Found this lovely gastropub at the edge of Sandymount/Irishtown. Jack the bartender was really friendly and helpful, and has excellent knowledge of all the beers, spirits, whiskeys in stock. He always went over and above what we needed. The food was also good and hearty,...More

I’ve been in Dublin a week and have enjoyed mostly excellent meals. This evening’s sole was by far the best, yet. I only briefly scanned the menu and hadn’t realized underneath the fish would be another layer of delights including prawns and asparagus in a...More

Was delighted to find this place a few weeks after moving to the area. We've been a few times now, and the food is always top notch. Great selection of craft beers on top too, which is a welcome change to the bog standard options....More

Popped in after a long walk to the Poolbeg lighthouse, Guinness was the cheapest we've found so far in Dublin (€5.10) staff were really friendly and chatty. Fish and chips were define! Would definitely return if back in the area.

The Merry Cobbler is first and foremost a friendly pub where you can grab a bite to eat and something to drink. Upon taking over the historic premises major refurbishment was carried out transforming it into the warm and welcoming pub that it is today, complete with an open fire and cosy snug areas. It’s a real family affair (brother/sister/dad) with almost 60 years’ experience combined in the pub business. For a nice coffee, a relaxing pint, a glass of delicious wine, or a nightcap at the end of a long day, our welcoming bar is just the place. There’s a great range of craft beers, wines from our award-winning wine list, and spirits – and you can order food from the same menu that’s on offer in our restaurant. There’s no cosier place to be on a cold day than our traditional bar with its roaring fire. You can choose a simple sandwich, or select from the main menu which covers both the restaurant and the bar. And in finer weather, there are few better places to sit by our large open wi
