Poor value for money. If you charge €27 for lamb and €29 for steak you expect it to be nicely seasoned, well cooked, perhaps a nice crust. Was just extremely basic unfortunately. Basic for the price. Less than a handful of chips and a few...anemic onions. Far better options available in nearby restaurants. Was my first visit to Market Lane since before kick down and was left really disappointed. In the plus side the staff were lovely.More

Traveled with my daughter to cork. She wasn’t feeling well so I ventured out on my own and stumbled on this place. I sat at the bar. Staff was very friendly, had a mussel appetizer (best mussels I have ever eaten). Had a hake main...and creme brûlée dessert. All were fantastic. Great drinks. Would highly recommendMore

Had an excellent dinner outdoors-chilly but the heater made it more comfortable. Our waiter was very knowledgable about the menu and made recommendations that were superb! I tried the bacon collar (never heard of this before?) but it was absolutely delicious. All of us enjoyed...our appetizers & meals. Definitely recommend!More

What can I say? Time and time again, we go to market lane - you always get a table ( sometimes with a wait) and the food is always amazing! The staff are so lovely and always make sure your so we'll looked after! The...only place to go for dinner in Cork city!More

The food was good overall. I had pork belly to start - it was quite dry and not as tender as I expected, but the dish was nice enough. I had the fillet steak which was cooked perfectly and I got a side of potato...gratin with it which was nice, so main course was a winner! Dessert I had bread and butter pudding, also very nice. My partner had the risotto to start, which was a bit cold (yet served in a piping hot bowl, strange) and it was a bit dry as risotto goes. But her steak was also good, as was chocolate cake! So it was good food, but not amazing. Service was good, the only thing we didn't like was how fast paced the meal was. We had starters within 10 mins of ordering, and our mains arrived within 5 mins of mains leaving table, we were finished our first 2 courses in 45 mins. Yet, they weren't trying to turn over the table, so it was odd to rush us for no reason! We could have stayed drinking cocktails until closing time! Cocktails were really nice, and probably the star of the evening. Definitely would visit again, and I'm sure the starters were caught on a slightly bad day.More

It has been a while since I had visited (pre-pandemic) but the service & standards were the same. Great variety, lovely, tasty food, reasonable prices, friendly service. Recommended.

There is a separate vegan menu. Ask your server when you arrive, it’s a really nice menu, not just an after thought like the vegan option is in some places.
