Amazing little cafe with lots of options on the menu and yummy yummy cakes to choice from. I haven't have a nice coffee cake like that in a long time also the cinnamon rolls was gorgeous even though I don’t like cinnamon.
I have lived in Greece and Lebanon anywhere I am I make off a Middle East restaurant and Izz Cafe is right up there with Blue Front in San Francisco as the best I have had outside Greece or the mid-east.
Fresh authentic...selections bursting with flavour.
Helpful friendly staff/ management.
I wish these Palestinians well.More
I am a cinnamon roll lover and this was THE best cinnamon roll I have ever had! Huge, soft, the right amount of cinnamon, sugar, butter, cream cheese, caramel...perfection👌🏼 The cafe was also immaculately clean and the covid precautions were top notch🙌🏼
It was my birthday today and although we live in the Crosshaven area I chose to go to the Izz Cafe as I have wanted to try their food since they opened even though we are now(October 17th) only able to have takeaway or eat...outside. I explained we had come as my choice for a birthday meal and we ate the meze, Taster's Mix, very enjoyable and served to us so cheerfully on a beautiful meze plate, outside on quite a chilly dark evening . When my husband went in to pay, Izz had two lovely coffees for us that had Happy Birthday in coffee powder on the creamy frothy top as a present for me ! It was a touching gesture at the end of a delightful meal ! We had a lovely memorable evening, thank you so much, we will be back soon ! KathyMore
Visited here twice recently, 1st visit was a tasting platter and for a brunch take out today. Both occasions were an amazing tasting experience. I would highly recommend the tasting platter if you've never tasted Palestinian food as you get to taste a variety of...dishes on the menu. Today, the babaganoush was the most amazing tasting experience I have had in a long time, the texture of the dip with the smoky, spicy flavour brought a smile to my face as it was such a nice, delicate flavour and a new flavour. The flatbread which accompanied was perfect and the cinnamon buns...I just cant explain how delicious these are. Everything is cooked to order, the place is so spotles clean and nicely decorated. Its so nice to have a new type of cuisine in Cork, I'm so glad and honoured that this couple decided to open up in Cork and cook the food like it should be cooked and not adjusted to suit our westernised tastebuds. I look forward to tasting some new dishes the next time. If your adventurous and would like to try something new, I would highly recommend Izz.More
My American husband and I recently visited Cork from Dublin. We were excited to eat here because I’m Palestinian Jordanian, and my husband loves my mom’s food. We had low expectations because Middle Eastern ingredients are hard to find in Ireland and we expected the...recipes to be adapted to Irish tastes. But as many previous reviews have noted, this is the real deal! We loved it so much we went back two days later. We had the Zaatar/cheese manakeesh combo (as good as the best bakers in Amman), the msakhan (authentic spices and generous amount of topping), the mince meat (sfeeha), the magdoos (exactly like home), the spinach pies (to die for!!!), the warbat (wonderful crunchy layers and satisfyingly sweet), cinnamon roll (OMG! Not Palestinian but delicious!) and the Palestinian coffee (spot on). The spinach pies are my favorite, so tart and flavorful. If you’re thinking that you don’t want a tart savory pie, you’re wrong...this is perfection. Second favorite would be the Zaatar and cheese manakeesh—a classic done right. Izz and Eman make me proud as a Palestinian, and I wish/hope that they open a branch in Dublin. I’d be there every other day! Until then, my husband and I are already planning our next visit to Cork just to eat here.More
Popped by for lunch and had a spinach manooshet and flat white. The former was like a flat bread with spinach, tangy and so satisfying. The latter was great for post lunch coma. I’d definitely be back for the numerous desserts to try out.
Reservations...recommended as it’s a small place and it can get busy.More
I know nothing about Palestinian food but the aromas were mouthwatering.
I need to go back when it’s less busy & figure out what to taste next as I was a little intimidated due to my own lack of knowledge.
The chicken musakhan was delicious...as was the coffee & biscuit cake.
Food is cooked to order & is delicious.
I wanted to try everything coming out of the kitchen.More
This little cafe blew our minds with taste. We got the appetizer tasters and got to try everything, each was tastier than the last. Next we had a manaeesh and loved it. We finished with the most delicious saffron cake. Highly recommended.
