When you get visitors from far away, who do not have the opportunity to travel to Europe that often, you really try to give them the best impression of what Europe can offer. One of the things is obviously the food.
Combining great hospitality with wonderful food, Nosta is always a save bet for exactly this. Introducing friends to all the flavors is even easier thanks to the Mixed platters that they offer. But don't mistake them as "taster" where you just get a small sample where you just get one bite... no no no those mixed options are combined a decent portion in itself.
So if you can not decide for a single item, go for them and have a lot of different flavored treats in front of you. And if you come in a group, just use those mixed plates as your guidance to what to order as individual portions. (e.g. the Mezzo platter. 4 individual items that are e lovely starter for two people. In case of being there with a group, just order the four dishes separately. And you are set for a group of people.)
Each time I go here I end up with a happy smile on my face and somehow the feeling of being ported back in time to some of the food I grew up with.

A personal favourite. The chicken skewers are possibly my favourite dish I've had in any local restaurant. Staff are very friendly and I've never been in the restaurant while it is very busy so make sure to stop in and enjoy a relatively quiet dinner.

Having visited Nosta this evening as a family we had an amazing meal. The pizzas were to die for and the chicken skewers were so delicious. I would highly recommend the fish sharing plate for two.... Yum! The staff were so genuine and interested in how everything was and were very friendly and very appreciative of our custom. We had a wonderful evening.

Very poor experience overall no positives.
Me and my friend arrived at 7pm for a dinner before a show at 8pm in Cork Opera House. We ordered our food promptly aware of our tight time and waited. Unfortunately food was extremely slow to come. After 40 minutes of nothing I asked a waiter if he would mind checking on our food. He then went into the restraint and there was clearly a miscommunication as we were sitting close to the kitchen we could see a commotion. We then were informed our food would be out in 2-3 minutes. This was not the case, at 19:55 our food was finally brought out. After a few bites it was evident that our food had been rushed our pasta was very much raw. Then when approached by our waiter to ask how we found everything I gave a very honest answer and said we we’re disappointed by the slow service. The waiter responded with a very sarcastic attitude saying “this is not McDonald’s” I found this extremely rude. €40 for a meal for two is moderately price but for very poor service and having been late for our show would recommend avoiding.

I'm not looking for any excuses but we had a very busy night and we were short staffed, there was large tables orders were ahead of yours, however you should never got an response from like that from your server.

Ordered online, arrived and was handed a bag of food by waiter, who didn’t ask my name or order number. When I stated that the order was not mine ( I had ordered drinks to meet the minimum online order of €50) the waiter snapped back at me. I then mentioned the current pandemic only to be told that “nobody here has covid”!! My order had not been processed, instead of insisting on a refund, I waited, ( I declined a free coffee), arrived home with said order to find sides missing and items incorrect! Never again, awful customer service, and disgraceful ignorance of current pandemic!

Dear Eimear, first of all I'm really sorry to hear that we didn't exceed your expectations, however I would like to correct few of the issues you raised, upon your arrival we asked you to put your face coverings on and your answer was ( I don't have Covid ), face coverings are mandatory upon entering every premises since 10th of August and restaurants are no different, we do really care our customers and staffs wellbeing that's why we ask everyone to sanitise they're hand on the entrance and put on face coverings.
as you know, we're not a take away restaurant, your order was placed busy Saturday night and when you arrived your order was 90% ready for collection, we do really take our food seriously therefore it takes a while to cook good food.
the reason why they didn't asked your name was there was only 1 order for collection, (common sense)
as you said with the current pandemic, we all should be more understanding and helpful to each other rather misleading the truth.

When I phoned for a reservation, I was told we would be given 1.5 hours only. This suited us as we were going on to a concert. We ordered a starter of houmous with a Greek salad. The houmous was dry, bland and lacked seasoning and oil. The flat bread was like something you would buy in a supermarket. The Greek salad wasn't a Greed Salad other than there was feta cheese but salad leaves from a bag are not Greek. Bad start so I though they can't get grilled lamb wrong. We were kept waiting 40mins, the staff who were very nice kept asking if we had had finished the starters. We were offered the excuse that they were busy, however two tables next to us were eating their meals even though they arrived after us. The Lamb was cheap cuts not cubes of meat as is usual for Shish but flattened pieces of Lamb, well I think it was Lamb but I wasn't sure. I hope the owner isn't Turkish because his mother wouldn't be impressed at what he is trying to pass off as Turkish to Irish people. I have eaten in many Turkish and Greek restaurants and this must be one of the worst I have been in. I didn't try the Lahmacun but at 9€ it was a bit pricey. Pirzola at 28€ was quite pricey for lamb chops. Only good point, I thought the rice was tasty enough. If I had advice for this restaurant, it would be too much on the menu and none of it done well. Use quality food and cook it well if you want return costumers.

first of all i would like offer my apologies that we weren't up to your standards. we always take any criticism very seriously and do our own investigation and try to improve our food, service, quality etc.
As you know we're in middle of Atlantic Ocean therefore we cant ship any salad leaves directly from Greece, we use Spanish and Dutch fruits and vegetables, apologies they weren't good enough for you.
Our head chef Niko is famous for his lamb skewers he offended and upset BIG time because he take a great pride on his craft and work.
Oh by the way i was just onto my mother about your accusations she told me son Drive on, you cant make everyone happy and tell David to stick to Bacon & Cabbage. ( i'm just passing on the message )

Very pleasant surroundings, ambient music and charming staff. First time was nice, food adequate, enough for us to book a table for four that evening. This time the mixed grill was decidedly under par, the lamb doner simply a pile of unpleasant, unseasonal scraps. The rest was OK, particularly the chicken doner and lamb kofka. The occasion together with the unrelenting charm of the staff stalled any disastisfaction with the lamb.
One more try and that was today. This time the chicken doner was a pile of clumsily seasoned scraps with chips out of a bag. Lamb kofta was OK, but far below the quality that the prices warrant. The chocolate mouse was OK, the baklava uneatable. We left feeling angry and ripped off. Both feeling distinctly unwell afterwards, not least from the feeling that staff charm and friendliness is a deliberate sugar coating of high prices and poor quality.

My favourite resterant in cork city. The food is the nicest you will find. Hugh menu-something to suit everybody. Highly recommended the platter for 2. It is gigantic. And also the steaks are a must when you are visiting. They are the most tender steaks and the flavour is unbelievable, I still can't figure out how they make them so good.
Don't leave without ordering the bread, it is about a metre in length and still warm when it arrives at the table.
Great outdoor area also surrounded by glass.
Highly recommended - 5 stars from me

We were trying to find a lovely place to eat for at least half an hour Came across NOSTA , the menu was very appealing we got a lovely table outside, Highly rate this place food was unreal so much flavour and staff were very friendly. Definitely have the rice and add tzatziki they are delicious too. Worth the price we were very happy

Having not been able to eat at the restaurant of my choice on a Monday night because it was full at 7 pm, with an average 2 hour wait I decided to look for another option.
Choosing Nostra was based on wanting to eat some meat, when I got there my restaurant 6th sense kicked in and said poor quality, tourist trap and it was.
I suppose on one meal you should not complain too much, but I got a piece of Lamb breast sold as a "Rack of Lamb", this cheap cut of meat is fine if slow cooked, or marinated or both as it is quite a tough piece of meat. I know its eaten in the middle east quite a lot, but "Rack of Lamb" it is not. I ate it with a portion of chips and it was adequate, but not what was advertised.
I looked at the TA reviews post visit and there is a lot of good reviews from people with one or two contributions and that for me always makes me suspicious.
Some of the more traditional Kofta and other dishes being served around me looked fine, so I may have just made the wrong choice.
Also, its quite tatty and not at all like the picture on their TA page, would I go back, don't think so, there many other restaurants in Cork to try.

first of im really sorry to hear that we didn't exceed your high expectations.
I get that you didnt like the food (even though you scrape the meat from bones and lick the plate not a single piece was left behind) but accusing us for fake reviews and fake pictures, tourist trap its bit way too much to swallow, i understand you had a few past hard week first of Queens passing away then Manchester United getting hammered over the weekend and on top that eating out on your own on a depressing Monday night is a bit a lot. ( i feel for you )
Your server asked you if everything was OK at the end of your meal, why didn't you give your expertise opinion instead of saying Everything was Great.
Nature of the business i know that we cant please everybody but trust me we're doing our BEST.

My partner and I love coming here for some good quality Mediterranean food. We come here for lunch and dinner every so often and the standard of food and service is always too quality. The staff is so polite and the food is so good. I absolutely recommend this place is you are visiting cork and don’t know where to eat.

My mum and I visit here practically every Friday evening. The food, drinks, service and atmosphere are consistently excellent.
The staff are friendly and accommodating - we usually just share a pizza and chips and have a glass of wine each on a Friday. No issue is made of this and the server always brings us an extra plate to make sharing easier.
One interesting point to note is that I recognise all staff at this stage and there seems to be a low turnover of staff compared to other restaurants - this is a great sign and I think all staff appear happy to be working there!
Having visited here so many times, I have tried most items on the menu and they are all delicious. Their penne arrabiata is my husband's favourite of anywhere in the city! I would also strongly recommend the pizza!
The restaurant itself is comfortable and inviting. Looking forward to my next visit already!

Visited Nosta on mothers day with my family, everything was great from service to food, atmosphere.
We had a sharing plates of Meze and Nikos platter for 4 it was so unique flavors and generous portions.
Thanks again making us so welcomed we will definitely be back and recommend you to our friends and family.

It was disappointing…. When I was booking a table for the dinner I mentioned that it’s my husband’s birthday. When we came to the restaurant we have been served very poorly and nobody congratulated my husband (so why you on your website during reserving a table asking for the occasions!?). After all of our food nobody us ask for was it and we were waiting for 30 min for the bill in the empty restaurant….

We dined here once during our visit to Cork. We were able to book theoutside seating table on line and that really was essential as this is a very popular and busy spot.
We had Bruschetta and Garlic Bread for starters and then the Spaghetti Bolognese and the Penne al Salmone. Both perfect and all washed down with a lovely bottle of white wine. An Americano and a Tiramisu finished off this wonderful meal.
Service was good and our waiter new to the country was friendly and anxious to please. All in all a lovely dining experience and when back in Cork would visit here again.
