Cameron's is, undoubtedly, doing good French bread and patisserie at deomcratic prices. There's no quibbling about the craftsmanship that goes into what they produce. Their croissants, for example, are as good as anything I can get from my local boulangerie in France. So... maximum points...for quality and authenticity. My problem is this: I simply do not know why they have chosen to design their stores as they have. As you walk in the door, the till faces you immediately. This means you are expected to order without first having had the chance to view what is available in the glass counters to your left. And the lack of adequate space between the counter and the front window of the store means that it is impossible for people to walk in the door, turn left and queue towards the till after viewing the produce. Whoever designed these shops should be the subject of a competency process. It is terrible. Yesterday, I was in their Blackrock bakery. People were queuing out of the door - and there were only four people in the queue! Luckilly, it was a warm, dry day. In the winter, people will not wear this - and will go the other excellent French bakery less than 100m away which *is* properly laid out with the till at the far end. Come on, Cameron's. You are letting yourselves - and your customers - down here and will likely lose business because people will walk away when they see a queue. Also, you need to encourage your staff to loosen up a little. This is why I have given you only an average score.More
I went for the red goat wrap for my lunch. All I’ll say was I felt there wasn’t quality control distributing the ingredients evenly across the wrap and it wasn’t folded close at one end. It tasted good, however I wouldn’t go for it again.
I don't get the love of Cameron at all. Having gotten annoyed previously because they have a menu board but won't make up anything to order from it, I decided to try again as people rave so much about their sandwiches. This time they had...what I wanted ready but when I got to the counter, the price was 50c more than on the board. It seems that they went to the trouble of changing the prices on the till but didn't bother their holes changing the prices on the menu board! Apart from being lazy and showing disregard for customers, I'm pretty sure it's illegal to display one price and charge another. Regardless, I bought the sandwich. I though it was poor. The seeded baguette was hard and dry and not tasty, at all. It tasted like yesterday's bread - probably wasn't but it tasted like it too me. The filling ingredients were fine but the whole sandwich was really dry, chewy and unpleasant. I did try again.More
Cameron is the best bakery in Cork by a mile. The pastries and baguettes are to die for. Coffee is great too.
Regularly stop at Camerons to indulge in their pastries and have never been disappointed. There is typically a fairly long queue so be prepared to wait but in fairness they are usually well stocked.

HAIRY CAKE ALERT ! I went to the Cameron Bakery today, I go there sometimes, it’s the only french bakery in Cork and I always loved it. With my friend we ordered 5 pastries. We found a long hair in the Fraisier so my friend...went back with no scandal just to show them and asked to replace the cake, discreetly so that the customers inside would not know what happened. She came back and we found another hair in the Tarte à la pistache, which is just inconceivable. Since we were close, we went back with the pastries to request a refund, as we did not trust the rest of the pastries, we did not touch it. The cashier ask us to wait went to check with the manager and came back to say that he can just refund the cake with the hair. We insisted saying that it’s the second time and we found it gross, not professional and nasty. And it was only fair we got our money back for cakes that we returned because of hairs that were found IN the cake, not even on top of it. He went back again to see the manager and came back saying he cannot do anything. I insisted and said that I’ll do a review even though it was not my intention at all when we went back. Im chocked that the manager didn’t even come to check with us and I am not blaming the cashier at all he seems very uncomfortable. The cashier went a last time to see him or her and he finally said he can just do a voucher for the total. I just regret that I didn’t take pictures of the cakes I was just honest and again I didn’t want to do any scandal it was obvious that if this happen in my company I would refund the customer because it’s a shame. We felt like they did not believe us and the fact that we had to insist 3 times before they even proposed a voucher is a shame. We wanted a refund so that we could at least have the choice to come back, which we don’t even want anymore so the voucher is useless.More
I think the picture is doing enough justice. I’m only writing this because I’m required to write at least 100 letter. You won’t regret it. It’s absolutely amazing
The staff here are just so nice. Take away only at the moment. But have a great selection of delicious cakes and savoury options also. Love this bakery!
My new favorite bakery in Cork. I’ve been there 4 times in the past 3 weeks. Not much lol. Love the strawberry vanilla tart. Can’t wait to try out their signature baguettes next!
Wonderful chocolate & almond pastry with great coffee plus great service. What more can you ask for. The fresh baked smell is truly great
Ordered ~20 pastries in advance with no issues. Picked them up at 7am when it was quiet! Staff were lovely and pastries divine!
Called in here for a coffee and a muffin today. There is a huge selection of delicious sweet treats. Staff are friendly. Coffee and a muffin was only €4.20.
I came here a couple of times for pastries while in Cork on vacation last week. It absolutely did not disappoint. The pastries were as good, fresh, and delicious as any I had in Paris last year when I went. They had a very wide...selection to choose from early in the day. The second time I went an hour or so before closing and, as expected, they did not have as much to choose from but I was still able to find some great pastries that really hit the spot. Can't wait to come back here and eat some more wonderful pastries next time I'm in Cork/Ireland.More
