Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This has been my favourite place to eat Japanese food since moving to Dublin. I grew up in Hong Kong and lived in japan last year, so I need my fix of authentic Japanese food. This restaurant is small and simple - does not really focus on the decor and ambience and is more focused on the food. I love that it’s not pretentious in that way. There is great service and food always comes quickly. I also think the price of food is fair and I always leave satisfied with my meal, although the portions are slightly small so I usually order a few things. Some of my favourites are the marinated tuna bowl, salmon sashimi and gyoza. I also get their bento boxes regularly and like that there’s always a bit of variation. Love this place!

Too many Japanese restaurants outside Japan put on a show for people whose only image of Japan is from a screen. Nothing to do with reality. Real Japanese is what this Japansese Kitchen is all about. The name gives it away. It is the kind of place people in Japan drop in to on the way home from work. It is the secret every person wants to bring you to because it is so simple and authentic. This is unpretentious, simple, full of flavour and real value.

Very delish sushi spot in central area. Best I've had in Dublin! Was recommended by a Japanese national coworker as a spot with Japanese sushi chef. I've been 3 times thus far and will keep coming back!

A blink of an eye and you can miss this little restaurant. We had a 10 minute wait for our table. Once we got in, we realized it has very limited seating. Our first Japanese dinner in Dublin. Felt that the food is mediocre. Nothing to rave about. We had better sushi dinners in the states.

A very crampy hidden shop that may not attract your attention at first glance. By hidden I mean you might even miss this shop if you're not paying attention to it's location. But make no mistake as it is the most AUTHENTIC Japanese food you can get in dublin (as far as I know) at affordable price. Why the CAPS ON for AUTHENTIC? Well that's because your foods will be prepared by kitchen staffs from the Country of the Rising Sun herself. The environment somewhat changes as soon as you enter this shop and it made you feel like you just step into a shop in Japan. Yes the shop is tiny and the portion is questionable (you can't get everything in life, you win some and you lose some). The staffs are really friendly and very polite (asian stereotype heh). The location might not be too convenient but the trip there is definitely worth it. Fear not if you don't get a seat, they pack foods real quick.

This was our favorite meal we had in Dublin. The sushi is amazing, and the service is fantastic. I highly recommend a stop here if you are in town!

We stopped by here at the beginning and end of our Ireland trip for some early dinners. The sushi rolls were fresh and the service was timely. Definitely recommend.

Great little find off the beaten track. Great value lunch specials with the food prepared fresh in front of you. Go for the daily lunch bento specials a steal at €8.50. Well worth the visit.

I'll be honest, if I had the money I would eat here for lunch everyday. Their bento boxes give a great selection of the food they can serve and I love their sushi. Most weeks, I will come here at least once for lunch with colleagues and we tend to order the bento special of the day. Always a great experience as the staff are so friendly and the food is amazing. It's the best Japanese restaurant in the area. Highly recommend to anyone

I've only ever had their miso soup and salmon bowl - absolutely gorgeous. Last time I was there, a new girl had started and we were served our meal- two salmon bowls. However, my portion was significantly smaller than my friends - half the size of hers. Very unusual. Gorgeous food though, we will be back.

Great little place beside my office - have often walked past and thought I must go in. Had lunch there today finally with friends from work. This is a tiny little restaurant with approximately 3/4 tables and seats at the counter. Felt like I was in Japan for lunch! Extremely friendly staff that say goodbye to everyone when they are leaving and thank them which I thought very nice. They also seem to take a lot of pride in their work. After a bit of a wait as the restaurant was very busy our sushi arrived. Absolutely delicious, fresh and super tasty. I will be back. Hopefully we will be able to stay longer next time as we had to rush back to work. Highly recommend!

I really like to eat japanese food, and after reading the reviews I was excited to try this. However, I am disappointed. I ordered the chicken bento, which had very salty chicken and mushy, wet rice. The salmon nigiri had rice that was too dry, probably slightly undercooked. Tamago sushi was great though! I think the main problem was that the rice was obviously bad quality because there were many broken pieces. Service wasn't very attentive despite me and my friend being the only people there.

I visited this Japanese diner (I find the term diner suits it better than a restaurant) regularly, each time I opt to sit on the bar area where I have full view of the kitchen being operated. The service is excellent and its staff are very friendly, they recognised me immediately on my second visit. The size of this diner is very small, but I like it coz it gives a cozy feeling. Almost similar to a common diner in Japan (think Midnight Diner: Tokyo Stories)
