You can tell the people that run the Wild Strands Caife are foodies. The food was so fresh, so tasty and well presented. I had a chicken and slaw bapa (I hadn't heard of the bread before), which is a sourdough type pitta/flatbread. The fresh...roast chicken was beautifully cooked and the slaw was delicious with edible flowers. It was the nicest lunch I have had in a long, long time. This caife was really well run and it was great to be able to sit outside and socially distance. I also, had an oat milk iced coffee, which made my day as I didn't think I would get one of my favourite drinks near Ireland's most northerly point! The carrot cake was a little different to the standard cafe carrot cake but it was yum. The staff were also lovely and really friendly. Memories of our lunch at Wild Strands Caife will keep me going for the winter months ahead until we visit again <3More

Have been here once & wanted a REAL coffee & bite to eat. Love that everything has a seaweed influence & wished to share with friend,s. Both opted for sourdogh, one topped with local beef etc,the other with goat,s cheese etc. Both delicious. I had a...special Coeliac friendly pancake with goats cheese etc. All served with side of fresh prepared, side salad. A real treat. Coffee,s declared superb. All served with great friendly staff. Lovely setting in a rustic venue. WILL RETURN.More

I have recently returned from a long solo cycle from Cork to Malin Head and back. I stopped at this establishment by chance and had a spectacularly good meal at a very reasonable price. I am not a foody by any means, but the quality...of the food and the standard of presentation was quite exceptional. Really, I cannot say enough about what a positive experience it was.More

We stopped in this lovely cafe for a cup of coffee after a hike in Malin Head. We were greeted by the owner, William, who couldn’t have been more welcoming. As we entered the cafe, the heavenly aroma of freshly baked scones lofted through the...air. Who could resist? One bite and it was obvious these were not just your run of the mill scone...I have never tasted better anywhere...fresh, organic and filled with goodness. The rich coffee warmed our bodies but the view, the scones and our chat with William warmed our souls💖More

I had the pleasure of joining a group of travelers/locals during the Donegal Connect event in the Malin Head area. We stopped at this wonderful little restaurant on our journey and what a treat it was. The cuisine was both creative and flavorful and the...setting was spectacular. We had a beautiful view of the bay and, paired with the warmth of an open pizza oven, it was both cozy and elegant. The owner/chef is warm and inviting and very knowledgeable about local cuisine and culture and enjoys passing on his knowledge to his guests. He is passionate about reviving old recipes that include ancient grains, local produce, and various seaweeds. I can't recommend it enough!More

On a beautiful October afternoon the Donegal Connect group of tourists stopped off here for lunch on our way to Malin Head. As we entered the little restauran the mellow sun was filtering through the windows unto the long table with little vases of local...wild flowers. The welcome was warm and authentic as was the food-full of local ingredients and so flavoursome. This is Inishowen as its natural best. Make sure you visit. You will not be disappointedMore

Fortuitous stop caused by rain. Blown away by the food which is a great concept I believe...specialize with one main offering and many variations, using mainly local, organic food. I had the beef with smoked carrot while my wife had the beetroot, hummus and goats...cheese flatbread. Lightly pickled courgette, beet root stalks and salad leaves were beautiful and tasty accompaniments. Excellent coffee too and minty water made for an excellent lunch. Places like this should be lauded for their food bravery and deserve to survive and thrive. I will definitely visit again when back on Malin Head.More
