About
Gastropub situated in the heart of Cork city offering fabulous food, delicious cocktails & drinks in a unique historical building. The venue is full of old relics of times gone by. The name Dwyers is woven into the fabric of Cork, beginning in 1820 with the establishment by James Dwyer of a drapery, wholesale and haberdashery business at 26-29 Washington St. Over the next century, the enterprise grew into an empire that employed thousands, Dwyer and his descendents striding tall among the ‘merchant princes’ of the city. At the heart of that empire was the original commercial location at 26-29 Washington St, which grew over the decades into a remarkable complex of warehouses and factories, covering several acres and connected via footbridges over neighbouring streets. Here were manufactured and sold items including hosiery, shirts, shoes and boots (under the pioneering Lee Boot Company name).

We popped in for a quick drink after a late arrival on the advice of our b&b host. Really lovely, buzzy bar, great service and all the staff were super friendly and helpful. It was so good we went back for a late lunch the following day. I chose the chilli prawns with guacamole on sourdough, it came with 2 poached eggs (perfectly cooked) and a little side of cubes potatoes which was lovely. My partner chose the waffles with buttermilk chicken from the brunch menu, 4 immense chicken goujons and 3 huge waffles proved way too much for him! There were lots of very well dressed ladies making the most of the bottomless cocktails and prosecco with their brunch and listening to them getting very Merry was brilliant entertainment in itself. It felt quite sad when they all upped and left! One of the bar staff noticed us on our return visit and commented on the fact that we were back again and seated at the same table which was lovely as you felt that the staff really were paying attention and noticing everything going on. Can’t praise the attentiveness and good service enough

We had the green curry, oriental stir fry and chicken burger which were all nice and clean plates all around. Very much home cooking and good portions not too much. All fairly priced to be fair so while food wasn't out of this world, it was reasonable.
Desserts were poor and let down the overall meal. Apple pie bannoffee and brownie all 6.50 and had that shoo bought feel as though not made in house. Flattest brownie ever and bannoffee was smothered in lots of cream and chocolate sauce and caramel sauces were the same quality as the syrups you'd get in a sundae in mcdonalds so disappointing desserts definitely.
Would probably return for a main course or a drink but not a memorable meal.

• Food Phenomenal (Every single visit)
• Service is the best I’ve encountered anywhere in the Europe
• Waiting team from Alison to Loraine to Rachael to Ian to Sophie to Rowan, it’s literally every waiter you’re served by cannot do more for you
• 200 years old & now I know why
• Daryl the Manager is incredibly busy because every seat is continuously full but it seems effortless for him to coordinate & it’s never pretentious but my god do this crew know what they are doing!
• Mixologists on site throughout it seems
• Feels very safe during Covid 19 restrictions
• Seems like a 5 day advance for bookings but I can understand why. If you manage to secure a table you won’t regret it.
Just don’t spread the word or I’ll never get a table again!
Out of 100+ Trip Advisor reviews Dwyer’s are my favourite restaurant on earth. Thank you guys, you’ve set a new standard to beat!

Two of my friends and I went out to enjoy a meal together, when the waiter gave out to us when we said we wanted to order bottomless brunch. He told us that “the aim is not to get as drunk as possible”, we went to enjoy a meal together not get a lecture. The waiter continued to make remarks about how much we had drank and how much orange juice we had used. Overall, we felt uncomfortable and disrespected.

Went here for drinks and food,we saw a lot of reserved signs on tables, the guy told us one table in particular was reserved for 4 people for dinner. They found us a small table in a corner so we ordered food and drinks,we were really enjoying the live music and all was good. After a while a female staff member told us we had to vacate the table soon as a staff member had reserved it for her relatives,we still had wings left to finish and they had no other tables according to the manager,he told us we could stand by the bar if we liked .After spending all that money on food and drinks they treat customers like this??I pointed out to him that the original table we saw had 2 girls sitting with drinks and no food whatsoever. It seems that staff have priority here before paying customers. What a pity.

A recommendation by a friend to eat here. what a huge let down!
Reserved a table for 2 people, waited 45 mins to get a drinks order (to be told it will be 15 mins delayed) The waitress took our drink order twice as if we had just landed - very unprofessional.
No food order was taken and we were told we had to wait another 10 mins as the 'kitchen was closing'.
I understand it was busy with concert the weekend but please don't take a reservation and make the customer wait for a drink & food order for 45 mins. Very understaffed - not their fault.
Very very disappointed, wont be returning unfortunately.

I went to Dwyers for some dinner and to hear some music. I had a reservation for 8:30 but showed up a bit early. I saw the band setting up, but I was seated in a cubicle area across from the bar with zero view of the band. I never expressed my interest in seeing the band, so that’s probably on me, but I still thought it odd that I was seated in an otherwise deserted part of the restaurant. I had the chicken supreme, which was just okay, nothing special. The seasonal vegetables were so raw they were inedible, but the potatoes were good. The chicken was well cooked but lacked flavor. I listened to the band from where I was sitting for a bit and they were excellent. I would have stayed and grabbed another drink and moved myself to a spot where I could actually see the band, but after a lackluster meal I decided to call it a night. With so many amazing places to eat that have live music in Cork, I probably won’t be rushing back to Dwyer’s.

The service and atmosphere at Dwyer’s is great, you can’t beat it but I have to say I was very let down by the food. We booked brunch and all ordered different types of the American style pancakes. There was 6 of us dining outside and we all felt like the pancakes came out of a packet. They weren’t hot, very bready, and crumbled very easily. Either they were packaged or had been prepared hours before which I could understand if it was heaving but it was not busy that day. We had a train to catch so we didn’t mention this to the staff, which in hindsight we should have. I’ve had dinner in Dwyer’s many times and loved it but the brunch was a very big letdown. Again couldn’t fault the service!

We visited last night for dinner and drinks and must say customer service was top marks from start to finish. I had booked the wrong date and the girl who checked us in (sorry didn't get her name) kindly accommodated us with no fuss whatsoever. The food and cocktails were lovely and the staff could not of being anymore helpful, checking in to see if we needed anything, without being intrusive. The waiter who took over our table (Ronan or Rowan) was also very friendly. Look forward to returning soon.

Came here for some Brunch and just wanted some pancakes but the menu was abit limited and either too savoury for me (pancakes and chicken) or too sweet (Nutella pancakes with ice cream and a cone) so I just asked for something in between which was pancakes with some Nutella and strawberries as these were options for the larger sharing portion. What came out was 4 tiny pancakes with a drizzle of Nutella and just 2 strawberries cut in half..... For €9.50.... Abit of a cheeky price point for what it was. What made it even more annoying is when I mentioned it as we paid, the waitress just laughed and said "I don't make the prices"... Obviously she doesn't but I'm sure she can at least bring it up with whoever "makes the prices" from a customer service stand point it was a very poor response. I'd recommend Spitjacks across the road for better service, food and value for money. I'm sorry we didn't just go there in the 1st place but won't make that mistake again. Dwyers is a pretty bar but better suited maybe for drinks more than anything.

We're on holiday in Ireland and after a long drive from Co. Meath, we were in need of liquid and more nutritional refreshment. We found both here at Dwyers.
When we first arrived there were no tables, but as soon as one became free a lovely staff member came looking for us in a nearby bar. Thanks for that, it was really good of you.
The cocktail menu was more imaginative than a standard list, I had something strawberry and fizzy, my husband had something ewith various rums. Can't recall the names, but both really hit the spot.
The food menu included vegan options, I ordered beetroot arancini for starters and a burrito bowl. Both were tasty, but huge. Hubby and daughter both had Shrimp Po Boy.
Our server was super friendly, nothing was too much trouble for her and her style was so welcoming, informal, made us feel not just welcome but right at home.

Had a meal here on our last night in Cork and really went out on a high. The place was buzzing and the music and atmosphere amazing. I don’t know how many staff came and asked if we were OK. Every one of them seemed genuinely interested in making sure we had a good time. It was very well organised regarding Covid and the tables were all set up with menus waiting. The food was very nice indeed, and the service was friendly and efficient. Next time we come to Cork this will be our first stop. Thank you everyone.

From the moment we arrived the host showed us to our table, within seconds we had our drinks ordered and menu infront of us. Myself and my partner went for the chicken wings to start and they did not disappoint, for mains we got the chicken burger and steak sambo which we’re sooo tasty, the steak was cooked to perfection. Service was very quick our mains were out in no time even though the place was fully booked. As for the manager Ryan we cannot thank him enough for moving us to a better table we’re the atmosphere of the live band was more felt, it really made our night. The service on the night was faultless, great job to everyone in Dwyer’s. We will definitely be back!!!

Recently enjoyed a really memorable evening in Dwyers. From the very minute we entered the premises we loved it ! From the really attentive, professional and attentive staff to the quirky decor and cosy booths.... and overall realxed atmosphere. Staff here really seem to go above and beyond to ensure top class customer service. Our food on the night was delicious, a menu with something for everyone. (wings proved a favourite at our table), Also well priced, Got to enjoy some of the live music on offer also, fantastic local talent which created a great buzz around, cocktails seemed to be very popular, didn't get to enjoy one on this occasion but just means we MUST go back. 10/10 recommend
