We went for a meal in the CoqBull last week, it was a really excellent experience. We were served by Amy and Debbie, who were both so nice and had excellent knowledge of the menu when we asked for suggestions and for options on substituting sides and ingredients in the burgers. We felt really welcome and had a really nice time, would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxed, tasty meal in the area.

Visited here numerous times over the last while and each time it had been just as delicious. The sharing platter to start is fab and perfect for 3 to share with a nice selection of wings and ribs. Burgers are very tasty and very filling. Great drinks selection. Milkshakes are also very tasty. No need to book, there is a bar upstairs to which you can wait. A mist visit if you like wings and burgers

We had two "smokin bull", "chorizo fries" and "coqbul house fries".
Everything was super delicious. The rider arrived in time and food was still warm because they wrapped everything with kitchen foil! Thanks.

We booked online having seen great reviews. Unfortunately our experience was not good. We ordered large wings and they arrived absolutely smothered in a ridiculous amount of sauce, most likely to disguise the dry wings underneath. I had the Coq ranch burger which was just bland unseasonal chicken. All the food was barely even warm nevermind hot.
We were sat at a booth that was near the door. A waiter was drying off cutlery and very noisy firing them into a cutlery tray that was directly behind our seat.
I would not eat here again!

Myself and two friends visited the restaurant as we had heard that Coqbull did great affordable food. The food was great however the service was substandard. We were served by a woman with glasses, she kept on rushing us to finish our food and approached us to pay the bill before we even started eating our dessert. One of my friends made it known in a polite manner that we hadn’t had the chance to look at the bill but she just stood at the foot of the table with the card machine as we calculated what we each owed. This made us feel quite uncomfortable and as if we were being kicked out. We booked the table for quarter to 8 and we were being rushed out by half 9. Wouldn’t go there again because of the poor experience with the server, the other staff seemed friendly enough but this server seemed as though she wanted to rush people out to finish early and didn’t seem to care too deeply about our dining experience.

My friend and I are usually a fan of this place and have never experienced a bad visit. However, went in today for lunch excited to taste their delicious burgers once again, but were completely dissapointed. Ordered the coq ranch burger with a multi seed bun, my bun was definitely microwaved as it was extremely chewy and quite inedible. The chips were overcooked and quite crunchy, coke was quite flat (but won't complain as it is free at lunch time) and lastly, saw the woman in the kitchen use her hands to place both burgers and chips onto the plates, extremely unhygienic! Very disappointed in a place we loved before today.
p.s. not the type of person to bring food back and complain on the spot, we just ate it anyway (except my burger bun)

Last weekend my sister my friend and myself went for a meal to the coqbul on the 19th the staff where very unprofessional and too fast with customers. I ordered pizza 🍕 when it arrived it look like it was slapped together not alone to say what was on my pizza was a huge black spider alive tangled in cheese. I spoke to the manger whom was lovely gave me a bottle of wine on the house but fully charged us for the meal I was totally dugusted at this stage I felt I couldn't eat the pizza second time around the time by taking one pizza back and giving back another pizza and still charging us for the full meal.
Not on and for this to happen on my birthday meal night out. Very very disappointed to say this about a well established restaurant in cork.

Have eaten here many times , however this time was incredibly disappointing. Ordered my usual burger through click and collect service 38 minutes prior , to have to then wait at the door for the food that I received, was quite frankly a joke . The standard of the burger most certainly did not match the price .
To pay €15 for a meal that I could make better myself is insulting and left me questioning if I revived the correct order . To be charged that price for a mediocre meal is obnoxious , especially given the current climate . The quality of both service and standard needs to seriously be reconsidered . Also to note was the lack of offering of napkins and cutlery , it’s a click and collect service ! Unprofessional service to say the least .

Food delicious but left very disappointed by the dessert I chose. I ordered the eton mess, but there was no mess except a scoop of ice cream...?? Had two raspberries. Didn't even taste any meringue. I feel I basically paid €5 for a bowl of vanilla ice cream with two raspberries. Left a bitter taste in my mouth unfortunately.

Had the Smoking Bull burger. It came out cold, not even the bun was warm. Took a few bites, was bland and boring, nothing BBQ about it.
Then I realised there was pink inside the meat. I don’t even mind rare meat but considering it had been cold I didn’t feel comfortable eating it.
Asked the waiter to take it back and he was helpful. Was offered a fresh burger but my appetite was gone so I just ate a couple more chips.
What was very irritating was when the bill came my meal was still on it, I felt very uncomfortable having to go and remind them again I wouldn’t be paying for cold food.
The amended bill took a long time to find our table again so we were left sitting at the empty table when I really wanted to leave.
I ate with three friends and we had mains and desserts so we will still payed a substantial amount of money.
No one was very impressed with the food, their’s was edible but we all felt pretty ripped off.
Not even a complaint but just an odd thing also was that a dipping sauce that came with the doughnuts really smelled of raw egg, like the smell of a raw cookie dough or cake batter.

Went here with my girlfriend and our friend today (the friend is from Cork) and honestly had one of the worst culinary experiences of my life.
I ordered the "Coq box" which we all thought had a funny name.... that is unfortunately where the fun stopped. Walking by the restaurant one would assume they served nice food, from the "voted corks best restaurant sign", still struggling to find out who voted because they were so so wrong. The Coq box was an arrangement of a butterfly fried chicken piece and chips. The chicken was the driest thing I've ever eaten and there was absolutely no flavour to it at all. The chips were okat but if they had managed to mess up chips I would've up and left.
My girlfriend ordered popcorn chicken which was also dry and tasteless and had a side of taco chips which after one bite you wouldn't even feed a dog.
Our friend got the full Irish pizza and as far as pizzas go it was a novelty but the base was very very tough and burnt and was just an unpleasant foundation for the rest of the pizza.
The service was very very slow although the servers were nice. Which may be the only redeeming factor.
I would honestly give them 0 stars if I could it was that dreadful.
I would avoid at all costs if you're ever in Cork and see this coqbull.

Really disappointing experience Saturday evening. The staff couldn't have wanted us out of the place quick enough even though we had made a booking so would have had a set amount of time regardless.
We were shown to our table and another server came over what must have been no more than 20 seconds later to take an order and was very confused to hear we were not ready to order even though we hadn't even taken our coats off never mind opened the menu.
Food was mediocre at best and Portnstar Martini was one of the worst I have tasted in a long time, did not even remotely resemble a cocktail.
Will not be dining again anytime soon...

Had a table booked here yesterday for a small group of us. The place was busy but there were still some empty tables.
We were told when we got there we could only have the table for 1 hour and 20mins even though when we booked it said 2 hours.
We were waiting for 50 minutes for the food so then only had 30 minutes to eat. Lucky we didn't order starters as we would probably have to leave before we even got mains.
When ordering the waitress was a bit clueless and had to keep running to someone else to ask every question to.
They couldn't make small changes to the three set pizzas on the menu which is strange.
Ordered the margherita and the base of it was black burnt but there was so much cheese on top that it hadn't even melted properly. It was absolutely disgusting.
The cheese on the cheesy fries were the same completely stringy and inedible.
The pulled pork burger wasnt good either. Wings were OK.
Left all the chips, half the burger and half the pizza and we weren't even asked if there was a problem when the waiters came to get the plates.
Wouldn't go there again. This was my second bad experience there. Gave it another chance and regret it. Avoid

Firstly, I just want to say that when I walked in I was immediately into the vibe of the place. Nice low lighting with candles and neon signs, good music playing and cool décor. Really enjoyed the look of the place.
The food was lovely, all really fresh and tasty. My only complaint was the half chicken, though it was a bit over priced considering its literally chicken and sauce, so carbs or sides unless you add them on, very cheeky. But the chicken itself was delicious, so I can't fault the actual food.
The service was the best part. Our waitress was absolutely brilliant, couldn't fault a thing, we never had to call her over she was always attentive and watching for anything we might need, my glass was never empty . All other wait staff and management looked after us too they were all brilliant.
Cocktails are amazing also, would highly recommend the Deathrop (spicy magherita), it was delicious. Also couldn't believe how quickly the cocktails were coming out for such a busy restaurant, considering the quality, was very impressive. Normally you're waiting 10 minutes plus anywhere for a cocktail.
Will definitely be back :) :)

Was seated very promptly when we got into CoqBull. They took our order quite fast too. Was waiting bout 15-20mins for food. The menu is very big and so lots of choices. Price is reasonable. We spent €40 feeding two adults and one child so it’s quite average for Cork. It’s a nice setting too and seating was comfortable.
