I've lived in the area for 5 years and for some reason just had never been in to Il Fornaio, despite hearing brilliant reviews about the pizzas in particular. With the covid-19 crisis ongoing, most restaurants are closed but Il Fornaio is still doing food...so we ordered a takeaway via Deliveroo, for collection. Ready within about 10 minutes, and the food was incredible! Every dish tasted fresh and authentically homemade, flavoursome and just all round delicious. I'm sorry that was my first visit, but I assure you it won't be the last! The staff we met on collection were absolutely lovely too. Can't praise it enough and can't wait to go in for a sit down meal as soon as we can!More

I went to this restaurant for lunch with some colleagues. I have to say I'm really disappointed with the service we received. There was a mix up with reservations instead of calmly explaining the situation to us the two staff members came storming up to...us. They were rude and and aggressive when questioning whether we really had a reservation. We had already ordered at this point yet we still offered to leave. That's how unwelcome they made us feel. They left, leaving us very confused and upset at the treatment we received. We sat waiting unsure whether we had to leave or not. Our food eventually came at different times so that we were not eating together. We finished and went up to pay. While paying I mentioned that a side I ordered didn't come and asked politely if this could be removed from the bill. This was met with attitude from the staff member taking my payment who rolled her eyes and did not even offer an apology. I understand and appreciate when staff are busy, however, I didn't appreciate her reaction especially after the run in we'd had before getting our food. She also lectured my colleague about how she should make a reservation in the future. We left disappointed by the service we received and questioning whether we'll go back.More

We had just returned to the Spencer Hotel after a long day sightseeing . Our daughter was tired and didn’t want to go back into town. Luckily we came across Ill Fornaio. I haves a raviolo dish years ago in Italy that I’ve craved ever...since. The raviolo here was even better. All of us raved about our food, we’ll definitely make a stop next time we’re in the area.More

Booked last minute while I was staying around the corner on an overnight trip to Dublin. I was very impressed with this Italian eatery. The staff were warm and friendly when we arrived, the food was delicious and the service was excellent. The decor was rustic...and cozy. I was part of a family reunion with 2 young children. The kids loved the pizza and I thought the homemade pasta was wholesome and tasty. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a good quality Italian meal at a reasonable price.More

Hadn't been in this Italian Restaurant for several years and decided to have a post match meal there with my nephew. It hadn't lost any of its charm and the staff were as friendly as ever. I had a sea food tagliatelle as a starter...followed by a pizza. My nephew had a meat sauce dish and also a pizza. Both dishes were very well presented and enjoyed. The Sicilian house white was very good. Before choosing we were offered a taste of that an another white which was a very professional touch. It will be a post match venue for us again!More

Simple, authentic Italian food done really well. Found this place by accident when looking for a quick bite before a gig - small , funky restaurant producing really tasty Italian food. Absolutely worth a visit.

To me the best thing about the place is that other than good food, it employs college students to work at the restaurant.
