Outstanding. Really excellent cooking. Highly recommended. Service from Sara was friendly, helpful, and professional. On our must eat here on our next visit list. Recommended to us by locals, and did not disappoint at all. Really very very lovely food, cooked to perfection. The flavours were...beautifully balanced. Every course was delightful, with interesting but subtle flavours. The menu varies dependent on the catch, but it is clear they can cook anything to perfection. Dessert was a panacotta, absolutely superb. Wine was excellent, a Malbec. We are looking forward to returning the next time we are in Cork.More

A fantastic seafood focused restaurant. While it has won accolades from Michelin, it has much more of a feel and friendly service as a neighborhood restaurant. The food, however, is incredible. We ordered almost everything on the menu and there were no disappointments. A few...that stand out, though, were the fish bites on the snacks menu. A monkfish small plate that tasted like pulled pork in a pastry cup (forgot the name) was incredible and unique. The schnitzel was also fantastic, it really tasted like a German pork schnitzel but was fish. I also really enjoyed the hake but there was nothing I would be worried about recommending. The cost was also incredible, for what amounted to be a self made tasting menu, the bill was less than I would expect at a typical restaurant. Highly recommended.More

Got really bad food poisoning from here, was sick for a good few days. Had to take time off of work. An absolute awful dose coming up to Christmas. I would not recommend eating here and I will not be back.

This restaurant is absolutely sensational. Everything about the restaurant is perfection. It's beautiful, the service was impeccable and the food was outstanding. I contacted the restaurant beforehand to see if it was possible to get a vegan meal and was advised this was no problem...at all. Usually when you ask for a vegan meal, it can sometimes be bland and you might only be able to have one course. I was able to have a snack, starter, dinner and dessert and there are no words for how delicious it was. It was so different and inventive - the chefs are geniuses! The balance of spices and flavours was unreal and it was the best vegan meal I've ever had. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone that wanted to have an exceptional plant based meal - 10/10!More

Recommended by a friend this of tiny entrance, unassuming place - all revealed upstairs. A beautifully decorated and furnished room, wonderfully fishy wallpaper did set the scene. The menu is your table mat, short but precise and it looked exciting. I ordered the cured grey...mullet - pieces of fish laid on a dressing with kimchi and ginger, split with wasabi: extraordinary looks and flavours. Similar spectacular dish for my companion with their cured mackerel. For main my pan fried monkfish was superb, cooked to perfection on the miso butter sauce- the Jerusalem artichokes slightly over-charred but the plate stood its ground nevertheless. My companion’s hake was slightly over-cooked but the flavour was wonderful and the tomatillo mousse a delight on a layer of curry based liquid to die for. Generous portions too. Three desserts to chose from and the chamomile pannacotta was melting in your mouth over texture of ginger crumble and the smooth comfort of caramelised apple. Lemongrass meringue pie? Where do I start with the layers of flavours and textures. All in all a friendly staff, modern Irish cooking fish dominated restaurant with flair and imagination on a plate or two. A wonderful night.More

Amazing food! Waiters very polite and knowledgeable. We had a great evening and enjoyed every bite. If you want to try this restaurant is better to book in advance as it’s small and doesn’t have lot of available slots.

Great overall experience. Nice table by the window upstairs to watch the world go by. Extremely knowledgeable waitress explained each dish in fantastic detail which was really helpful and her recommendations were right on the money. If you are a fish lover then you are...in heaven at Goldies and everything was faultless overall. Well cooked fresh fish with interesting sauces and accompaniments. For the quality of the food we felt that the restaurant was very good value and each dish was well thought out and a bit special. We will certainly be booking this restaurant again. Compliments to the staff and chef.More

I came pretty close to licking my plate clean in front of the whole restaurant. The food was THAT GOOD. I’ve eaten at dozens of Michelin star restaurants around the world. Yet Goldie, (which somehow doesn’t even have a star yet!) has made my all...time favorite restaurants list. Everything from the freshness and creativity of the ingredients, attention to detail from the chefs, the fusion of flavors, and knowledgeable staff made this an amazing visit. I highly recommend you don’t miss this place. Book a table in advance ASAP!More
