I ordered sushi from Honkaku on a weekly basis as it local and very nice so my review isn’t really based on the food. My issue is I often paid by debit card. However, I am now disappointed to learn that they now only accept...cash payments as their machine is “broken” with no plan to fix it. I won’t support any business that operates on a cash only basis as it leads me to have certain obvious concerns. I hope this business takes the decision to fix their card payment machine or I won’t be back.More

Terrible pity that they will no longer open your own wine as they always did. Not a good move as wine list is expensive. Shame.

I booked a Groupon deal for two, promising two courses and a glass of wine apiece. The original offer did not state that sushi was not included, but we were happy to go along and buy some in addition to our voucher entitlement. I booked...for 7pm and we arrived just before 7.05: I live about 10 mins walk away but had never been there before. The place was almost empty, but the waitress pointed at the clock and said she was under instructions not to seat Groupon people after 7pm. We were left standing, mortified, in the restaurant as she refused to discuss it and told us to take it up with Groupon. I cannot remember being treated more rudely or contemptuously in a restaurant, anywhere in the world, and if this is an indication of what Honkaku thinks of its customers, i suspect we made a lucky escape with the food.More

This must have been the worst sushi we ever ate. Everything was filled with mayonnaise effectively killing the flavor of the fish. Definitely would NEVER recommend this place.

I can only rate this restaurant on the quality of the food. Intend to visit soon, but have ordered from their menu on a few occasions. WOW. . . . wonderful food ! You know that feeling when you peruse a menu and your mouth...starts to water ? Well, I was hungry the first time I ordered from them, so I was happy to eat whatever was delivered. I was deliciously delighted !!!!!!! Consequently, I have ordered again and have sent my sons to collect food for me when they are passing. . . . . . . Order bunch of sushi, kids chicken noodles and couple more things for 35 eur I think. Everything was so tasty that I will order again very soon for sure. Great job!

Very good sushi & asian food in general ! Good sushi portion as well ! Green Thai Curry very hot, we enjoy Honkaku every time we go there ! They forgot the prawn crackers every time we ordered online though !

I cannot rate this place enough. Not too long open. Been there 6 times or do with and with out kids. Very friendly. Just gets tastier each time. Food out within 5 to 7 minutes. Beautifully presented and decorated fancy veg e.g. carrots and cucumber...cut into flowers. Love to go with my mam. Very very friendly and helpful staffMore

Best sushi around! This place does u believable sushi, rainbow roll in particular is to die for. Authentic staff, nice quiet atmosphere. A must try restaurant!

Beautiful sushi. The restaurant has a lovely vibe to it & the staff are very nice, plenty of variety on the menu, it’s not just sushi, they have a Thai menu also. Looking forward to returning 😀

My kids loved it here, son got a Katsu of the lunch menu only €8 and I got the Bento €8, daughter ate endless avocado nigiri. All really well priced, great food and service. Lovely inside too.

Two visits. Two superb evenings. Great food. Helpful staff. Order a good selection of starters and you’ll have a feast fit for a King. Superb.
