when you pay €25 for two G+T’s as an example it should be fantastic and it was not .
Not a bad experience but could have been so much better with a bit of enthusiasm by the team.More
We got a lovely Christmas present of a voucher for the Rustic Stone (purchased directly from them). My girlfriend and I made a reservation for this weekend just gone. We were really excited to try this place for the first time as we had heard...great things...but unfortunately in the end calling it an anticlimax just doesn't go far enough.
We got 2 starters, 2 mains (both the "Rolls Royce" of Sirloin on the stone @36Euro each) with 3 sides to share and a dessert also. Pretty much everything was massively sub par apart from the minestrone with chorizo soup I had as a starter...that was lovely to be fair, and a really good portion. The service was also fine, no complaints there.
The biggest issue for us however were the cuts of meat. I don't know why they offer Sirloin as the best single portion, why not striploin or fillets too? The sirloin cuts we got were awful. One was full of gristle and the other, pretty much half of it was fat. Fat can be nice on a properly cooked steak done on real heat but when you have a mildly warm stone, that is cooling, trying to cook fat...no chance. you are just slow cooking it into inedible mush. I've attached a picture of what was left of one and bear in mind my girlfriend made a good stab of eating quite a lot more of exactly what you see in that picture. I would have left twice that amount.
One other comment. Please clean your toilets more regularly! You have shared toilets and from what I encountered I feel sorry for the women who have to use the facilities. The one saving grace is that we didn't go to the toilets before we sat down to eat. Granted it's some patrons who need to be potty trained but still, they are not the ones who are running the place.
The idea of this place is great but please serve a wider range of cuts and look after the finer details.More
I went here recently with some friends. The menu offered little choice unless you wanted something on the " hot stone". We found the food tasteless. I think the cheapest bottle of house wine was€38. The Celtic tiger is alive and well in Dublin
I dined here at Rustic Stone last week with my partner and what a fab experience we had, I just had to write a review! For starters we had the prawn lollipops and the chicken wings both options we would highly recommend! We both went...for the ribeye with prawns for our mains and they were just cooked to perfection. Were not typically dessert people but as our starters and mains were so good we didn't want to miss out! My partner got the chocolate soup and I got a lemon sorbet/ sort of brioche and again they were both fantastic with lovely presentation. From the moment we sat down the staff and service was on point, food was nice and prompt with just enough time in between each course to relax. Big thankyou to the manager Mick who was so nice and checked everything was ok and that we enjoyed our meal. We will be back for sure!More
