Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Really nice chilled vibe when we went. Good fish selection, could have a little more meat selection but overall nice mixture. Cocktails are lovely and staff are friendly.

The title says it all really - both food and service are very good. We'll certainly go again.... One thing that could be improved upon, is the selection of non - alcoholic beers and wines, the selection is very limited, and there's better alternatives, if...the restaurant doesn't want to expand the range.More

Dropped in to get the Scampi & Monkfish which is excellent. Decided to try the burger and it is without doubt the best burger I have ever had, anywhere. Couldn’t recommend it more.

Went here for lunch on the 3rd September. We had the superfood salad with prawns €14 and monkfish and prawn bites which come with fresh cut chips €12. A side of sweet potato fries. All fabulous and generous portions on both mains. Gorgeous place for...a quick lunch overlooking Dollymount wooden bridge.More

Myself and my partner were walking along the seafront in clontarf today when we decided to stop for some lunch. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, restaurants are only offering takeout options in Ireland currently. We took a look at the takeaway menu and I decided...on the seafood linguine (takeaway) for €15, quite steep given the circumstances. We approached the desk to order when a woman came out to take our order. I asked what was in the seafood linguine due to intolerances to certain seafood. She responded by saying ‘seafood and linguine’, in a tone that indicated that I was an absolute idiot. I then asked what seafood and my partner said ‘prawns? And?’ to which she replied ‘yeah like prawns and seafood’ and laughed at us. She then proceeded to stare at us in bemusement and stated that she didn’t know what seafood was in the seafood linguine. By that stage we were so horrified by her manner that we simply went next door to Kanoodle where we were served by an absolute gentleman and where you can get a half portion of any dish (which feels like a full portion) for €7.50. Do yourselves a favour and don’t subject yourself to the treatment that we did.More

This restaurant has a good atmosphere with staff who are mostly young and extend a very happy welcome. Its decoration is simplistic The food is excellent, very fresh, served hot and nicely presented, and delicious to eat The prices are good, and it is well...worth a visit.More

First of all I have to say it was great lunch. We ordered: starters: oysters, scallops mains: seafood linguine and half lobster desserts: apple cheesecake and toffiee pudding. Drinks: bottle of merlot and bbc deink and clontarf drink. My food was perfectly grilled, very soft...meat and all composition on plate was very good. Staff was nice, great pleasure to be served by Emma. Very high standard of food, nice view, friendly staff. Definitely place that you should go to.Im usually not giving the highest rate but this time its well deserved.More

What a place...we spent New Years Eve there and we had a fabulous evening. Andrea, who was in charge, treated us like VIPs, with a couple of free treats. Not only the food was amazing, but it was good value, the service was great and...the atmosphere in the restaurant was brilliant. Thank you Andrea and the whole staff, you made our evening. Keep up the good work! We'll be back very soon 😊More

A second visit to Fishhone purely because it’s a good location and good food, however last visit our table was really bad and we booked one month ago and specifically asked to be seated near the window, we were assured we would be looked after....This did not happen and when we asked to be moved, nothing else was available. Won’t be going back!More

Dined for our 4 year anniversary here back in October off the wonderful feedback read off the Michelin guide for the restaurant. The praise is well deserved. Service was so friendly, lovely and personably, not to mention efficient and prompt. As the name may suggest...the menu offers a broad and diverse range of fish-based dishes – each bringing their own uniqueness and difference to the menu. Personally, I opted for the scallops to start and the seafood lasagne as a main. The lasagne was absolutely a highlight, a wonderfully rich and decadent dish that was beautifully layered – a very elaborate way of saying, oh my lord it was absolutely delicious! Fishbone is fantastic. I’d wholeheartedly recommend it with my only criticism being that parking is an absolute nightmare here. Taxi is recommended!More

We visited here last week, food was good and service too however my wife was violently ill shortly after returning home. I phoned the next day and complained mainly because the lady beside us had to leave after her main course as she was vomiting...in the toilet shortly after and had to leave. Got a email reply 4days later saying it was not their fault when it clearly was. Seems to be a thing here judging by reviews. Not impressed.More
