Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have frequented this establishment since I was a child and it is a treat and a favourite of mine. Sadly though since the owners don’t frequent the shop S much as before the quality of the food has turned starchy and almost inedible. Huge...shame.More

Have to say I totally agree with the recent reviews on here - went there today & got 2 fish & chips . The batter on the fish was so thick you could hardly taste the fish . The chips were also horrible - not...sure is it the oil or potatoes they’ve changed but either way it was a very disappointing meal . They’ve increased their prices a lot lately but sadly the quality of the food doesn’t reflect this . The Lennox family aren’t there as much these days & I definitely think standards have dropped as a result. Overall not a great experience - from a once great award winning chipperMore

We live nearby and can honestly say that we won’t be going back - it’s been bad for a while but we gave it a few chances - no more. I waited over 20 minutes to get my food and it wasn’t even busy. The...oil used for the chips clearly hadn’t been changed in a while. The chips had that yellow burnt texture. The bun on the salad burger was hard. Overall the food was not hot. Honestly it’s nothing like it was. Shame but I won’t be giving them any more chancesMore

Got Lennox’s for the 1st time in over a year last night & the recent reviews weren’t wrong , it’s gone to the dogs , I was always a loyal customer for years but won’t be returning again anytime soon , batter is changed which...Is a shame as it was the nicest batter ever , the food was burnt & Rock hard, mushy peas are changed , curry , over all just rotten & a waste of €40 on my families take away night , it was always one of the nicest chippers in cork even Ireland in my option at one time , if they don’t go back to there original ingredients, there gonna lose a lot of customMore

Went to to Lennox chipper tonight and was appalled by the food we had. We got a fish supper, batter was rock hard and tasted of chicken, mushy peas weren't even mushy. didn't get the curry or the garlic mayo that i had ordered. I thought...this place was supposed to one of the best chippers in cork sadly I disagree.More

Sorry but the chips here have gone downhill an awful lot in the last two years. Mine were bought for the family. Are they being brought in frozen from elsewhere? No idea, but the taste is as bland as hell.

Was looking forward to this takeway as a treat but I was very disappointed. I ordered fish and chips and the fish was not freshly made, I felt like it had been sitting there a while and was tasteless - ended up in the bin!...Chips were only alright, won't be in a hurry back there!More

It's been 20 months since I set foot in Cork. Jackies is a must stop for me. I wasn't disappointed. The grub was fabulous. Chips, Peas, Curry, & Battered Sausage. For me, this is the pinnacle of takeout. Everything was delicious. Their Covid protocols were...spot on. Looking forward to one more visit before heading back to US.More

They hate the public in this place and they have no problem showing it. If you are foreign and they can't hear what you say, they will either ignore you or repeat the question in a louder, more hostile manner. I witnessed this on several...occasions with foreign people and it is a shameful way to treat any paying customer, regardless of whether they're from Cork or not. They hate their jobs, show open contempt for the customers who keep them in those jobs and while the food may be good, standing there and watching them treat people like sh*t and then giving them your money will leave you with a bad taste. The place is best avoided. Plenty of other good chippers around Cork City.More

One of the best chippers in cork. There is a lot of staff so the service is quick regardless of queue. Their side orders are good and so is their chicken suppers. Their fish is nice but the batter can be a little heavy. You...can definitely get better fish in many chippers in cork. Their chips are nicest in cork and its not a greasy chipper if you know what I mean. Some chippers should come with a health warning but not Jackie Lennox. There are 2 bloody things that bug the hell out of me. First, some of the staff ( not all ) are scanty when it comes to the chips. Just because their thin and eat fruit don’t mean that I or any other customer for that matter do. When you order a supper, you expect it to be, well, a supper, but these staff barely fill the carton with chips. It’s not on folks, it’s just a potato. That’s all Secondly, I can’t justify how you can get a potato pie/ burger with a scoop of chips for less than 4 euro yet their chips cheese and curry/garlic is a scandalous 6 + euro. What now, is cheddar sold in bulk now more expensive than gold?? Or is curry sauce now up there with Chanel no. 5 as one of the most expensive liquids in the world?. A downright and absolutely robbery of the people. Yeah yeah, well don’t eat it Well yeah yeah, Don’t rip people off, it’s just a potato 🥔More

some legends are there for a reason and this is one of them. The burgers are massive and the staffs habit of throwing a few chips in (even if you didn't order them) are just one of the many reasons they are so sound. It...is pure Cork and pure comfort food.More

It's hard to fault Lennox's as rightfully among the best chippers in Cork. Sometimes the chips need an extra 30 seconds but the burgers, onion rings, chicken and everything else is great! Always love coming here even if there is a queue nowadays
