Visited here the end of December for lunch and eat outdoors. Prior to Covid this was a regular and favourite haunt of ours for lunch. The menu at that time consisted of a choice of Roast of the Day, fish with potatoes and two veg...etc etc. prices were in the region of 14 euro for the mainplate. That type of lunch menu has disappeared from this establishment. What is now on offer is the ubiquitous traditional fish and chips, burger with fries, scampi, chicken burger, stir fry. You get the drift. The cost has shot up. A portion of hand cut fries cost 4 euro. The fries were cooked so often that they were hollowed out and overdone. We complained to the waiter and he said he would mention it to the chef. However when he returned with the bill he said he forgot to mention it My partner had the scampi starter at 14 euro. Pricey but tasty. My Barry’s Signature burger was bland and at 19 euro pricey. The waiter was a nice guy except for his memory. We won’t be returning.More

Very disappointed. Turned away from Barry's this evening as they now require vaccine certs to dine OUTDOORS. We have a member of our family who is not vaccinated and are loyal customers to Barry's throughout the years. We've enjoyed their outdoor area over the last...year and were only saying the other night how lovely it was that they invested money into making such a safe place to include everyone for dining on their premises. Not sure when it changed, but what an absolute disappointment.More

I visited Barrys on Wednesday night last but unfortunately our night went awry due to one of our party of 4 feeling unwell. I would just like to thank the management and staff in Barrys for all their help and kindness and a special thanks...to Paul in the Restaurant for his professionalism and for following up with me the next day to ensure it all turned out well, which thankfully it did. A group of us visited Barry’s last night for food and drinks and it did not disappoint. I had been into Barry’s a couple of times over the summer for food when they opened the outdoor area and the food was really good. We went...to Barry’s last night last minute because it was lashing rain and we didn’t fancy heading into the city and queueing for places because of the jazz. The food was delicious, the chicken wings and Thai red curry were very tasty. The signature burger was off the charts, it was huge, so much flavour. For dessert, I’d recommend the banoffie pie. There was lots of staff on and they were so friendly and attentive. They gave great food recommendations. And if we asked for anything, it was brought to the table so quickly. The service was really good. In my opinion the quality and taste of the food has really improved since pre-covid.More

I had dinner this evening with my husband and I have to say it's the best steak sandwich I've ever had. The ciabatta was soft and the steak was so tender. My husband had the burger was unbelievable, bun was toasted but still soft the...tomatoes were fresh and the pepper sauce was so creamy. The hand cut chips were really good also. The service was outstanding, would highly recommend a visit to Barry's.More

Had dinner here recently , lots of big screens with sport , usual pub menu … bit on the pricey side for what it is really. Monkfish goujons for €28 euro is slightly outrageous and they weren’t even that good. The signature burger should be...taken off the menu in my opinion or at a minimal the head chef should sit down and eat one themselves … it really does not come together well as a dish . Service was good but wouldn’t be returning in any great hurry .More

Visiting for meal and drinks with friends. Ordered cocktails. I ordered whiskey sour and it was not at all like what one should taste like and was a weird pink orange color. Honestly tasted like something out of a carton. Friends pornstar martini wasn’t bad...but no garnish- just very plan. I swapped to wine after sending back the whiskey sour. 2 glasses over the course of the meal were covered in lipstick and dirty. Not ideal with current Covid situation- you would think more attention is paid to cleaning glassware. Seafood linguine was odd…carrots, peas, green beans, peppers and then tonnes of cheese and balsamic …on a seafood pasta dish? Also covered in Fennel. All I could taste was fennel. Not what I think a seafood linguine is really. For €22 it was not worth it. Couldn’t eat the fish that had balsamic on it or the cheese. Service was okay..slow and never asked if we wanted dessert…mostly inexperienced staff who were trying their best. I will say though at the end of the night one server sat down at a table beside us (not in smoker area) with a pint and started smoking which we didn’t find v professional. Prob 5/6 out of 10.More

Very impressed with Barry's today , had a table booked and everything was hassle free and covid compliant . The service was great, we had the roast of the day , the food was gorgeous and the staff were lovely and attentive too , we...will definitely be visiting there again. Regarding another visitors review last week about paying the bill , couldn't you have just got off your a××e and do what everyone else was doing by paying at the pay point. Thank you Barry's .More
