Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Service was efficient and lovely but the food portions were tiny. Don't expect to leave this place satisfied. I won't be back. Give the customer what they pay for. In short this is simply good tasting but bad value!

Excellent food and service. What a great place we found. We were looking for a good Thai meal in Dublin and found this on our way out of town. We were served by a polish woman who was and remained attentive. We had great starters...and u went for something really hot, 7 chili's. It was just right. I have no complaints or even semi complaints. Everything match the same high standard. Looking forward to eating there again.More

Excellent food, high quality. Love the spice options, they can make anything as little or as spicy as you want. We shared some appetizers and an entree. High quality Thai food. Amazing sauces. Much better than anything else on the block! Highly recommend

Having stayed in the hotel opposite we venture out for an evening meal. Chilli banana looked nice from the outside and being fans of Thai food we picked here. Service was good, quickly seated. The interior decor was also nice and plenty of empty tables...for around us. The food was tasty, the wife especially enjoyed her main. Prices like most of Dublin seem a little higher than expected but overall a nice experience. 4/5More

Had dinner for 4 here on a Thursday in November.. the food and the place its self are very nice.. the only issue that we have had a couple of times was the table server (one in particular). This young man is not getting the...grasp of the menu, or the wine list. i love the sizzing beef in this place and i have asked for an extra portion of beef a few times but it never materialises. i have offered to pay extra, but i dont think the lad has a great grasp of English. We asked for a bottle of the house white wine to be met with "what number on the menu do you want". The same applied for when we where ordering food, we would tell him we wanted the sizzing beef and egg fried rice to which he would say.. (what number is that on the menu) desert great i would recommend this place every time, just need to train the staff a bit better to understand the menu and the customers.More

My family and I have been to chilli banana a couple of times before and the food was excellent. But tonight the food was a great let down.First of all, their staff service was great but after our appetisers for our main course was a...good long wait (about 55 mins), but when we finally got our meal we realised everything that we ordered were cold! We also ordered the sizzling beef but when it got to our table it was lukewarm and was not sizzling?!? The meal portions were very little according to the price which was definitely not worth it . We hope to see some improvements in food potions , taste and presentation , in the future, (No Coming Back )More

Was looking forward to my first trip to Chilli Banana on 30/1021 as I love Thai food. Had Black Pepper Squid followed by Pad Thai with prawns. My starter described as “ crispy squid in light flour and black pepper”was anything but that. The batter...was heavy, hard and tasteless. Cannot comment on the squid as it was overwhelmed by the batter. What followed was even worse - a gloopy mess! Picked out 3 prawns which, in fairness, were not bad and then had to abandon the dish. Noted, with interest, that our waiter collected my practically full dish without comment. Fully accept that I did not complain on the night but I was taken there as a guest and did not want to make my hosts feel even worse about the experience. Not to be recommended.More

Whenever we are in Dublin this is one of our two favourite restaurants. It is one of the most dependable restaurants I know and we have visited as a couple and with family / friends and have never been disappointed. It is a very welcoming...restaurant with a warm and cozy atmosphere, the decor and general ambience adds to the sheer joy of eating here. As a vegetarian I always do well, I had Tempura Vegetables as a starter and the Vegetarian Yellow Curry as a main course with noodles. My wife had the Chicken Satay skewer as a starter and the Duck and crispy noodles aas a main course. We had Cobra beer with our meal and a sambuca as a digestive. We gave in to temptation and had a desert each - something we seldom do - I had the warm sticky toffee pudding and my wife had the chocolate brownie, both were excellent. It was a spectacular meal and one that will encourage us to find any excuse to return. The service , like the food, was first class and even as occasional diners here we felt very welcomed and that our custom was much appreciated. The staff are very accommodating and are more than happy to adjust dishes to suit individual tastes where possible. Thai restaurants don't get much better than this.More

I don't know whether they serve chips but I think it would be unusual if they didn't. Their website doesn't mention a children's menu. The quickest way to get an answer would be to ring them.
