An out of town hidden gem in Kimmage. Excellent selection of standard sushi dishes, fresh ingredients and the best tasting sushi rice and wasabi I’ve ever eaten in Dublin. An added extra are their special sushi roles including crab meat and prawn tempura, something I’ve never come across before but was blown away by. Definitely the standard that I will judge all other sushi restaurants in Dublin by going forward. Highly recommended.

Lovely fresh and tasty sushi. Very friendly staff and lovely food. Always ready at the collection time stated and pay online by card, yes card machine not available in store but option to pay when order online.

I booked a Groupon deal for two, promising two courses and a glass of wine apiece. The original offer did not state that sushi was not included, but we were happy to go along and buy some in addition to our voucher entitlement. I booked for 7pm and we arrived just before 7.05: I live about 10 mins walk away but had never been there before. The place was almost empty, but the waitress pointed at the clock and said she was under instructions not to seat Groupon people after 7pm. We were left standing, mortified, in the restaurant as she refused to discuss it and told us to take it up with Groupon. I cannot remember being treated more rudely or contemptuously in a restaurant, anywhere in the world, and if this is an indication of what Honkaku thinks of its customers, i suspect we made a lucky escape with the food.

Delivery took 2.5 hours from order. Almost an hour late. Sushi was good. Tom yum soup was a poor flavour, green curry was like watery Chinese curry, no Thai flavours. Honey sesame chicken was gloopy. €100 wasted.

I ordered sushi from Honkaku on a weekly basis as it local and very nice so my review isn’t really based on the food. My issue is I often paid by debit card. However, I am now disappointed to learn that they now only accept cash payments as their machine is “broken” with no plan to fix it. I won’t support any business that operates on a cash only basis as it leads me to have certain obvious concerns. I hope this business takes the decision to fix their card payment machine or I won’t be back.

Just had some really tasty sushi takeaway from here - salmon avocado noro rolls and soft shell crab tempura futomaki. Really delicious and nice presentation, will certainly be returning very soon.

This must have been the worst sushi we ever ate. Everything was filled with mayonnaise effectively killing the flavor of the fish. Definitely would NEVER recommend this place.

I can only rate this restaurant on the quality of the food. Intend to visit soon, but have ordered from their menu on a few occasions. WOW. . . . wonderful food ! You know that feeling when you peruse a menu and your mouth starts to water ? Well, I was hungry the first time I ordered from them, so I was happy to eat whatever was delivered. I was deliciously delighted !!!!!!! Consequently, I have ordered again and have sent my sons to collect food for me when they are passing. . . . . . . Spices and seasoning are authentic and they deliver on taste every time. No complaints so far. . . . . . . We'll Done,

Very good sushi & asian food in general ! Good sushi portion as well ! Green Thai Curry very hot, we enjoy Honkaku every time we go there ! They forgot the prawn crackers every time we ordered online though !

I cannot rate this place enough. Not too long open. Been there 6 times or do with and with out kids. Very friendly. Just gets tastier each time. Food out within 5 to 7 minutes. Beautifully presented and decorated fancy veg e.g. carrots and cucumber cut into flowers. Love to go with my mam. Very very friendly and helpful staff

Beautiful sushi. The restaurant has a lovely vibe to it & the staff are very nice, plenty of variety on the menu, it’s not just sushi, they have a Thai menu also. Looking forward to returning 😀
