Went for a birthday brunch today. The restaurant is second to none in terms of atmosphere and views out over the Dublin skyline! I ordered their version of the full Irish and I have to say, it was one of the best I’ve had in any cafe/restaurant in Dublin in recent years. However, it is the staff who in my opinion make or break restaurants/cafes and from the moment we entered Laylas, I felt they were courteous, friendly and professional. I’ve found that as I’ve gotten older this is something which has become increasingly important. It was my friends birthday and the waiter overheard it as we were ordering our food. After we had finished they brought out a dessert birthday plate! It’s little gestures like that which make a normal experience memorable. Very impressed and will certainly be returning.

I've been in this place so many times!!!
The restaurant is lovely, nice view and great location. The atmosphere is very nice and romantic.
I ordered the antipasto, and pizza capricciosa which was just unreal, very rich of ingredients.
All the waitress are very nice, always focus on little details even when is busy.
If you want a romantic dinner you should come here!!!

The food was amazing - all three courses
The menu is excellent and has great variation
We were served by Panagiotis who is a credit to the restaurant.
From our drink orders and food orders to his recommendations on the menu we were extremely impressed.
An added bonus is the view from the terrace is exceptional.
We will be visiting again and would highly recommend.

We were a group of 4 for dinner. Service was good, starters were generous and tasty. All four of us ordered the monkfish at €27 and then joked that it had better be good. Unfortunately it was not good, it was not hot enough, quite tough and rubbery, very disappointing especially considering the restaurant was not particularly busy. This was my second time to eat here and the first time was a similar experience. I don’t think there will be a third.......

I had this restaurant on my list for a while and eventually made a visit in December. Lovely setting with spectacular views, but at the end of the day it’s all about the food.
There was 4 of us and we had 2 X Porchetta, stuffed pork, red cabbage, rosemary potatoes....... 1 x Spaghetti, mussels, garlic, parsley and in fairness they made up a chicken wrapped in bacon and chips. The pork was very tasty but unfortunately we NEVER got any rosemary potatoes, so €26 for 3 slices of pork is expensive in my view. The Spaghetti mussels looked good and we also had a breast of chicken wrapped in bacon with a few chips, again €24 is OTT. We had a few delicious coffees and 1 bottle of sparkling water .
Staff were very friendly, but €115 for what we got wasn’t value for money at all. Disappointed.

I booked a stay at The Devlin hotel last weekend to celebrate my partner's birthday, this included breakfast and dinner at Layla's. The Devlin itself is an exceptional hotel but Layla's lets it down. To start, I got the mussels which ,majority of them were still closed & couldn't be opened. When I brought this up with a member of staff, her reply was "well they're not dead". For mains, I ordered the veal shank. The meat itself was majority fat and couldnt even be chewed. After a couple of bites, I then found a 5cm long hair in my meal. I couldn't believe it. I informed a member of staff and they apologised & returned it to the chef. They then said it would take another 10 minutes for a new meal to be cooked, and that the meat was so fatty because it was the leg. Meat with that much fat should never be served at any restaurant. My partner also got the steak, which was a very small portion and had quite a lot of fat on it also. By the time I received my main course my partner had finished what he could of his. It was almost as if we were given a lesser service because the meal was included in our room rate. Very disappointing

I am a local who went to Layla’s at 12pm today for brunch with two of my friends. We were there an hour and had finished our brunch when we ordered more coffees. The other waiter came up to us and told us to leave that he needed the table, however there were other tables free including two 4 seaters behind us and the restaurant was half empty. We told him we ordered coffee and he said we could sit at the bar and dropped us the bill. The waiter was very abrupt and the service was poor. The other table were not filled up and more people did not arrive to the restaurant so there was no need to tell us to leave. Not impressed.

Our usual table slot for brunch is one and half hour for table and i am sure one of our staff members offer your friends and you seats on bar or our terrace with heaters at 1:30pm.

Such a disaster!
At our arrival, we were sat outside as we requested, however, the only table available was uneven, which later, caused one of our Prosseco glasses being smashed, which was ok, accidents happen.
I was very excited for the pancakes as I've been to all Press Up restaurants and I am a big fan, in particular, of the brunch at Roberta's. Unfortunately, the pancakes posted by Layla's on Instagram has absolutely nothing to do with the pancakes that we received (please see attached). To start with, the presentation was terribly disappointing, I would give 1 on top of 10! My homemade pancakes look more exciting than those 3 flat and boring pancakes. When we tried it, the disappointment was even bigger because the pancakes weren't only visually poor but also cold and tasteless. Our poached egg was also cold and very poor. I posted a picture of it on my stories on Instagram, however, later I took it down because I didn't want to embarrass myself in front of my followers.
We mentioned our disappointment to the waiter who politely apologised, but not further action was taken.
When my friend and I left the restaurant, we couldn't stop thinking of how disastrous was that first time experience having a brunch at Layla's. As I mentioned, I'm a big fan of Press Up restaurants for many years and this is the first time that I felt so disappointed going to one of your restaurants. I've been to Layla's before for a dinners and it was lovely, I just wish the same attention was given to the brunch as well, a simple brunch experience could damage the reputation of a restaurant turning a unhappy customer away. And email was sent a week ago to Layla's management and Press Up a week ago to give some heads up, however, I haven't heard from them, very disappointing customer care. We left the restaurant feeling that we wasted our time and money going to that brunch!

Dining at this restaurant was an uncomfortable and disappointing experience. We were seated in the middle of the restaurant floor despite the fact that some booths were vacant; this area has a line of tables squeezed in which means that social distancing is not possible and there is no privacy as you are too close to the people either side of you. Additionally, the atmosphere felt chaotic with staff passing by to deliver orders and patrons coming in and out. We went there for brunch as the website says that brunch is served on bank holiday Monday’s but on arrival we were told this was not happening anymore; the website should be updated to reflect this.

Fab view over Ranelagh & beyond. However, Tables were uncomfortably tight together, not safe distance.
Staff were friendly.
Food was completely overpriced €30 for a small steak with 6 albeit chunky chips is extortion. Drinks were all beyond even the inflated price expected at a well located eatery.
Menu was quite limited too.

Layla’s was recommended as one of the best restaurants to meet in Ranelagh. Unfortunately, we were rather disappointed by our experience. On a positive note, the rooftop location gave great views of the area. The biggest problem was the loud music. People had to shout to be heard, either within their groups or to the staff. We were amazed when we initially walked in, it sounded like a six nations match at the Aviva Stadium. The food was decidedly average, side vegetables quite dry, pizza crust very hard, sea bass on the small side. Three of our group shared a bottle of wine. When the server poured initially, it was like the three bears - large, medium and small servings. Maybe a bit of training wouldn’t go amiss. Given the price, I would try out other local venues before returning.

We recently had a very large family occasion at laylas. Very sadly I found the service very poor. Firstly it was a set 3 course menu, there was no option for only 1 or 2 courses.
Our server was very unhelpful. We brought a cake in celebration of the birthday boy and was told they don’t do cake celebrations and dropped it on the table still in its packaging for us to then light the candles and take it to the table. A few minutes later the table across from us then had a cake brought to their table by their server who sang a very loud happy birthday. Our server was clearly grumpy,
My steak was too salty and not how I asked for it to be cooked but felt the staff did not care so didn’t bother mentioning.
It’s a lovely venue and very local for us but just so disappointing of the attitude of their staff. Our total bill was rather large and the service charge accordingly but felt it was so undeserved.

We visited Layla's last Friday. While our food came quick and was okay, the portion sizes were small for the price of the items. To add to this, the staff were incredibly rude as if they didn't want to serve us. Complete let down as we had read some other reviews which glorified the place and staff.

Nice venue and staff but food is way over priced and bland. Starters was not nice abs then the mains was a joke of 8 tiny ravioli pieces which they charged €24 for. So €3 a bland ravioli piece. Nothing particularly nice about the ravioli to merit the cost. Companion had bland cod croquettes and way overly salted ragu. It was all really disappointing.

Staff were lovely and more than happy to help out whenever our table had any requests. They frequently checked to see if we needed anything without being invasive and even helped us to serve a cake with candles. Will come back here in the future!
