Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Food very mediocre. Asked for a desert menu and they forgot bearing in mind there were only 6-8 costumes and we counted 7 waiting staff.

Dinner is supposed to be a relaxed affair. Our first night in Dublin and within easy reach of our hotel we chose the bright lights of this restaurant. The food offered was adequate but it was the speed at which it was served and the...almost hovering to see if we had finished. Not a very relaxed atmosphere at all. We were out well within the hour. Not a revisit happening. Shame because the restaurant did have an attraction as you entered.More

Read that Flanagans is the best breakfast place in Dublin! We did the effort to go there. BIG dispointment... Service personal were poor, disinterested and slow. The greatest breakfast food available in Dublin came to our table and that did not shear us up: Close...to as poor as the lady serving us. Their badest day ever or standard procedure???More

Food was dreadful. Fish wasn’t freshly battered and tasted awful. It looked like it was out of a freezer and from Iceland. Waitress was lovely though. I’d say one to avoid.

Such an adorable restaurant right in the heart of downtown Dublin. They were awesome to accommodate our large party and seated us right away. I adore the fried Brie in Ireland and was having a hard time finding it, which led me to this restaurant...after a search. It did not disappoint! I think we ordered 3 or 4 of them and they were amazing! The lamb shank, pizza and drinks were also fantastic and it was decorated so beautifully for Christmas. Highly recommend!More

Went for breakfast and dinner, all of the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, could not have been nicer. The pizza was one of the nicest I have had and the meal overall was very reasonably priced for city centre location.

Lovely lamb shank, great portion size. Service was good and nice ambience and playlist. Sticky toffee pudding was underwhelming. Saying that, I would come back again.

Terrible service, really bad attitude, unfriendly. You could really do with some people skills. Explain your service policy upfront - not take order and then go it’s not enough - only to then come back and say it’s ok - get your approach together and...be clear !!! Simply not good enoughMore

Casual spot with very good traditional Irish food and huge portions. Our group of three ordered lamb (shank I believe), fish & chips, and beef stew. We were seated right away and the service was very good. Despite being in the midst of a touristy...area, it appeared to be frequented by many locals which is always a good sign for a restaurant.More

Attempted to go for coffee, rudely dismissed by the terrible woman at the front of house and told to go across to “cafe Nero”. Maybe take your coffee bar sign off the window. Never return, ignorant lady.

Absolutely terrible. I'd been here before Christmas and food was O.K,so decided to go with my wife. Ordered Roast beef and chicken and ham oh and I had garlic mushrooms for starters which were burnt. All the meat was like deli meats,I.e paper thin and...everything was cold. The waitress noticed we weren't happy and offered to change it for us but we declined. We paid for the starters and 2 cokes and left. Will never return.More

Perfectly situated on O Connell Street. That’s the positives of this restaurant. We were greeted by a gent who looked underwhelmed to be greeting us. I should have known better at that point to carry on in , but we did and unfortunately the service...did not get any better. We were sat at a tiny table for 2 , there were a few waitresses milling around , we had our order taken we chose the Ribs/Chicken combo and hubby had fillet steak and a side of cheesy garlic bread. Our drinks came over and tubs of condiments and at this point the table was already nearly full lol By the time the food arrived we were just moving everything around trying to fit the different sized plates, more ramekins with fries, gravy boats of pepper sauce and coleslaw . It was very uncomfortable. The Garlic Bread had to go back as it just wasn’t cooked properly. My hubby had to get up to ask could it be cooked a bit more . There was no interaction whatsoever from the servers, we were having to try and catch someone to take bits away from the table as we were finishing with them so that we could make some space. The food was ok but no love goes into that food , or its presentation and definitely nobody cares if it’s ok or not !! No check back to see if we were ok or if the food was ok I was stuck up to the eyeballs with BBQ sauce from my ribs and wings . This experience could have been so much better . We of course had to ask for the bill and the only interaction we had was to be asked if we would like to leave a tip😂 We politely declined and the waitress said that was ok 🙈 I would like to leave a tip though if any of the Flanagans team read these reviews and my tip is that you need to pull your socks up and have a serious look at your set up, I know you can probably rely on constant tourist trade I get that but where is your passion? Not just for your own pride but for your customers who have saved up for a long time to come away and who don’t want to leave your restaurant feeling disappointed and like they have just been fleeced for €80More

Theres a lot wrong with O'Connell street, not just the fact you should stay away from it after nightfall. Places like this typify whats wrong with it, having the vibe of some creepy suburb of the city rather than a proper professional city centre feel....We turn up here tired after an early start to the day for some basic dinner. The basics were not even right, absolute dirt for gravy thrown across my plate, thick(and I mean thick)and dark, not even an apology. Should have double-checked everything else my partner and I ordered. Again like in a creepy suburb we were probably singled out because we looked older than 21 and younger than 60, out of place with the clientele and staff.More

We accidentally popped in here and it was good! The steak and Guinness pie was absolutely delicious and I appreciated that they did shredded veggies and mashed turnip. I didn’t touch my mashed potatoes but hardly do anyway. My partner had the burger which was...OK but the fries were great. It got busy fast and it was a bit hard to track someone down for our bill. Good problem to have I suppose though!More
