About
Michie Sushi Ranelagh opened in 2007 in a laneway in Ranelagh, after starting off as a catering and take away business, we added a delivery service and rebuilt the take away into a small restaurant. Our passion for sushi and service have been noticed and we are holding the Makenna Award for Best Sushi in Ireland for 12 years running.

I have been absolutely gumming for sushi the last while. I follow a couple of Japanese restaurants on Insta and their photos has had me increasingly titillated. For a restaurant that is Instagram used very well as it literally gets them a hungry person in the door. So tonight, I ordered online from @michiesushi in Ranelagh. Himself got the tuna and salmon mixed sushi platter and some gyoza. I got everything you see on this plate, 2 tubs of wakame and a mochi for dessert.
I'm no expert in Japanese food but I look for certain things when I try a new restaurant: the quality of the sushi rice, the freshness of the ingredients and that clean, sweet flavour you can get from really great sushi. It's all present here with the added bonus that the nori (the seaweed wrap) used was better than any I have had in Dublin before. It was soft and added to the cone rather than just set its boundaries.
Highlights of the meal were the spicy tuna cone, the wakame, the sashimi and the mochi, which I dare say may have been made on the premises, which was a completely new experience from me.
On top of that, when you order through their website for the first time, you are offered a 20% discount.
I am completely blown away.

Tasty steamed dumplings - people at adjoining table enjoyed their yakitori; hot options therefore good. Had tiger rolls and soft shell crab rolls - both very tasty and Californian in style i.e avocado etc. Great/healthy lunch and very good value. Everything tasted very fresh - I was worried about the Tiger Roll initially as it had breaded prawn, cream cheese and avocado as main ingredients (not very Japanese), but, extremely tasty and yummy!!

Friendly and helpful service.
Second time eating here and it gets better every time! The entire meal was spectacular! our waitress did a fantastic job of making perfect recommendations for just the right amount of food. It helped us decide what we should order and we certainly were not disappointed.
They certainly made the experience even more memorable and fun. The restaurant is beautiful and ultra clean. All the staff were extremely polite and friendly.
I can't wait to go back, more than 5 stars

Do not order from here. Just tried to call the restaurant to complain, no answer so I’m posting this review. Absolutely disgusting the chicken katsu curry was burnt (black) the sushi isn’t fresh and it’s awful. I spent a lot of money on this order to be utterly disappointed. Way better Japanese restaurants out there. I’m so annoyed

This is my favourite place to eat in and take away, a treat I always look forward to. The consistency and quality is unparalleled for sushi in Dublin. The katsu curry is so delicious and the fish is outstanding, a great family run restaurant in the heart of Dublin.

Ordered a few different pieces for lunch and enjoyed everything. Katsu curry was great, cooked well and it was delicious. Veggie yakatori a little small portion wise but good, and the sushi rolls were delicious. We went for the tiger roll, Philadelphia rolls and tuna maki. Will definitely be ordering again

Had the Katsu curry, it tasted of nothing. A chore eating it. Sushi was average. The chicken dumplings also without taste. Don't bother. Ordered delivery, didn't eat in the restaurant, if I had I would have expressed my disappointment.

Visited here with my husband and the food was so good. The staff were very pleasant and attentive but not in your face. The restaurant was small but that provided a nice cozy atmosphere. Such a handy spot for anyone on the Luas and because it’s off the Main Street it doesn’t get too busy. But I’d book if you can because it’s small. Although we just walked in and were lucky to get a table straight away.

We live local to Michie Sushi and absolutely love it. It is currently our go to place for Japanese food. Super easy collection option at the moment, and the food is always tasty & fresh.

Honestly best sushi place in dublin, very good price. Its a bit out of the city centre but the trip is definitely worth it the only complain you'll have is you wished you ordered more.
I would post a picture but it was devored too quick.
