Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were staying in their airbnb and came here for dinner on our last night in Dublin. Service was very good, atmosphere was nice too. It was cool and rainy, so we ate inside instead of outside. I had seafood chowder and a burger, my...wife had the chicken goujons. All was good. Lots of fish in the chowder. The burger was a bit dry and could have been cooked a little less to retain some juiciness. Good and convenient to many things and friendly staff.More

We ended up eating here twice. The first time, I had Haddock and Chips, and Chris had a child's portion of Chips with Curried Chicken. The second time, Chris had the Haddock, and I had a burger. On both nights the service was good, and...the food really tasty - no oily batter, and chicken and burger moist and tasty. Both nights the chips were perfectly cooked.More

We both had the Prawn cocktail and would rate this part of meal 5/5, but unfortunately when ordering off board was told all unavailable for main (didn't wipe off and left up for others to order and be told the same) so ordered of sheet...menu, cod fish grilled and bland in taste plus chips very average, not very hot, did eat all as paying for meal anyway but wouldn't recommend. Customer service was good so no complaints there just not the best fish and chips as stated at all on sign frontage.More

We ate here twice and the service was prompt and cheerful and the food was tasty and done the way we wanted. One night I had the spicy wings and the second time I had the fish and chips. Both meals were more than satisfying....The staff was continuously doing something, serving, cleaning tables or otherwise keeping busy. We enjoyed our visits to the Kingfisher and recommend giving it a try.More

We went for dinner on a Sunday night, when the restaurant was exceptionally open (presumably because of a major final at Croke Park in the p.m.). There are a few specials every day, but they seem to be largely the same week in week out......My haddock was simply too dry (overcooked?) and served with two lemon slices without any sauce. Service was a little disorganized - the orders were taken quickly, one dish arrived quickly the other after a more lengthy wait, one order of drink for our daughter was forgotten..More

Popped in for a bite of lunch and had a wonderful experience. The seafood open sandwich had fresh and delightful. Hubby had fish and chips and said it was the best he has had so far in Ireland. Definitely going back before we leave.

We went for dinner at about 5:30, things were not too busy and we were seated quickly, but while the food was decent and reasonable value the staff seemed utterly confused about potential allergens. I asked about an allergy, was told there was no concern,...ordered then had the server come back and tell me the chef wasn't sure and suggested I order again. When desert came around and I asked again the server seemed to be guessing off the top of his head and when I asked them to ask the kitchen the response was, more or less, "dunno". Really gives the impression they either don't care for the health of their customers or else have no idea what they are putting in their food.More

Came here with family for an early dinner. Staff was rude and unhelpful, half the food was inedible and made a member of my party very sick. Manager was rude and condescending in response to an email to highlight the issues. Never received even an...apology! Was accused of trying to attack the business for no reason, meanwhile we have an ER bill for food poisoning to handle now. Avoid this place at all costs!More

Came here on a recommendation, but sadly was beyond disappointed. The staff was rude, laughed at a member of the party over a food complaint, rolled their eyes at a request for water, and then ignored the table. One person's dish was inedible, and when...they asked staff to change the order they were told no. Food ended up giving this person food poisoning. Upon emailing the manager about the experience, the response was nothing short of rude and condescending. Instead of apologizing and offering to look into it to avoid this in the future, I was called a liar and accused of attacking them for no reason. Avoid this place at all costs, unless you like abysmal customer service and even worse food.More

Food was very bland, 4oz burger was horrible. Grilled salmon special of the day was not grilled and not seasoned. Came because of reviews but very disappointed

The staff were all very friendly. The restaurant was very clean. We had the hake special and fresh chips, both were excellent. For dessert we had the bread and butter pudding which was one of the best l have ever had and the apple crumble...which was also very good. Looking forward to trying out other products on the menu.More

For our first meal in Dublin, we had lunch at Kingfisher. This is a small, cozy restaurant which looks a little upscale, but actually has reasonable prices. I had the soup of the day (vegetable). Unlike my typical idea of vegetable soup (courtesy of Campbells),...the vegetable soup served here is more of a creamy bisque and was actually very tasty. The soup was served with fresh brown bread and went very well with the soup. My wife had the BLT. She liked her sandwich, but noticed the bacon was thicker than typical American style. With hot tea, our lunch only ran 16.5 euros.More

Went two nights in a row - would have gone back one more time but it was shut for May bank holiday. First night - two of us based on the fact that taxi driver recommended it AND so did Jury's Inn hotel reception staff...AND it was just across the road and we'd had a long day travelling. Very enjoyable - good food, OK beer, friendly staff, reasonable prices. Second night - went with friends as it was still handy for where we were staying. Again, good food, good beer, friendly staff. Tend to run out of things on menu and ran out of Murphy's (inferior stout to Guinness) on our first visit. Seafood chowder excellent.More

Excellent n simple fish n chips with delicious seafood chowder that we enjoyed very much. Good and prompt service with friendly servers. We started with seafood chowder..the best I have ever had. Plenty of seafood n fish pieces with some bits of carrots. The batter...for the fish was light n non oily. I had the haddock n my husband the cod...both were happy! The chips were fresh too! I couldn't order dessert as I was full! Highly recommended!More

The best fish and chips (haddock) I've had in years! Service was good. The restaurant is a little plain inside but if you're there for the food you'll be happy!
