A very nice and authentic pub. We just wanted to do a quick stop but took two beers each at the end. Great beers, nice interior and local people.

If you're looking for a great pub experience in Cork, this is it. First of all, they have many craft beers from local breweries, not just the usual fairs like Guinness or Smithwicks. The bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable. If you're lucky, you may even...run into a surprised performance. Just an absolutely fabulous place to spend your evening!More

Before 'once upon a time' was replaced by 'back in the day', real Irish Pubs or 'Locals' were places of sanctuary, navels of wit, civility, eloquence and craic. The Friary maintains that Tradition. Don't miss this little gem when you're in Cork. Thanks Mike Darcy.

Popped in here for a charity dog event and it was so welcome with a really nice bubbly and friendly atmosphere. It was almost like going back in time with no TV in the bar, just great open chat. Not only that but no-one seemed...to be staring at the screens of their mobiles and why should one when the atmosphere is this good. A small walk from the very centre of Cork City, lining the north channel of the Lee and at the foot of Shandon Street. If you like craft beers this place has to be on your list. It has an upstairs (a small band were playing) and the toilets are downstairs - the stairs are steep and spiral so not the best for the physically challenged. It is also quite small on the ground level. I will definitely be going back and cannot believe it took me this long to cross its threshold. Shame on me.More

I can't speak to their food, but this is an excellent place for a drink with friends. It's cozy and comfortable. The staff is very friendly. Upstairs area also hosts community events like poetry readings.

This is my favourite bar in Cork, so much so that I don't want it to get any more popular and get too crowded! You won't find your favourites like Heineken or Guinness but you will find a local version and maybe discover a new...favourite. Unique atmosphere and a lovely local crowd.More

Nice atmosphere in a corner pub right next to the river Lee. They change the draft menu all the time having the focus in local craft beers and really good generous cocktails. The music never annoying there are no TV sets here so you need...to pick a board game for distraction.More
