If you ask a local in Dublin “what is Fusciardi’s?”they would probably say “Fish & Chip shop!”...As too would I have, until yesterday. But that’s changed forever now! It’s not often we get out anymore and even less often that we are in Capel St.. and hungry. Yet yesterday this was the case and the 3 of us were on the hunt for a nice Italian Restaurant. Hustling our way through the chaos of Pride festival we stumbled across our old haunt Fusciardi’s, a place I first visited with my mam & granny over 40 years ago. Initially I was dismayed to see that it was no longer there, it was an institution for our family and we had had many very fond memories of the food..and the staff there. “sausage egg and chips” was my order for nearly 30 years.. As luck would have it though it was now an Italian restaurant and it was exactly what we were lucking for. Was this meant to be? Or was this going to be a final Arrivederci to our beloved eatery! From the second we entered we knew it was meant to be! We were greeted with warm friendly smiles, even amidst all the festivities outside and were accommodated even though they were fully booked. The surroundings were nice and tasteful but the real story here was the staff and the foodie it should be in an authentic Italian restaurant! Our waitress was excellent! Working there under the new owners since they started in 2017 she spoke passionately about the restaurant and the other staff especially the chef but she was visibly excited about the food! She was articulate about the ingredients and about the chefs commitment to creating authentic tasting dishes. This was the authentic Italian restaurant we were looking for. We ordered the seafood platter between us for starters and a variety of pasta dishes for mains and a couple of draught bierra morretti’s to wash it all down.... It is safe to say it was the best Italian food we collectively ever had in Dublin. Unlike the bland food served dispassionately in sooooo many Italian restaurants we’ve visited this was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection AND served with love! 10/10!! The deserts... well they were just as good! Tiramisu, Beeramisu, and profiteroles! Each as good as the next and each amazing! Left us fork fighting for the last scoop of each.. We’re lucky to have left as friends. In keeping with tradition the waitress offered us some complimentary Digestives to finish while we sorted the bill and very gratefully wished is well on our way! 10/10 for service! Quite simply Fusciardi’s has reinvigorated our love of Italian food. These guys have kept the name, the great service but have taken the food experience to the next level and long may it last! Fusciardi’s will be our go to Italian restaurant in Dublin in the future.

A great spot in Capel Street for some excellent food. We were welcomed by the chef on our way in and our waitress, Caroline led us to the table. Caroline is so good at what she does, not too instrusive yet very attentive. There's a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant and music is not too loud. The food is exceptional, the wine excellent and the welcome...well, that only added to the very high standrards of hospitality. The tiramasu is to die for... It was a real find and we'll be back.

Yesterday we booked a table in Fusciardi's of Capel street, a famous italian restaurant in the area. We picked the worst day possible because of the rain, but the service and the food turned a grey day in a "Midnight in Paris" kind of atmosphere. The Chef prepared for us a mix of apetizers that made happy fish and meat lovers. A mixed fried fish platter and some "bruschette" with porchetta and the Chef's special "Cacio e pepe" sauce. The dinner continued with a wonderful salmon pasta, the most tender duck leg i've ever eat and a sea of "maloreddus" a traditional handmade pasta from Sardinia. We also had a selection of desserts, from the profiteroles to the pear with icecream to the original "Birramisú" a creative fusion between one of the most famous italian desserts and the most famous Sardinian beer. The night was made even more magical by the prime quality italian wine and the spirits at the end of the meal. I could tell you it was an amazing experience and was all great. But don't believe me... Go try it yourself! You won't be disappointed. Looking forward to come back!

So, it's half an hour or so until the restaurant closes but from the minute you are "welcomed" at the door there's zero hospitality. If you have had a busy day, fine. If you have run out of some ingredients/menu items, fine. But don't welcome me like I'm an inconvenience. Don't hang tell me "pizza is the fastest option" Don't hang around me like you want me to hurry up and get out. Your pizza might be decent but you have a lot to learn about hospitality. Really atrocious.

There are plenty of Italians in this area of Dublin but if you’re looking for authentic, fresh pasta I highly recommend Fusciardis. My carbonara was excellent and my wife’s seafood pasta was particularly good. Plenty of perfectly cooked seafood with a tasty sauce. My friend’s pizza was also really good. The Bailey’s profiteroles are a lovely desert Service was great and Capel street has lots of options if you fancy a post meal drink

I'll keep this short, If you want Authentic Italian food, this is the only place you should go (outside of Italy of course). There are some interesting dishes on the menu that you may not have heard of and they are ALL worth trying. (the classics are there too of course) The pizzas are perfect too. especially with a bottle of Ichnusa beer Even if you want traditional fish and chips....Fusciardi's gets that spot on too! including "proper chipper chips" and finally, the staff, it's like visiting family in here :) Thanks Victoria, see you soon xx

This the best Italian food. I've eaten in Ireland.. wasn't expecting much. But I love being surprised. Food so fresh and original couldn't get enough of it. The cost, service and taste. 10 out of 10.. we'll be back

Lovely little spot with great outdoor seating and warm and welcoming staff. We had a range of dishes including pasta pizza and lasagna and we all commented just how beautiful the food was. Prices very reasonable too. Would highly recommend thank you

Virtuoso restaurant, as it’s now known, was a lesson in how hospitality should be. This is a gem of a place in Capel St. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was impeccable. Filippo, our waiter, was so knowledgeable about everything from the wine to the food. Very pleasant waiter who was so polite....a basic that seems to have died in recent years. The semifreddo pistachio was amazing, as was the tiramisu. We will be back next time we are in Dublin again. Highly recommended

Nice little restaurant. We ate quite well there, correct portion and quality ingredients. However, the service was how would you put it...weird. We were not allowed to eat inside, only on the terrace even though we were the first customers at lunchtime. The waitress after we ate our main course asked us if we wanted to pay. Uuuh maybe dessert or coffee? In short, surprising!

Absolutely Brilliant!! Every course was excellent, top quality ingredients cooked to perfection. If I lived in Dublin I would be here twice a week. The wine by the carafe was €14:50 and was a Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. The service from the young waitress was incomparable. Without a shadow of a doubt 20/10.

We were in the Adventurerooms Escaping from their rooms and after we came to Fusciardi. I had 13 children and 4 adults and it was a fantastic experience. Capel Street can be a bit mad and Fusciardi was like an oasis of calm and warmth. From the moment we arrived in, we got a brilliant service. The kids had pizzas and the parents were able to relax have a gorgeous meal and fab red wine. The pizza was amazing and good value and the adults meals were just fab. The service from Victoria and all the team couldn't be better - We had birthday cake and a lovely experience. It kinda felt like we were somewhere else. Highly recommend!

Best carbonara I have ever tasted. We dropped by on spec one evening without a reservation. Though they were tight, my colleague was a regular and they accommodated us. We had a simple drink and a single dish. His pizza was nice but my carbonara was exceptional. Really exceptional. The waitress was also notable for her warmth and authenticity. Thanks. Can't wait to go back.

Beautiful restaurant, a hidden gem. Food was fantastic, chef accommodated special requests. Waitress was attentive but not over bearing, very knowledgeable on menu and wine list. It was my first visit, it won't be my last. Make sure you save room for dessert 🤣
