Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were out shopping in Donegal Town and were looking for a local hangout to have a "light" lunch. We found the hangout; however, the lunch was not light. But, I must admit that the menu did have gluten free items. I do not know...if what we ordered goes with wine but we went the whole route and ordered a nice Sharaz to go with our lunch. My wife had Buttermilk Chicken Tortillas that were served with honey Sriracha mayo, salsa, sour cream and a ranch side salad with refreshing lime. I went for the French coated Brioche with "Tayto" crisp covered pate', bacon, cheese, fried onions, BBQ sauce, lettuce and tomato and served with a side of French fries (Chips) and salad. I think that we both were headed for a coronary, but the meal sure was delicious. I definitely recommend this "hole in the wall." Guy Fieri, eat your heart out.More

First visit and won’t be our last. Quirky decor, great outdoor space, friendly staff and wonderful food. The chowder was fabulous, creamy, full of flavour and piping hot….yum We also had potato skins, BLT, club sandwich, a toastie and fries. Everyone was thrilled with their...choice. The sun was shining, the food was great and the drinks were cold. This place is really worth a visit. I love to watch what other tables have ordered and truly I will back to try some of the dishes that were being consumed. They all looked so appetising.More

Definitely recommend for a wide range Gluten-free mains and sides. Staff are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about needs for Coeliacs. They have a lovely covered, outdoor dining area with cute lights too.

Stayed in Donegal Town for a two night break and found this hidden gem on Monday night. Wow! Food was incredible and very reasonable. Staff were just lovely and we loved it that much, we went for breakfast the next morning. What a feed! Just...wanted to say a massive thanks to the staff, as they, along with the amazing food, are the reason why Marina’s will be the first place we will visit, the next time we stay in Donegal Town!More

Lovely staff, asked for bottle of rose wine they very helpfully searched for one. Lady apologised it wasn't chilled but supplied ice my husband and I thought how lovely....they even checked on us...roll on to pay time no price list but a magical 25 euro...was asked for what was a desert wine....so disappointed really feel taken advantage of and such a shame cause the food looked lovely and the staff had seemed so friendly. I hope this is a one off experience but we won't be back to be able to tell you otherwise 😕More

Marina's is a terrific place to eat and meet, safely. Very clean, lovely, ambient surroundings for outdoor dining (and indoors soon). Fab food, very generous portions, great prices and excellent friendly, professional service. A family run restaurant. Highly recommended.

Having known a gentleman who used to live there we were delighted to find that it was now a lovely restaurant serving amazing food and that it was my old friend's granddaughter who owned it, that said without seeming to be patronising the food was...great, we visited a couple of times in our week in town and the seafood chowder is a meal on its own, it is amazing, so creamy and tasty, they also do a dish called prawn and Monk gratin, Monkfish and king prawns smothered in cheddar cheese another must try, and very competitively priced, we also loved all the old relics including the lovely cart in the courtyardMore

Returned to Marina's as I have had several very enjoyable meals here. Brought my wife and mother-in-law, for a bite of lunch. They had the chicken wrapped in bacon and loved it very much. I ordered the 8 Oz sirloin steak, but what a dissapointment...I have never had such a thin steak, (more like a thin minuet steak) but extremely tough and not very tasty. When the waitress came to our table to ask if the food was OK, my mouth was busy chewing the meat so I could not answer but my companions said everything was great, which left me unable to let the staff know how poor the steak was. I shall not be ordering steak here again, but maybe this was just a once off. Nevertheless I will return but to order almost anything else from the menu.More

While in Donegal town I re-visited this charming bistro, and delighted to say the same high standards as before, Marina, still oversees all that is going on ensuring all are catered for, the menu is still excellent.

Very good service and tasty food. I had curry chicken with rice and chips. It was very good and had lemon meringue pie for dessert. Recommended by locals.
