We had been to Harvey’s Point for a Sunday carvery a few months ago and it was a great experience so we picked here again to celebrate my mum’s 40th birthday. This time it was completely different. On arrival we waited 10 minutes for the...teenage waiter to come and take a drinks order and when he did arrive to the table, he obviously didn’t want to be there as his attitude was appalling and he was very unfriendly. He also asked if we wanted soup, which we did. We then waited another 25 minutes before the drinks and soup arrived. Two of these drinks were supposed to be non alcoholic but these needed to be sent back as full alcoholic drinks were served to the table. Once the soup arrived we never saw the waiter again, even to ask if our meals were ok. There were no issues with the starters, main courses and dessert as this was self-service but the issues started again when we went to pay. When we arrived we said our booking was for 4 adults and 2 kids but we were charged for 6 adults and had to persuade the till operator that I was telling the truth. The final bad experience came when I double-checked my receipt when I got home to find I was charged for the drinks the waiter messed up. I think this was the last time I’ll visit Harvey’s Point for both food and for staying as my opinion of the hotel has completely changed.More

My wife and I dined in this restaurant on three nights and the food was delicious. We had scallops, arancini and smoked duck which were excellent starters. We had lamb and beef which were also first class. We also had beautiful desserts. The staff here...both cooking the food and serving it are a credit to Harvey's Point Hotel.More

Food was good. A bit too quick in serving the next course. I personally like to wait a bit before my next serving. But once raised to a member of staff, it was not a problem.

We completely enjoyed the service and the meal at The Restaurant at Harvey's Point. Incredible view of the lake with first-class service from beginning to end. We also enjoyed breakfast each day that we were there - outstanding as well.

Attractive, airy restaurant with fabulous lake views & we got a lovely window table. Restaurant is too large to be intimate - not somewhere for a romantic diner à deux. €65 menu offers several choices for each course and no irritating supplements. Gravadlax was wonderful...& pork-filled ravioli was delicious as well. All dishes are interesting & well presented. "Rotiserie" beef was perfectly rare & hake in a bouillabaise sauce was a super-tasty flash of the Med. We both finished with Irish cheese selections which were terrific, perfectly ripe & at room temperature. Service was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient (particularly Rachel who was delightful). We were in & out within 90 minutes - perhaps slow it down a bit?More

Food was fantastic but the maitre’d ruined the dinner for us. First off, I will say that we did not have a reservation. However, if the restaurant could not handle another table, they could/should have turned us away. They didn’t. After we were seated, the...maitre’d came to our table and asked if we were ready to order. He never asked if we wanted anything to drink and didn’t bother to tell us the specials. Worse, he never had any server “assigned” to our table. We ordered and were left to flounder. We waited over 35 minutes for our appetizer. I finally flagged down a server and thankfully she was able to get our order started. The main came in an ok amount of time. But throughout the meal, no server ever checked on us. We watched all the other tables get great service, but truly a bad experience for us.More

Have no idea - send a E-Mail to the hotel and ask them. As it is a luxury hotel my guess is that if the hotel is open then you will be able to reserve for lunch on New Year’s Day. Good luck.

Meals are by # of courses. We enjoyed our meal and I don’t recall it being out of line with other fine dining restaurants. See their website. Cannot post it here.
