Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I love coming here. Just an FYI...this is not your "normal" Indian you'd get in most locations in Ireland. It's very traditional, which might throw someone who only eats the same Indian dishes. The selection is primarily split into two pre set menus which leave...you calling for the local tow truck just to get you to your next location....great feed. Very small venue but it doesn't matter....the food is great! Thanks guys!More

Had a mixed meal with two bean based dryish curries, two wet sambars, roti rice poppadom and a sambal. Complex and interesting flavours, fabulous balance of tastes and textures. Not high end presentation but high end cooking and very highly recommended. And extraordinary value for...money for the quality. Make the effort and go.More

Having spent some time in India, we can safely say this is the most authentic South Indian food we've tasted outside of India. Simply delicious!

Visited Iyers with my sister for lunch and we were delighted with the food. If you want something a bit more authentic than your standard Indian restaurant then this is it. The food is more like Indian Street food. There were no tables inside due...to covid but they had tables available outside to sit at. The staff were lovely and very helpful. I'd highly recommended this place.More

For my mom's birthday I wanted to surprise her with Idli Sambhar her favorite breakfast. I called up Iyer's to see if they serve the dish. Although the dish was not on their menu, the chef happily agreed to make a few portions on my...special request. They made sure that the contents were served to last until next morning but the chef kindly advised me on how to reheat the idlis. Highly recommend for the sumptuous food and more so for the hospitality :)More

Omg. It was just the authentic taste I was looking for in Ireland. Was craving for masala dosa for a very long time and just found it today. Along with dosa we ordered Samosa Chat and it was delicious as well. Hope to visit this...place soon.More

Having eaten here when Iyer's first opened, and since moved away from Cork, I regularly miss the place. Any visit back to the city is only complete when a trip to Iyer's has taken place. The food is always fresh and flavourful, the dosa's are...just like back in India and the menu reflective of what is available fresh at the time. The Thali is my usual go-to main course which offers the diner a quick but very memorable snapshot of India on a plate. The dosa's are crisp, generous and light with the masala dosa always up there in my top 3 dishes at Iyers accompanied by a proper homemade sambar. First place on my top 3 are the samosa's, second place is more samosas. They are outstanding and remind me of being in roadside dhaba's in India with an authenticity in every bite. Iyer's is the kind of place you can bring friends who want to taste authentic Indian Veg food. It's a home away from another home. If you haven't been, try it!More

Visited on the way out from town after an afternoon of Christmas shopping. Didn't expect to find a place as it's usually full at about 6:30 but there happened to be a space for two. We had been there once before so we had a...fair idea of the run of the place. The waiter explain the menu and we chose two samosa starters and two mains. One starter came and as it contained two samosas we both had one each. It was delicious. The main course was equally delicious. We both had the same but unfortunately I can't remember what it was called. There was gorgeous chick pea and a pea-based dish, served with two 'soups' and fluffy rice. We thought we were finished with then the second starter came along! Obviously what we thought was a starter wasn't a starter! It was another samosa dish with the most incredible side salad. Definitely the most flavoursome dish I have eaten in quite a while. The staff were pleasant and happy to talk about the menu. The restaurant itself is tiny but anyone who likes Indian food just has to make a visit. It's like no other Indian you've ever been to. We would absolutely recommend it. We had a fabulous meal for about €35.More

Having spent four months in India, and a lot in South India, I had wanted to visit Iyer's for months. A few weeks ago I took my mother to give her a taste of some of my favourite food from my time in India, and...I wasn't disappointed in the slightest. Had a beautiful dosa cooked in Ghee, the chai was absolutely superb (a favourite of my mother!) and we had lovely service from knowledgeable staff who understand the cuisine. Can't wait to come back again and get my fill of nostalgia for South India!More

First to get the negatives out of the way It's a very small place with a seating for just 11 people. Sometimes, people have to stand in the queue outside in the cold for over 30 minutes, only to be told that no more orders...will be taken as the place is running out of food. The menu is very limited - Couple of Samosa items, Dosa, Uttappam, Thali & a variety rice. Also, it closes at 5:30 PM on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and is completely closed on Sundays and Mondays. Now for the positives One of the best South Indian Thali I have tasted outside of home. I have had South Indian Thali in Mumbai, Delhi, London, Paris, Dubai, Abu Dhabi & Johannesburg. This one rates at the top. The Thali does not have too many items - Rice, Sambar, Rasam, Papad and 2 types of curries. It's neither too heavy nor too little. The Dosas are very thin but very tasty as well. Same with the Uttappams. And I can't have enough of the mango lassi. One advise Idlys would be a good addition to your menu. I was quite disappointed the first day that there was no Idly Vada with Sambar and Chutney. Final verdict: If you love South Indian food, DO NOT miss this place.More

A strong recommendation from a friend led us here. We were warned, “it’s really small just 5 tables and there are frequently queues outside. The first time we tried to visit the queue was too long. However tonight there was no queue and a table...free. Great service, good welcome and guidance on the menu. Cody it is. But the food is really excellent, showing South Indian food as hot, tasty, unique and artistically presented. For starter I had Dosa - like a rice crepe with hot sauces. M had Samosas. Both were excellent. We then shared a Masala Balti (I think), and we took a piece of GF cake home. I need a GF diet and the staff were brilliant. The food was really exquisite. And very reasonable- €29 for 2 starter, a shared main, plus GF cake.More
