Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The meal I had here tonight may have been one of the best meals ever. I eat out a lot and the soup starter, Red Pepper, was so good and spicy, I wish I could buy it in a supermarket. Best ever, served at the...right temperature, full of flavour, full of goodness, yum. The main course, Egg noodles stir fry with mix of vegetables and added chicken was also cooked to perfection. The cubes of chicken were not at all dry like a lot of places, but were full of juices and flavour. The egg noodles too were first class with delicious vegetables. The staff too were super friendly and helpful. Definitely 10 out of 10 for this meal. I'll be back. 😁👍More

We Have been to the pines on numerous occasions for food and drinks with my husband and children it’s a lovely bar with gorgeous food. I had booked the function room with Cahill for my 50th birthday thinking it’s the ideal place for a family...function I asked when speaking to him about a price for food and leaving a deposit for the room he said check back in with me in the new year I have you in the book and if Iv any interest in your date I will phone you to make sure you still want the room he said We can talk about food and details in the new year. When I rang to confirm and sort food today I was told quite abruptly by Cahill “the room is gone” I said but I never got a call to check my booking given that is exactly what he said I have your number your in the book il speak with you in the new year. I found him quite rude and abrupt about the situation and I’m now left with no function room for what was supposed to be a family celebration. If booking the function room be very careful with your booking I would not like anybody to be disappointed and left with nowhere for there party. Extremely bad customer service from Cahill his rude bad attitude takes away from the other staff who are always friendly and helpful.More

This was a family visit for the first time to the Pines. Pub grub but with lots of selection. Excellent wings and steak. The staff were excellent at engaging with my two bobs and made their visit a memorable one. Colouring books and chats on...more than one occasion.More

I recently went to the pines for lunch with my elderly mother and my cousin and her friends. The food there is lovely no complaints with the food or service. The only problem was my mother is in a wheelchair. She needed to use the...Toilet but unfortunately there was no wheelchair facility for her to use she cannot walk so I had to get up and just leave with her. Very embarrassing for her. We live in Meath so it wasn’t just a case of getting home quickly. Never again will I be going to the Pines.More

Ordered a chicken burger to be told the kitchen was closed even though my friends orders all came through, including another chicken burger and I was stuck with no food. And then the waitress was rude about it and acted like it wasn’t her problem....Still had to pay full price for everythingMore

Excellent food. Menu is very much pub grub but with excellent execution. We ate at around 7pm on a Wednesday and while it is a pub I had no issues having a child there. Very much a quiet local with people mainly eating. There are...a few vegetarian options and 2 dishes that aren't described as vegan but would appear to be. Fish and chips were delicious, with really fresh tasting fish in a batter that wasn't very greasy, Chips weren't frozen and were really delicious. Staff were happy to accommodate a child portion of a main meal. Cauliflower Carbonara was particularly good but the portion was massive! We will definitely return.More

I had the Sunday lunch there on 28th November, the food was luke warm and the yorkshire puddings were totally cremated, how any chef could allow them to be served beats me. Never again

Even though I live locally, it was my first time in The Pines, may I correct that, first and absolute last. I am a regular in The Morgue where the food is always first class so I guess Tom has spoilt me over the years...and I have high standards as a result. The business lunch that I had today in The Pines, roast beef was horrendous, there is no other way to describe it. The beef was full of fatty pieces, the overall meal was simply awful including presentation, am still gagging.... just avoid is all I can say.More
