Great cocktails and lovely atmosphere! Highly recommend a visit to the quite upstairs if you have a chance. We loved the cocktails and service was perfect. Location across from the Imperial Hotel was great but the atmosphere and drinks are worth seeking out. I loved...the chicken liver pate and the olives and cheese plate made for a great late night dinner.More

The restaurant is probably known by a different name too: Crane Lane Theater, as our bill was under that. Anyway, it was a good experience here. They did not have many Irish dishes, but mostly a tapas menu. The interior is interesting with dark lighting....It was a pretty busy place. The service was pretty prompt. It seems you could order from any server. The menu was a tapas type. We ordered a Rustic Potatoes, Spanish Croquettes, Skewers and a slider. The slider was the best dish with juicy and tender meat. Rustic potatoes were good too with a sauce that gelled well with the roasted potatoes. For desserts, we had a brownie that was delicious. They make good drinks and it was a good experience here.More

Love this bar, the staff are amazing , friendly approachable and patient. Love the menu be it brunch , lunch , evening or tapas. I frequent here often and I have never been treated in derogatory way by any staff member so I was aggrieved...on their behalf by some of the reviews posted here. Arthur Maynes deserve better.More

I did not enjoy my time here and could not recommend. Entirely down to the bar man we had serving us, he had absolutely no customer service. Ordered a coctail, it was 13 (ish) euro, a bit expensive, but okay. Took one sip of it...and went to sit at a table of a group of girls who said they were leaving, as one of them got up to leave she dropped her pint glass from a height. It hit the tables and shattered everywhere. Some of the shards hit my face and my boyfriend's face. (we did not know this woman, nor did she seem intoxicated, just seemed like a mistake) I quickly realised there was probably glass in my drink, as it was everywhere, when the batman came to clean up my boyfriend said, I think that smashed glass is after getting into the coctail, is there any chance we could have a fresh one. The barman rudly replied "not for free". To be honest, we have both worked in bars and I continue to work in a customer facing food role. It costs so little to just replace a drink, and is basic customer service. He had seen me order it 2 minutes before and a random lady smashing glass into it was entirely out of my control. It threw our whole group off. I wanted to just leave but as it was a going away party we agreed to stay as a group, but never return. (Comically the barman himself when later clearing away the undrank coctail actually ended up dropping and smashing it himself, surley the martini glass was worth more than the shot of vodka and coffee. ) I just don't get it? Like a shot of vodka and a coffee are not that precious? It was hardly like we were asking for a round of free drinks, just one replaced as it had glass in it? Why would you encourage a paying customer to drink a drink with glass in it like? It just seems the opposite of what a customer service job entails. Moral of the story, you lost a chunk of customers that night. Over a coctail. No one should encourage a paying customer to potentially drink glass. Really shows how little you value your customers.More

We sat at a just vacated table, without a reserved sign on it.While we awaited service, a person whom we assume to be the manager, ( short guy, tache/ beard) approached us in a hostile manner, telling us we had to leave( LEAVE) as this...2 seat table was reserved. What an absolute idiot,we left without spending a euro and spent €80 in the Imperial’s sketch across the road.We won’t be back ever.Whoever owns Arthur Maynes, take notice.More

In the lovely Crane Lane this is an authentic Irish pub/bar which is very dark and serves a large variety of drinks. On the more expensive side, but worth it for the atmosphere and authenticity.

Great bar in Cork. Unfortunately we went on a Monday and the band didn't start until 11:30pm. It was 9pm and we were already tired, but the bar is fantastic. Make sure you go in the back, because when we originally went in the front...bar, we were confused on what the fuss was all about. Go to the back, go to the music room. You'll undoubtedly meet some really cook people.More

I have been a longtime fan and patron of Arthur Maynes/Crane Lane whenever I am back in Ireland to visit family. However, on this occasion, an otherwise lovely evening ended in distress due to bizarrely aggressive behaviour by female security staff. To cut a long...and unpleasant story short, the actions and manner of these security personnel were no less than thuggish to two female customers (Irish, late 30s), who had been peacefully catching up over food and drinks for three hours prior. When this threatening and irrational behaviour (which included the use of recording devices) was reported to management, little notice was taken and it almost seemed the norm. While security staff in bars no doubt must face difficult situations in their line of work, this was a bizarre unprovoked aggression towards two women. A truly appalling experience and a matter that the bar owners should investigate immediately.More

Excellent place to go for a drink, whatever your tipple; great Guinness, Beamish or Murphy’s. Good bar staff, polite and helpful. Can get very busy but a good atmosphere; in contrast, nice and relaxing when quiet to watch the world go by. Went with my...son and this was our place to go.More

So conflicted about this. I’ve been here and had great experiences from the staff but other times it’s been awful. I don’t want to leave a bad review because it’s only certain doorman that bring this place down. But Last October I saw a doorman...shove patrons and when I tried to report it to management it was laughed off. In general if you are Irish/ European you don’t have a problem here but when I’m with foreign friends the doorman give them a hard time. It’s getting better though so that’s why I’m leaving a three start instead of a one.More

Whether you’re just stopping in for lunch and a coffee with friends or for some wine and tapas these guys never fail to impress. Customer service here is always exceptional, these guys honestly make such an effort and create a great environment for customers. The...food portioning, prices and taste are all spot on and the coffees great too. Would highly recommend for both locals and tourists as the entire area has a great vibe to it. I have yet to have a bad experience in this establishment and will continue to come here with friends and family in the future.More
